  1. I thought he made a bit of an impact in the back end of the year, another full pre season/injury free run and i reckon he'll jump to a new level in 2017
  2. He needs to either improve his speed quite a bit, or find a role where he isn't found wanting in this area, i really hope a full pre season can help him recapture his early career form and he'll be a huge bonus for us going forward. either way he's proved the doubters wrong and made it back to AFL level for those few games which is a gigantic effort, if he can do that i am backing him in to find an extra yard and lock his spot down
  3. Haha sorry mate, this was a joke that i made in response to another poster.
  4. It's amazing that despite 539 attempts they've not been able to snag any of the players they've targeted yet. Hilarious that Lobb re-signed today as well!
  5. Strong rumour that wce are making a godfather offer to cripps
  6. Compulsory: every player takes 100 shots at goal before and after training, some sort of internal penalty if they miss too many of those, it's a skill that doesn't get nearly enough attention in my opinion.
  7. Calling it early but i reckon Hogan will kick 65 goals next year with a new and improved goal kicking style and Salem, Watts and Hibberd hitting him lace out 4-5 times per game.
  8. He said we were specifically looking to add experience in the backline, and hope that Hibberd and Melksham will help improve this area, this tells you that our two most experienced defenders in Dunn and Garland who have spent the majority of the year in the VFL are not in our plans going forward. Yes he mentioned they'd like a third tall/ backup ruckman or an outright second ruckman but feel they have some options in this area so it will depend if there is someone on offer who fits what we're after. i don't think we'll be doing much trading beyond the deals involving Dunn and Hibberd, potentially Garland and Dawes if there are any takers.
  9. Not sure mate, i guess it depends how well Neeldy can talk him up to Woosha, Personally i'd be more inclined to think we'd offer something like Neal-Bullen and 44 for Hibberd or some sort of swap of picks but i'd be guessing. I would still be having a really good look at Eric Mackenzie, i really think the extra experience down back in the key position stocks would be great, his best is AA level and he'd take the pressure off Tommy.
  10. Yup absolutely! he just needs to simplify it, treat it like a field kick and he'll be fine, Jesse is a beautiful kick of the ball, but he's got a horrid run up with his stutters and jumping jacks and what not
  11. Tom Lynch (Crows) style lead up forward? Garlo has a bit of toe, reasonable hands on the lead and he's been around a while, but i agree, rather than just letting him rot in the back pocket at Casey, might as well try something, having said that i reckon there will be a team that grabs him on the cheap.
  12. I have heard that we're shopping Garlo around with essentially a free to good home tag on him and not getting a lot of interest, i think the club is hoping someone might take him off our hands for a third rounder or something. not a great sign when the GM of footy says on trade radio that they're worried about our experience down back when we have Dunn and Garland sitting in the VFL
  13. With the Hibberd deal, both parties have known for ages this was happening so no doubt they will have it all fairly hashed out, i personally think pick 26 is fair, EFC have to remember he's had 12 months totally out of the AFL system, so i think pick 26 is quite generous, i'd see that as fair Currency if he'd played this year.
  14. it also allows him to see how things go under Goody before deciding if he sticks around long term, in three years time i feel we should be top 4 and contending, but look at a side like the Pies, coaching transition doesn't always work perfectly. smart move i reckon, i assume the perth rumours probably added a few $$ to his new deal as well.
  15. “Obviously a lot has been made of me being a Perth boy, but the Club has been great in allowing me to head home when I can and that’s something that’s made my decision much easier. They’ve been really good with my situation and something that I am really appreciative of.”
  16. Thank god for that. to the pub!!
  17. Never heard of him.
  18. It's factually incorrect. To suggest Jesse is anything but 100% committed to his afl career is a joke. The only question is where he will play.
  19. I don't imagine them putting it all over the AFL website if the Lions hadn't confirmed it to them, so i'd say RIcho needs a new source.
  20. I suspect this is the case, and the club either has no new info, or they're in total lock down out of respect for Jesse's personal situation.
  21. Barrett claiming on AAA that there is zero movement or developments on a new contract for Jesse, while part of me thinks he just wants Jesse to leave because he has always hated the MFC, i have a bad feeling that he might be right.
  22. I find this comment a bit funny from his manager, how can the Lions be willing to shop around Hanley and Rockliff but aren't willing to commit to a short term, low money contract for Dunn.
  23. The other thing i was a bit annoyed about was Ralph mentioning the nature of Jesse's old mans illness, unless Jesse has said himself it's fine, surely he could just say personal matters, really silly move on his part and i would hope the MFC makes contact with him and tells him to keep his mouth shut about the players personal issues if it doesn't need to be mentioned.
