  1. Luke Parker and Nick Smith for pick 2?
  2. Rumors that Freo's Viv Michie could be coming to the MFC next year. Wont set the world on fire, but he looks like a nice player, will add some depth to our mid stocks and shouldn't cost us much at all. Found some of his highlights playing in the WAFL: http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/video/2013-03-27/wafl-watch-viv-michie
  3. Matt Crouch could slip to 12, he is the exact type of midfielder Melbourne should be drafting, strong, aggressive, fast and a ball magnet.
  4. Peter Jackson has just played the cards perfectly!!
  5. Greenwood is not a quick fix Mark Neeld type player, greenwood is still 24 with plenty of years left in him and has shown great potential, getting 38 possessions against essendon in round 21 this year. We have been comprehensively beaten in contested ball all year, we can't even get our hands on the ball little lone thinking about whether we can use it or not. A hard tough body like greenwood, who unlike magner and couch has a good burst of speed, would be perfect for us.
  6. You devolp 'stars', we shouldn't be looking at everyother club to try and grab their good players! We should be looking at the talent on our list and turning thoose players into stars! Seconding the op needs to get his head out of the air, no quality afl player in their right mind would want to come to mfc!
  7. Greenwood is exactly the type of player Melbourne can go after, so many have their heads in the sky when thinking that we could get a Sloane or an Adams. Although players like greenwood are not as appealing as the others he could be just as important to our 3rd world midfield. Could maybe even get him with a straight swap for blease, or a late daft pick. Although I wouldn't mind using our first 2nd round draft to bundle up greenwood and another of the roos midfielders.
  8. Disagree with your last comment, jack has immense talent and I wouldn't underestimate what we could get for him at the trade table. The club we played today, I think would be one keen on watts, with their abundance in midfielders we could get one of their middle tier midfield type players (suban, c. pearce, de boir, spurr) and maybe a later draft pick or one of there younger mids (crozier, michie), who are not getting a game with freo currently. A trade like that would benefit MFC more than keeping jack on our list, I think it's best for both parties to part ways.
  9. Take Boyd and develop him with what midfielders? Although drafting young talent is important, it is as equally important for MFC to introduce quality players now, so that the young talent we do have/get can be developed properly to then fulfill their potential. In regard to Boyd specifically, he seems only to be rated #1 because he is the only genuine KPF in the draft, no doubt he will be a good player, but lets not get caught up in every other clubs desperation for a KPF. MFC already have a fairly strong forward setup for the future and we have a KPF that looks to be the best thing since sliced bread, so i question the need for Boyd! The wise choice for MFC would be to trade #1 for existing AFL quality players, and keep #2 to bring in more young talent, i.e. Aish, sheed, kelly etc.
  10. Just re-hashing the idea of a priority pick hypothetical trade for MFC, give your thoughts on whether this trade scenario would be fair to all clubs involved? *assuming that all players involved are willing to be traded* Multi Club Trade - MFC send Pick 1 to Carlton and pick 20 to Essendon - Carlton sends pick 9 and Warnock to GWS, sends Yarran to Essendon, and pick 29 and Robinson to MFC - Essendon sends Bellchambers and pick 14 to GWS - GWS sends Taylor Adams to MFC and Pick 3 to Adelaide - Adelaide sends Rory Sloane to MFC Essentially: PS: go easy on the new guy
