1. love the pressure Freo is applying.
 2. Sadley our team plays soft football, look at the number of tackles we make, we go out of our way to run beside the opposition player rather than tackle. Freo is currently playing Essendon and showing how to play hard football, the style we should be playing. If an opposition player grabs the ball, he has to know he has to get rid of it in .5 of a second or else he will get flattened, or tackled. That is the type of game we need to play.
 3. congratulations and many thanks for those who organised today attendance and all of those he attended and cheered on our team. When all is going to hell a small things like supporters turning up and cheering instead of jeering would mean a lot to these guys. again well done all.
 4. I think the main issue is Neeld going to change his game plan, or is he going to persist with what works well at training?
 5. I just hope those players being given a chance to recover some form in the VFL accept the challenge and fight hard to regain their spot in the team, even Gillies, then we will have a side capable of winning a few games.
 6. Shaving beards is rubbish. Supporters should turn up when we play the Eagles with Fake beards to show the players we do support them (even if some of them with beards may not be playing). It may actually also inject a little humor into the event.
 7. Mfc needs to make an emphatic statement to team composition this week after they did not perform this week. Need to replace under performing players them with Casey players who did perform. We must show we respect and reward players who earn it and those that cannot measure up, need to go back to Casey to earn their place back. Hunger is what we need and most in the side, most of the players mentioned as doing well for Casey this week were noted for that. This week should be a test for those in Casey to see if they measure up and a chance for Senior players who did not measure up to run into form.
 8. We need to send some players back to casey to get fitter and to show they want to play AFL football for the MFC, so no point just playing some players this week in the hope their attitude will change, they did not perform so replace them with guys who did. The old carrot and the stick approach. Hopefully those going back to Casey will actually try to run themselves into a bit of form of the big game against GWS. I personally do not see any sense in leave Jack Watts languishing in the seniors when he is not playing well, the pressure will just continue to compound, let him loose that for a week playing for Casey instead of being under the microscope in the eagles game.

Ins: Tapscott - Spencer - Bail - Jetta Evans, Pederson, Kent, Gawn

Outs: Sellar - Nicholson - Rodan - Toumpas - Gillies - Watts - Jamar - Silvia

FB: Garland - Frawley - Jetta

HB: Pederson - T.Mac - Terlich - Magner

C: Viney - Jones - Trengove

HF: Tapscott - Howe - Davey

FF: Byrnes - Clark - Gawn

R: Spencer - Grimes - M.Jones

I: McKenzie, Bail, Kent,

It all starts in the centre give spencer a go first and swap him down to the forward pocket like the old olden days when rovers and rucks used to rest. Stretch the Eagles defense to cover they dont need to run anywhere with Clarky at full forward.

9. We need to promote players who have tried and demote players who have not, we know our chances of winning against the eagles are very low, so low as to be almost non existent. So make the changes now to see if those demoted want to work hard to early their spot back for the GWS game. We dont want to be trying to drop everyone and experiment for the GWS game as this is likely to be a make or break game for the MFC.
 10. The zone may work against teams like melbourne that cannot kick to position, you then get a cheap possession when they screw up. Against the top AFL teams you cannot give them a meter much less 5 or more meters. We are handicapping our players by them starting at least 5 meters behind the opposition. how are you going to lay tackles if first you have to catch your opponent. The playing a spare man in defense also always kills us as the opposition run off us using that spare man as our players leave their player to intercept only to have the ball handpassed or kicked over their head to the player they left, this is repeated all the way down the field until they goal, or in the odd occasions we intercept or they kick a point, at which time we turn the ball over because the opposition is playing man on man. Man to Man leaves it with a contest and chance. Who is on what side of the ball, who can use their body or run on to it, etc... leaving the opposition to run into space that we have no witches hats (read MFC player) resulted in goal after goal, while our players were protecting the corridor, etc..
 11. Dunn was out injured will he be available for next week? I would not expect Gillies to play, and jack Watts who knows where if anywhere he will play? And though not in the back line all the time Sellars position looks a bit iffy as well?
 12. Where are we going to get the talls to combat the Weagles height especially in defense?
 13. Jamar just did not use his body on ryder allowed him to jump into him and use him as a step ladder to get the taps, those that Jamar got went to his feet, I was surprised at the number of times melbourne players behind him were clear, so obviously no talking to him to let him know where it should go.
 14. There is a lot wrong with the Dees at the moment, but they do have the players, we have beaten Essendon when they were on fire last year, we have taken it up to collingwood and other teams at times. That is the problem we do it sporadically, if the players are not behind the coach then we are doomed. Better to drop them and get player on board that will try. These guys were all selected by Melbourne as being top players from VFL, SAFL, etc.. so they have the capability, we just miss the game plan, some skill and the balls to get in and compete. Play second string players if need be they want to make it so will at least give a contest. Last year we had Maloney dragging the chain, this year we seem to have half a dozen others. Before yesterdays game, players were going through drills - handball receive, handpass off and the bump into the guy holding the pads, everyone i saw hit that pad with no intensity or urgency, yes it was a drill but please try to put a bit more energy in.
 15. KC no offense meant just that any news especially good news is greatly appreciated by supporters starved of good news
 16. coincidence maybe not!
 17. KC any chance of an update, we have about 186 users reading this topic trying to get some idea of how Demon players are going with Casey
 18. Is Tappy playing well, or just poor opposition, i.e. something like the demons.
 19. From the few times I have seen Spencer he has impressed with his work ethic, seen him chase down much smaller opponents and catch them and mark, kicking may not be his strong suit. Cannot be much worse in the ruck than Jamar, I dont understand why he keeps hitting the ball down in the path of the essendon players time after time, what were the melbourne players doing?
 20. i think a lot of people watching that game no matter who they supported would have booed the dees off for that performance. Its one of the few ways supporters can let the club and players know how they feel about their performance. If they want the applause then they need to take the jeers as well.
 21. A cunning zone defense, where our players stand around like witches hats while the opposition players run off in different directions, so once the balls kicked in usually to an unmanned player our players either continue to zone up or try to find their man who is usually streaming off towards their goals with the ball. they had 200 extra possessions, that is not accountable football. How can you have accountable football when your primary job is to be a witches hat and stand there waving your arms around. The players are being given two contrary instructions that they cannot resolve during the game. Sure it worked in practice because when we played witches hats to ourselves our own sloppy kicked resulted in the turnovers, or we would stop the play and do it again until we got it right, real life is not like that. We are playing sides that kick to position well and do not turn it over, especially when there is no pressure on them.
 22. On last nights performance I would put spencer or Gawn in the ruck and make clark our ruck rover, he at least got two clearances yesterday. Drop every player that is not trying to the Casey (sorry Casey supporters, I know its a terrible thing to do to your side). I would rather play a team of honest triers than continue to play best known players who think they are too good for the team. If they find they cannot get a game with Melbourne then who the hell will want them, and what will their financial earning power be. Our best known players are getting paid overs for what their skill levels are because we have the salary cap and have to use it by front loading. I wonder how many would get a contract elsewhere. Also whats to say that some of these well known players who wanted out were not shopped around quietly, but no one wanted them.
 23. The AFL just spent months damaging this brand while saying that everyone else that tanked was ok, maybe they should look at the damage they are doing to the brand. by the way where is the drugs investigation going besides nowhere, so if essendon players are found guilt do they loose any premiership points?
