A Jakovich firmly at Full Forward. Doesn't have the longevity helping him, but he as the best goalkicker we have ever had. And a match winner. Pretty sure Jaka is the only MFC player to average over 4 goals per game for their career (not including his 7 games at the Bulldogs that dipped his career average just under 4)... Fred Fanning averaged 3.95. And speaking of Fanning why isn't he in any of the teams? 411 goals in 104 games, VFL/AFL record 18 in one game and an MFC record of 97 in one season.

To anyone that still thinks we overpaid by trading some speculative picks out for Lever, watch his highlight reel on afl.com. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2017-10-12/get-excited-lever-flies-as-one-to-the-dees Nick Riewoldt like in his marking ability, timing and courage. There are 16 other clubs that would have killed to get him to their club. When was the last time we had someone with this marking ability the club? And dont say Jeremy Howe, sure hes good for the highlight reel when he gets a run at it but he doesn't have the courage or ability of Lever, not even close. Lever will be a champion of the game, not just the MFC.

In addition to Lever, the Crows gave the Demons pick No.35 and their 2018 third-round selection. Didn't realise we got the extra third round pick next season.

Im over my mini whine from 20 minutes ago about the picks we gave up. Screw the picks. We just landed the best young defender in the entire competition. Yes, the Melbourne football club did. The place nobody wanted to set foot in 5 years ago. What a time to be alive.

Cos thats too much. Hes not worth two top 20 picks, you don't just add an asset especially when pick 20 is so valuable. We would need something back.

And if anyone at the club is whining about Lever being paid so much it tells me our culture problems are money related - players care more about their salaries than the club, and are more concerned about what other players are making than earning their own paypacket and working their asses off.

A big summer woking on his 1 on 1 defending is what is needed for Lever. Hogan will be a great training partner in that regard. Will he be the next Rance/G Jakovich, or will he just be a better version of Jared Rivers?
BRETT BURTON: Extremely disappointed that Lever is leaving. His decision is financially motivated. Yeah it has nothing to do with living in that dump Adelaide and wanting to be back home in Vic.
