Weid starting to come of age according to the fox commentators. Two good marks and goals.

Conspiracy
Definitely the Kayo / Fox commentators especially Dunstall was barracking for the Suns. Agree the replays highlighted our frees and issues. I think given the 5 minutes stoppage for Ballard meant multiple replays. Btw Chol should also be referred as a MRO incident. Lucky Bowey wasnβt concussed and fell on his shoulder.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
? JVR hit on Ballard. Eyes for the ball ? Maybe 1-2 weeks given impact of Ballard being injured. ? Hibberd fitness. Assume heβs right for next week. ? form of JJ and Mcvee. They were ok but on the edge still come selection ? rest Clarry. He looked physically spent at the end as he willed as forward. likely ins. BBB, Hibberd outs. Turner. JVR (susp) Hibberd May. Lever Rivers Petty. Bowey Hunter. JV. Langdon Anb. Grundy Chandler Fritsch. Bbb. Kozzzy Gawn Trac. Oliver. Brayshaw. Sparrow. JJ. Mcvee. Sub. Laurie

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Gold Coast Suns
Agree. Alex Sexton is an absolute gun goalscorer at VFL level but not quite there at AFL. Had a great year 2-3 years ago. Like Dunstan for Casey, heβs too good for VFL but wonβt get a run now given age and others ahead of him.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
I was at the game and this βdewβ and slippery ball comment is not accurate. We went for a kick after the game and there was little moisture. And that was at 7:15. Ball handling wasnβt so much the issue. I agree we were simply outmuscled or outsmarted at the clearances. We had our A graders in there and guys like Rowell (11 clearances) and Anderson 10) won out. Trac (8) and Clarry (6) were beaten but still were excellent all night and tried their guts out. Viney was Witts also was very good and was break even (35 to 33 hitouts) v Gawn and Grundy. Thereβs work to do on Clearances especially Centre clearances where we have been down in prior two seasons.

GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
AFL article on Noah Anderson. Heβs the one to stop. The 22-year-old is averaging 27 disposals a game, 12 of them contested, along with seven clearances to be ranked top-10 in the AFL in that category. Statistics provided by Champion Data show that when Anderson attends the centre bounce, the Suns win the clearance 52.3 per cent of the time β ranked second in the League behind Sydney's Luke Parker. He's also forced 29 turnovers from his pressure this season β top 10 in the competition.

Does BT even realise Andrew Dunkley (father of Josh) was himself a very good reliable Swans defender with a lazy 217 games.

Dunstan out is a big loss. Heβs virtually BOG every week. Tmcd rested to get his body 100%. At least we hope there is no further ongoing foot issues. Whilst heβs not in form, having him fit for a late season cameo might be handy.

A 19 Team Competition
So itβs 19 teams. Final 8. 11 miss out. Constant bye allocated. More travel. Tassie has population of 500,000. Hobart population 240,000. Expect small crowds of 18,000-20,000 post the initial mania. More impacted draft with 12 of 1st 18 draftee players allocated to picks for the Devils in β2025β. Free agents to Devils.

COACHES VOTES: Rd 07 2023
Yes first votes this year for Brayshaw. Heβs had a moderate to quiet start to 2023. But he proved his quality this week.

Cats definitely going to be very hard to beat. Scoring power and plenty of options. Hawkins and Cameron are immense. Bombers effective with skills through the inside through the corridor. Cats defence is elite and (alert to Goody), if you go wide and restrict options, they can shut you down. Dees skills and one grab footy will be tested. Cats, Pies, Lions and Demons are the best 4 in my view.

CASEY: Rd 06 vs Box Hill Hawks
He really should play. Other subs with a quarter or less of footy are constantly playing in the VFL when their game is the following day. Casey would welcome him in given itβs a tough clash v undefeated box hill hawks. Wait and see today.
