Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Just note that whilst Iām a big supporter of JT, low draft picks does not guarantee success. Getting 5 & 9 should add two high quality youngsters. It was true for 2021, and in the future , you need the combination of drafting 1st round draftees, wise trades, attracting the right players from other clubs and development of others within the group.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Hope Dees retain list spots to get 4 draftees in this years pool. Super deep and lots of ready to go young talent. Given we have 5&9 and have purged other picks, our two later picks might be in the deep 60s. But thereās still talent. An example is in SA. Woodville-West Torrens U18 captain Jett Hasting was very good in the SA colts grand final (under 18s). Best on ground. I saw him also in the National championships and his run and carry and burst gave him similarities to the Trent Rivers. Endurance is good. Won the SA state coming2km time trial in 6min29secs. Skills are good. Has the pace and composure to be a AFL footballer imv. Probably a rookie pick but shows the quality late in the draft pool.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Any news? Heard this was progressing quickly on Friday morning. I guess the bombers and crows pick swapping has taken the priority Sharp is the third player to potentially nominate the Dees now. 1st ⦠Houston ⦠did he really nominate us? Well the media said he did, so thatās a given. But heās yes, no , yes has brought out other suitors and MFC off limits 𤮠2nd⦠Derksen⦠nominated MFC, Dees very keen and it helps his career, his financials and his family. GWS lost too many players and had poured concrete over Derksen. FFS. š¤Øš¤Ø Hope we can do this deal. Heās the type of player needed and type of trade (22yo, 4 years in system) that can come in straight away and still improve and improve

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Yes agree itās a reminder of the Mahoney days. Good smart trading of picks to move up the order. No complaints. Letās JT weave some magic. Just to be clear, the call out that was frustrating was the recruitment of players like Schache (and his extension), McAdam and Billings. The extension for Laurie for a further 2 years was highly questionable.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Yes I think both would be handy but we are unlikely to have any picks in the suitable range. Ough showed such improvement that heās likely to be picked at 35-40 and Boxshall at 50-55.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Love this. Really want us to get Sharp. The deal could be MFC 49 for Sharp & BL 66. Gives Lions extra 200 points for Academy bids while leaves us with a third pick still.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Thatās a great get. Dees can use 5&9, and then see if theirs is still rated youngsters left at the end of the draft. There is typically good youngsters left who need to be given a chance. Other delisted free agents might be worth grabbing such as Parfitt.

AFLW: Rd 07 (Game 2) vs St Kilda
That was super courageous. Tough win away from home. 3 1/2 day break. Saints are a good team. Our contested footy to win clearances was critical. Like to see more āgetting territoryā footy though with less handball like we did v crows votes. 6 McNamara šā¤ļø 5 Heath šā¤ļø 4 Hanks šā¤ļø 3 Hore šā¤ļø 2 Goldrick šā¤ļøthat goal in the 2nd quarter was special 1 Chaplin šā¤ļø Georgia Campbell ššruck work to compete and kick a nice goal Georgia Gallššbe strong at the contest in the absence of Pearce and Harris, great to see GC and GG stand up again Get the pen out to sign up extensions please.

Delistings 2024
2024 squad = 45. šANB (crows) BBB (ā°)Gus (med ret) , Hunter (ā°) JS29, KFW, Schache. Tomlinson likely to go. 8 off the list. Down to 37 ??? Marty Hore??? Staying or delisted???Likely to stay with Tomlinson going. Add in Campbell and Sharp*, plus potentially another DFA (Parfitt?). Add in 4 in the draft (and leave room for Mentha as a cat B rookie).

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
I like what Sharp can add. Delivers run and carry and youth. His endurance is elite. At 22, he has a strong base. šš Thought Dees could get Sharp from Lions and get trade in pick 9 from Dons EFC 9 for MFC future 1st and pick 28, 40 & 54 (Dons get 1300 points plus future 1st) ⦠Dons only need 1000 points if Kako bid is say at 8-10 so itās paid for Sharp for picks 48 & 65 Dees would have 5,9,46and Sharp

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Agree not so much the points , itās the extra dip of 28 and 40. Getting 9 this year and giving back future 1st plus 1800 points. Sweet deal for Dons. This draft offers excellent youngsters in the 2nd round as well. I do really like getting 9, so wait and see ā¦

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
āEssendon trading pick 9 and a future third-round pickā for āMelbourne's future first-round pick and picks 28, 40, 46, 54 and 65ā. Certainly overpaying in my view but Dees are super keen to get that pick 9. Probably falls to pick 11 as Ashcroft and Lombard should and must get bid in within the first 5 picks. Did we need to give so much ā¦again ??? The trade offers Bombers over 1800 in points plus the future 1st 2025. Dees get current pick 9 plus future 3rd. Bombers will eat this up. Imv Dees needed to keep 28 or 40 off this trade. Imv the max offering future MFC first-round pick and picks 28, 46, 54 and 65 works as a deal and ultimately the offer. The points from Dees should be strong and keep that pick 40 & 48. Yes 48 to grab Sharp from the Lions. Go to the draft with 5, 9, 40 plus a late slider pick (need to grab 4 youngsters MINIMUM in this draft).

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
With the father son and academy picks being high quality youngsters, I think there will be now 28 youngsters in the āfirst roundā. Who has the picks and where they go is still in the mixing bowl This 28 includes: the standard 18 picks the 5 likely matched academy & father son picks the 2 additional picks allocated to the Kangas last year as compensation and in trades by the Roos, and the 3 compensation free agent picks allocated to the Giants (Cumming, Perryman) and Saints (Battle). Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay
If the Dees can trade in āpick 9ā off the bombers, then Iād be keen on drafting Xavier Lindsay with this pick. If we got either Lalor or Langford at pick ā5ā (inside mid bulls), Lindsay would be the perfect addition as a highly skilled left footer who can play half back or midfield. He captained the Gippsland Power team. As previously written, he plays like Josh Kelly (GWS) offering the ability to win the ball in close as well as run and spread. Undoubtedly injury ended his year early and he didnāt test at the combine. Heās got class and skills to add a lot to our future.

AFLW: Rd 07 (Game 2) vs St Kilda
Unbelievable AFLW draw. 3 1/2 day break. Really. Expect fatigue could be a factor. Oh and yes, itās 3 1/2 days after an interstate travel. Low scoring affair. I think itās only a goal or less at the end. Go Dees šā¤ļøšā¤ļø #LivingstoneWakeUp your schedule is rubbish.

The Draft Pick Upgrade Thread
One potential exchange is Lions give Harry Sharp and pick 32 (584 points) Dees give picks 40,49, 54, 65 (1041 points) *Brisbane get additional 457 points *Dees then have 5,28,32 in draft ⦠Yes? No? Maybe? Nb ā¦Equivalent points match for picks 49,54,65 is roughly pick 32. Dees giving up 40 for Sharp. ?!?!?! But actually itās more like MFC giving up 49 because Lions would only give up pick 32 for picks that deliver much āhigher pointsā in exchange. š¤Dees also could exchange MFC 2025 future 1st for 2024 GC Pick 13 to get Four picks in first ā32ā ⦠JT š§āāļø

Wade Derksen
Agree @manny100 Derksen is trying to do the best for his family and himself. Giants are being stubborn preventing a young player who they havenāt played in 2 1/2 years.

Wade Derksen
Yes probably pick 54+ is likely. Itās going to be a game of poker and bluff!!
