  1. order of preference...from the likely available candidates Freeman Crouch Lennon Kolodjashjni Sheed Bontempelli Dunstan I assume Boyd, Aish, Kelly, Scharenberg, Billings are top 5.
  2. Gartlett at 40 if available ... worth the risk
  3. Dunstan is the smoky at no.9 pick. A real hard footballer. Good mates with Jimmy Toumpas.
  4. if we get Kade Kolodashnjjjjiii at pick 9, surely we choose Jake Kolodashnjjjjiii at pick 58. Double The Trouble for commentators
  5. Freeman, Lennon, Kolodadhnji and Bontempelli seem the popular choices. Sheed, Billings or Crouch likely to be gone by #9. Dunstan may be the smoky. All are worthy of pick 5-9 IMO.
  6. Picks 1 & 2 are Boyd & Scharenberg for me. Then I think its very even for the next dozen. Aish, Kelly, Billings, Crouch, Sheed,(mcdonald), Freeman, Kolodashnji, Bontempelli, Lennon, Dunstan and Salem. And Lewis Taylor will be very very good as well. We are well placed for pick 9.
  7. We are done trading. Cross added to Vince, Tyson & Michie gives our midfield 4 ready to go mids. Cross gets 2 years and would add ball winning and leadership. We have the forwards. Midfield must still be boosted.
  8. Dunstan is like Mitchell, Hodge, Hannebery, Bartel. All considered slow but somehow they always seem to get the footy. Dunstan is in the mix at pick 9 but I prefer Freeman, Lennon & Bontempelli. Dunstan is tough, skilled, tackles and not quick but not slow. He lacks burst pace but wins the footy. Good mates with Jimmy Toumpas. Sometimes the footballers get overlooked for the athletes!!!
  9. bank on Freeman to di this "often"...he loves to run with the footy
  10. Mackay for ... Tapscott (hmmm I think tappy will be good but it could work)
  11. We need small fwds or key backs. small fwd option. Dayle Gartlett ... I would grab at 40 so stands up if we ignored him at 40, this dead pick at 57 is worth a risk. key back here. maybe Joel Tippett from West Adelaide. Former Suns rookie had shown he is the best full back outside the AFL
  12. Yes if Garlett was available at pick 40 ... very tempying as he fits our needs. A risk but he has real talent.
  13. it would be a miracle if Zac Jones lasted to 40. Will go around 25-30. for tall backs... Cameron Giles (SA under 18s) or Daniel McStay (Eastern) are the most likely options. I have also read that Tom Cutler (Oakleigh) may slip. He was rated top 25 at the start of 2013 but has not shown at national championships. He is a well built 190cms defender with very good run and skills. Perfect HBF in mould of Grant Birchall.
  14. Key back and small fwds on the agenda.
  15. Just read morning news about Pies & Eagles deal... it seems Pies are keento get Bontempelli. Freeman remains my preferred choice if available.
  16. 1-Gws Boyd 2-Gws Kelly 3-saints Aish 4- Dogs Scharenberg 5- Suns Billings 6- Eagles Sheed 7-Lions Crouch 8- Roos Mcdonald (f/son) 9- Demons ...(in my preferred order) Freeman, Bontempelli, Lennon, Salem or Dunstan.
  17. Freeman at pick 9 would be a huge bonus. Tough, strong, with pace to burn.
  18. Dylan Shiel... 2014 end of year target AGAIN
  19. My pick 9 options... Nathan Freeman Sandringham Dragons, 181cm, 85kg, 16/6/95 A strong-bodied midfielder who fiercely attacks the ball and contest. Real pace and has also shown a tendency to push forward and hit the scoreboard. Jack Billings Oakleigh Chargers, 183cm, 78kg, 18/8/95 Billings is a smart and skilful half-forward with elite foot skills and a strong overhead mark. Composed and creates as much as delivers. Marcus Bontempelli Northern Knights, 191cm, 83kg, 24/11/95 The athletic utility suited to the modern game. Bontempelli is tall enough to hold down a key position, and runs and jumps at marking contests like one, but can also push up the field and is good at ground level. Has been starring for school side Marcellin College. Matt Crouch North Ballarat Rebels, 181cm, 77kg, 21/4/95 Probably the best inside midfielder of the draft. Crouch digs into contests, rips the ball out and feeds it off, and has improved his outside play. Luke Dunstan Woodville-West Torrens, 184cm, 81kg, 29/1/95 A strong and physical midfielder who thrives on the contested situation. The South Australian has a presence around the ball and swings onto his left foot with ease. Christian Salem Sandringham Dragons, 183cm, 82kg, 15/7/95 A smooth-moving and classy left-footed midfielder. Has a damaging kick and often sets up play as the linkman through the middle of the ground. Solid build.
  20. FB: Garland, Frawley, Terlich HB: Grimes, McDonald,Strauss C: Trengove, Viney, Toumpas HF: Vince, Dawes, Howe FF: Hogan, Clark, Blease FOLL: Gawn,Tyson, N Jones INT: Watts, McKenzie, Michie SUB: Kent EMERG: #9 pick, M. Jones, Fitzpatrick
  21. Freeman, Crouch, Billings or Dunstan. One or all will be available ... this pick is crucial
  22. 18th October ... A big day for MFC ins (now) - Michie, Tyson, Vince (Hogan) out - Sylvia (compo pick 23) national draft 9, 40, 57. psd #2 rookie draft 2, 20
  23. http/the_age/sport/zac jones in acoholic brawl worth a go ... Zac will go with pick range 25-35 IMO. I am excited by all our trading but gutted Zac may go elsewhere. If we don't get him, I hope an interstate team does so we can "bring him home in 2 years
  24. 1-4 ... Boyd, Kelly, Aish, Scharenberg 5 - Kolodashnji, Sheed, Bontempelli, # fs Mcdonald Therefore we hopefully get the choice of Crouch, Billings, Freeman or Dunstan. Happy with any one if these.
  25. a likely target for end of 2014 ...
