POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
Three home wins, maybe at last the G is going to become our fortress. Such a great team effort today with outstanding contributions from Max, Steele, Koz and Sparrow. Someone mentioned Max's tapouts improving this year. I think this is because he has a mid who knows how to rove to him, that man is Jack Steele. It reminds me of how Jones would run around the back and take the tap and break clear. Kozzie is in there as well. The improvement I see is that King's game plan lets footballers be instinctive and play on at all costs, allowing them to showcase their talent. Sharp is the classic example. Pulling back a little, the Suns have played an undermanned Geelong, West Coast and Richmond, then a bye. Maybe their first three games flatter them.

He isn't on the list yet but I like Toby Sinema, who plays like Eric Gulden.

Dees under fire regarding sensitive and personal information.
I heard Tom Morris on SEN this morning, and with all the other footy news, he had to go straight to the MFC story. Not Vossy and another loss, not North and their 3rd win. It had to be his story. Tom, I hope you are on Demonland and can read this. From his discussion, we now know He has a copy of the recorded phone call. Had to run it past SEN legal before writing, and in doing so, let us know the meeting was recorded without the club's knowledge or consent. If it gets leaked, is he the only person with a copy and the obvious leaker? Why would you want to record a group chat that the club has organised unless you expected some goss He thinks there is more to run with this story. Does this mean that, as the only person with the confidential information, he is going to milk this story for all he has? Who leaked the story to him, and did they get paid for their complicit behaviour? Has Tom ever paid his informants for their information in his breaking stories Is the said individual the person who has been leaking stuff to Tom for the last few years? Did he think for a moment that he was doing the May family a favour, or that it was in the public interest, or was he publishing for his own advancement? I would have thought an individual who was sacked for a comment he made to a closed group would know better. He must have, from his own experience, known the damage disclosure of a private meeting can cause.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
The Glen Eira council have for several years, been lobbying for more open space for team sports, directing a lot of their efforts to open up the vast expanse in the middle of Caulfield race course. The MRC have always wanted to keep the enclosed land just for racing, but allowed the public to use the track for walking or training. I can remember a time when Caulfield in the VFA used the track for a lot other the preseason work. The point is, this development isn't just about MFC. We are part of something way bigger, and like it or not, the Caulfield trust has been told to free up land. Not just for us but for all community sport. The MRC are broke and needed to sell off their freehold to Mount Scopus, which is still years off and dependent on the school getting the money from the sale of their 3 campuses. Where I live, a local team has 20 junior cricket teams needing grounds to play on, the same with foorball especially now that there are so many women's teams. No matter who goes to the middle area for recreation will need access or a tunnel. In many other sports setups, the introduction of a major sporting code team to a site draws funding for the development of the site for the whole community to use. The land in the centre of Caulfield needs us, needs to be developed and horse racing cannot monopolise all the area when they only use a fraction of the land

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton
TMac must come in for Disco. I would consider AMW for Latrelle and maybe Heath for Culley. MY rationale is that TMac is a no-brainer. AMW is quick and a bit more experienced than Latrelle. He is a good kick and can cover Carlton's small forwards. 2 little blokes for Freo took us apart, one in his first game. Culley's role at the moment is as a marking target, not so much a ground-level ball getter, where Heath can also be a marking target and take part in forward ruck contests

CASEY: Rd 01 vs Footscray VFL
That is a magnificent photo of Geof Tempest and the late Johnny Booth playing for the Caulfield Bears in the Geelong hoops. I think that photo was in the first semi at Junction Oval in Tony Jewell's last year as coach before he went to Richmond. Go Bears

Koltyn Tholstrup Re-Signs until 2028
Look up Jordan Lewis and his critique of NAS on Fox last night. In key moments NAS was selfish and let Kolt loose. Kolt had more score involvement and played the selfless team role. Great observations from Lewis

COACHES VOTES: Round 01
This highlights why coaches' votes don't mean much. The split looks like JVR 5 & 4, Hall 5 & 3, Max 4 & 3, suggesting that one coach thought Max Hall was BOG. One coach gave an excited, fresh approach; the other was the usual monotonous drivel, suggesting a loss because they dropped some marks. We are so lucky that King was selected as our coach, he is a ripper

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
That is nothing compared to the spray he gave in the rooms at Dandenong one fine afternoon. The air vents in the rooms were a perfect soundbox to anone in the stnads who could hear the lot. Spectators complained to the police, who were called into the rooms. The irony of it all is that the next coach after Tony was Paddy Guinane, a true gentleman who never swore. Oh, he did once, but he apologised after
