WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
What replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Similar in the way they attack the man and the footy, and love to tackle. They are both maniacal at the contest and the man. Its a joy to watch. THey are both born leaders. However if you've seen them play, their actual playing style is not too similar at all. Id compare Jack Viney to Sam Mitchell/Joel Selwood. Whereas Oliver WInes is closer to a Colin Sylvia/Trent Cotchin The biggest difference between the two is that Wines loves to get forward of centre and hit the scoreboard.. Loves a goal. It is a great trait to have Would kill to have both players at the MFC. -
Absolutely clueless. Stop posting, you clearly have no idea how this father/son thing works.

Can someone tell me who led the combine results for the following categories - Leadership ability Ferocity at the contest Tackling Contested ballwinning ability Hands in close Core strength Balance Oh wait , how silly of me. The combine doesn't actually measure footballing ability, just athletic ability hence why that black american guy dominated a bunch of tests. Carry on....... -
Ive never even heard of him., Probably cos I don't listen to the radio I guess.

Blown away that some people cant see the value in this signing, but its good that the majority seem to have a clue What does Shannon bring to the MFC - 2 time premiership player for the Cats Fantastic leader Elite trainer (hes about to head to Kokoda beofre preseason even begins) FIlls 2 needs for us - gives us a small forward (finally) and adds pace to the team Cost us nothing but his salary Knows what a strong culture is like Fantastic team mate by all reports, a positive influence on the youngsters This is a great pick up for the Demons, and hes going to be one of the guys leading the way come start of pre-season and the boys are going to love him. -

Nice hyperbole. Viney knows he is coming to the MFC. pick 3 or 26, who knows.. But he will be a Demon. Loving all the media mind games though., Also loving Jacks passion. -
Martin sucks and is already 27 you gotta be kidding me that he would be preferable to Dawes

getting both Viney and Wines would be absolutely orgasmic. Talk about a duo to lead the Dees midfield into the next decade. Other tea,ms will not know what hit them, these 2 kids are absolutely maniacal in their attack on the footy and man. Pretty sure they are old mates too? -

hahaaha yeah Martin is totally better than a 24 year old key forward who kicked a combined 57 goals and took a combined 200 marks in Collingwoods two grand final years what a joke Martin is nothing, he has done nothing at AFL level and never will. Dawes will be the perfect support for Mitch inside forward 50. I hope we land him. -
hes a solid backman Hes nowhere near as good as Jack

Viney will be ours, i can only laugh at anyone suggesting we would not use pick 3 on him The kid will be the best player from tihis draft, not to mention he loves the MFC and would never leave us like for example, Tom Scully and Scott Thompson -
hope Melbourne make him an offer he cant refuse, like we did to Mitch
-
Thank christ for that Ive never seen the guy play a decent game. he is laughably overrated and does not do anything well, including finding the footy.

This is one of the worst posts I have ever seen Your logic is this - because Ablett and Watson were taken in the 40's 10 years ago (completely insignificant to whats happening in 2012, but thats another story), the Demons should let Viney go to Gold Coast because we arent going to get him with a 2nd rounder. Never mind the fact Viney is a clear top 5 talent. and pick 3 is a fair price for him. He is clearly better than 2 of the kids you listed, and Id have him equal with Whitfled and Toumpas. Go watch last years TAC cup grand final and then tell me he isnt a top 5 talent. And on top of that he is an animal with his attack on the footy and is a born leader. Cant wait til he lines up for the MFC in round 1 2013. -

Wrong. Makes me laugh when a Demon supporter thumbs their nose at any player, let alone a guy that kicked a combined 67 goals in 2009 and 2010 for the dominant Cats. He will bring with him elite training principles and a winning culture. He is more accomplished than anyone on our list. He has played in many big games in September. Not to mention this club has not had a small forward for 7 years. He will be a welcome addition to the MFC for a couple of years while the youngsters develop. -
Not even close to 'the end' This club is crying out for a couple of quality small forwards. Currently we have zero.
-
Umm what? Where did you get this from? Link please

Danyle PEarce and Chris Knight

Very ordinary player. Obvious delisting.

Astonished at how early this call has been made. Key position forward taken at pick 12 delisted after less than 2 years at the club. Wow.
