  1. Yes @MadAsHell, had the same thoughts.
  2. On face value it looks disappointing. However, will reserve judgement until the trade period is completed.

Okay as long as he comes cheap in terms of pick / DFA / Rookie list, and contract value. Buys us some time to develop Bradtke and determine his long-term prospects.

Know how you feel @Little Goffy, it's been a dog of a year. This may help your calculations: https://www.pedigree.com/dog-care/dog-age-calculator
  5. A triple win for them, Ugle-Hagan, Hannan, and the Insurance payout.
  6. That would mean we'd actually achieved the kind of 'bistro-math' / 'multiple mid-tier players packaged and converted into a top 10 pick' that many Demonland posters have often dreamed of.

The 'grunt' type of midfielder that Essendon has needed for a couple of years now.
  8. There was that, and some other personal issues at the time that meant a change of state, both physical and mental, was a good idea too. Thanks for the update @Unleash Hell, keen to see what happens.
  9. The Dogs are the party trying to get the deal done.
  10. Using the AFL Draft Points Index as guide: Pick 14 = 1,161 Points Pick 25 = 756 Points 405 points differential equates to ~ pick 41 That doesn't seem unreasonable for a player the Dogs have targeted.
  11. Connected with the expected bidding on Jamarra Ugle-Hagan?

    Knifed again!

    Only one of...he's mellowing.

Bringing in McKernan as a break-in-case-of-emergency when we have Gawn, Jackson, Bradtke (admittedly raw) plus Tomlinson and Weideman who can both provide a chop-put if needs be - how much glass are we expecting to break?

Agree, and it's ridiculous to expect any List Manager to be overly open, especially when they don't even know what currency they have to bargain with. In Mahoney's case with no clarity as to what picks we may be receiving (or may not if no trade is agreed) for Pruess, Hannan, ANB, T.Mac, O.Mac and possibly others?
  16. @Unleash Hell, you suggest that "@Ethan Tremblay = Tom Browne"...good to see that blasphemy is alive and well on Demonland (it's natural home).

Agree with the posters saying that it's likely to hold up our trades. Could work for or against us, too soon to tell so not much point in working ourselves into a state of angst.

Yes, potentially huge ramifications. If Daniher, sometimes brilliant but quite fragile, netted Pick 7 (albeit by compensation, not trade) which equates to 1644 on the AFL Draft Value Index, then it can be argued that Cameron's value should be more. Possible scenarios (equivalent value in terms of AFL Draft Value Index): Almost Pick 3, GWS get picks 13, 15 and swap 30 for 37 Almost Pick 4, GWS get picks 13, 20 and swap 30 for 37 Pick 5, GWS get picks 15, 20 and swap 30 for 37

    Damn right, well played GWS.

The way I see it @Dr evil MAY have been correct at a given point in time, and then Isaac Smith changed his mind. If that's what happened then perhaps then the good doctor was quasi-correct.
  21. It's hard to know. It's another conundrum in this thread of conflicting perspectives...
  22. TRIGON replied to dazzledavey36's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Not completely true @Dr evil, there are those among us who see you as 'a colourful trade-period identity'
  23. Ethan Tremblay > Daylight > Twilight > Moonlight > Tom Browne
