  1. I still think we'll be keen to get back into the first round this year if at all possible.
  2. Hogan has delivered 80 plus goals in 2 years, 2 top 10 finishes in the best and fairest, a rising star win, been Melbournes most marketable player and cost half of what Boyd has. Boyds played a really good finals series but he's still miles behind Hogan. the thing to remember is if Hogan kicked better we'd be talking about a 60-65 goal season in his second year, he's better than a heap of the champion key forwards over the last 20 years in their first 2 years. Kudos to Boyd for playing well in a final but if you look at the body of work rather than 1-2 games it's laughable that they're even being compared.
  3. The thing you're either ignoring or missing was Macca, he did something very similar to what Roos did taught the dogs how to defend and play contested footy and Bevo was able to come in to a really solid list, and add the offensive layer, Macca deserves a lot of credit for where the Dogs are now, Bevo's done a great job, but it's really been built over both coaches.
  4. Amazing that Hamling was a cats reject and now a premiership player and a huge part of why the dogs won, shows smart recruiting can make all the difference.
  5. Boyd has heart, has a crack for every second he's on the ground.
  6. Yeah, i would say it'd be extremely unlikely, just thought i'd pop it on here anyways, he'd be a great fit for the Crows if they could somehow get the deal done.
  7. I think Matty Jones got the most out of his potential, drafted as a mature age player he probably thought he'd missed his chance at AFL level but he came in and played a few years and some pretty good game and had a crack in every game he played, even when others didn't all the time. all the best for the future matty.
  8. Fair call, i guess it's more the way flamingdees worded it that i'm unsure of, i think you could tell them no without telling them to f-off
  9. I just don't see that it achieves anything, assuming flamingdees is correct of course. especially given it's so close to when they were supposed to get more of an answer from Jesse
  10. I think it'd be silly to tell two sides to F-off rather than, look we'll know more in a week.
  11. Interesting, so how does that play out if the club told WCE and FRE where to go and Jesse tells them next week he wants to go home? i assume they're decent trade offers from both sides?
  12. and to add to that, i don't believe Jesse is going to be very worried about 1 performance when it's weighed against our overall improvement.
  13. I suppose that's what the club has to weigh up, it might not be a great comparison but i see as being a little similar to when Eddie Betts moved to the crows, he's certainly more highly thought of now, than he was then.
  14. Shows his standing within the club that we got this extension done 12 months early, clearly the club viewed Dom as a vital re-signing.
  15. Not related to us, but few posts on Facebook about Bryce Gibbs being interested in a move back to Adelaide. According to ESPN Australia, Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs is reportedly interested in a move back home to Adelaide. It is believed that Gibbs' management have been holding discussions with the Adelaide Football Club about a possible move to South Australia. Although, it should be noted - Gibbs has three years left to run on his current contract. Therefore, the only way to get to the Crows would be via trade. #AFLTRDON
  16. Our biggest issue as a club in my opinion is inconsistency of performance, and Motlops biggest issue as a player right now is also inconsistency of performance, his best is absolutely AA quality, not sure many would argue with that, but he's also very capable of soft efforts in the contest and going completely missing in games as well. I really think given where we're at, he's not the type of player we should be bringing in, especially given what it would cost to do so.
  17. We've implemented a totally different and much more attacking game plan and yet only conceded plus 2-3 points a game, i'd say that Rawlings who is in charge of team defense has done a fantastic job.
  18. Obviously i can't answer that because i have no idea how much he's on. but if a player who's signed a long term deal is put up for trade it means there are most likely some sort of issues there, or the clubs salary cap is very tight, so i'm not sure they can move him on without being willing to pay some of his salary. the big question is if another club thinks he's good enough to be their number 1 ruckman.
  19. Crameri is interesting now because if the dogs win his compo will reflect that the EFC cost him a flag. I personally don't believe the players should get compo, i believe they've been charged, they've failed to keep records, fill out forms correctly and so the only reason i can see the EFC wanting to consider paying them compo would be to avoid the true nature of the program becoming public, there is no doubt the players could paint a very different picture of things to what the AFL has painted.
  20. It's pretty unlikely, but so is 90% of what's suggested on this thread,
  21. Oh good, Scoop also said McDonald was off to the Swans so i feel better now.
  22. I reckon Lobbe will find a new home, RIchmond and the Dogs could use someone like that, but i think the backup ruckman with a bit more experience idea has some merit, if we lost Gawn and Spencer we'd be stretched pretty thin. even if he didn't get a number 1 ruck gig, i doubt he'd want to be competing with Maxy for a spot. While i don't think it'll happen, i reckon ProDee's reaction was a bit over the top, seen far worse suggestions on this thread than Lobbe.
  23. really feel for Josh, having to be an 18 year old key forward in that side with such huge expectations on him, i really think they'd do well to look at someone like Dawes just to provide him with some help/cover. and take the pressure off
  24. I wonder if we'd be looking at Billy Hartung, outside mid who fits the age profile that suits our list, and i reckon he'd be gettable
