  1. You'd think that whoever doesn't get the nod of no.1 ruck between Xerri and Gawn gets a spot on the bench at the bare minimum. Both have had terrific years.
  2. Gawn - Best and Fairest
  3. I agree with the sentiment that he's looked disinterested at times during the last couple of months. Saying that, I can't say our slow ball movement and abysmal forward 50 entries have helped Fritsch much in the second half of the season. Looked on track for another 50+ goal season at around round 10-11. Officially a five-time leading goalkicker of MFC. Equals Fred Fanning and is now only behind Neitz (seven-time leading goalkicker).
  4. 6. McDonald 5. Gawn 4. Chandler 3. Salem 2. Rivers 1. Billings
  5. I can think of three instances over the last 4 or 5 years where play has been stopped and Melbourne has featured in all of them.
  6. 2025 is definitely make or break for Woey. Not sure what his strengths are.
  7. We're well on top so far this quarter. Entries inside 50 are still killing us.
  8. McVee doing a serviceable job on N.Daicos
  9. No Trac pre-game interview? The team from channel 7 just spoke to Steven May who mentioned he was a 'late call up' for the interview.
  10. Here's a few... - Our win against Port in South Australia early in the year for Viney's 200th! My first foray into SA to watch us play was a good one! - Caleb Windsor immediately looking at home on the Robbie Flower wing at the MCG - Ed Langdon returning to 2021/early 2022 form late in the second half of the year. - Our thrilling win against Geelong and Bayley Fritsch's potential GOTY match sealer. - Disco Turner showing promise as a third tall in the forward line. - JVR's first half against the Eagles at the G. Overall, another great development season for Roo. - Max Gawn with another AA quality year. Should be named on the bench at a minimum if not ruck - Trent Rivers in the midfield. - Kynan Brown's match winning tackle against the Roos on debut. - Jake Melksham's return from an ACL.
  11. Although I can understand the logic of not playing ANB considering he'll be playing elsewhere next year, this is from Viney's contract announcement message yesterday. It will also be Alex Neal-Bullen’s final game in the red and blue and a chance to say thank you for his contribution to our club. It would be a backflip of epic proportions if they've elected not to play ANB. Although recent evidence has shown that communication is not the club's strong suit...
  12. Congratulations to Trent 'Not Jared' Rivers who will line up for game no. 100 against Collingwood on Friday night. He's set to become only the fourth player from his draft year so far to crack the ton after Noah Anderson, Caleb Serong and of course, our very own Kozzy Pickett! Based on his midfield performances this year, I think it's safe to assume that he's only scratched the surface of what he's capable of and that the next 100 games are going to be pretty exciting to watch. Here's a quick snapshot from early in his career where he booted his first AFL goals (including the match-winner) at the Gabba in a thriller against the Giants! What are your favourite moments from Trent's career to date?
  13. Just got the email! JV is a Dee for life!
  14. Benny was unbelievable during that '21 finals series. He'll be a much loved figure in retirement. Hopefully we find a role for him off field so we can keep him around the club.
  15. I'd imagine both TMac and Melksham will go around again. Tomlinson will likely seek more opportunities elsewhere after another year we begged him to stay last year because he was a 'required player'. If TMac retires, then I could see him hanging around for another year.
  16. C'mon guys, it's clear that Christian caught up with Lachie Neale so they can compare their recent hauls from Cash Converters.
  17. 6. Viney 5. Langdon 4. Turner 3. Rivers 2. Salem 1. Gawn
  18. Sparrow seems the most likely (and maybe only) omission at this stage. AMW had 35 touches in the VFL so I imagine either he or Laurie will come in as straight swap.
  19. Jesse now has 66 goals for the season and is now 10 goals clear of 2nd (Charlie Curnow) in the Coleman Medal with one round left. Congratulations Jesse! So happy that he's playing great footy again.
  20. Nothing against Oliver, but I feel that our midfield was much improved without him there. Viney was a bull all game. Rivers and ANB both worked into the game nicely after poor first half. Langdon was back to his hard running best. McVee was quiet in his first real foray into the midfield but was generally clean with his ball use. Thrilled to see him sneak onto the scoreboard in the 4th quarter!
  21. Hard to read anything into that Viney comment. Not overly concerned. Currently in contract negotiations with the Demons so I can't imagine he'd say anything publicly which may impact talks.
  22. Hard to be disappointed with that! Really pleased with Blake Howes' game today. 22 touches and 10 marks. Maybe a rising star nod this week.
  23. Kolt is raw, but there's plenty to work with. Nice finish young man.
  24. Still in Melbourne with some other members of the rehab group.
