Fans who leave after the Fremantle v Carlton afternoon clash can hand their tickets back. Others can buy them for $10 to access to the Western Bulldogs v Geelong game starting 7.40pm local time, and the money goes to the Children’s and Women’s Hospital. The Presets will also perform during the break between matches. This system has operated for many years at Wimbledon tennis and works well https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/apr/04/afl-gather-round-2024-south-australia-schedule-matches

Reap what you sow. The use of discretionary draft picks to prop up teams has now become a farce. The Suns, North and now the Eagles. Hawks fans will be screaming

It was open slather. No salary cap. Collingwood almost went to he wall. MFC was a division of the MCC just like their lawn bowls club etc. In 1967 Richmond became a co tenant at the MCG. (Before that every supporter of another club would always come to the MCG game against us because it was the only ground where most could sit and watch a game in comfort) The list goes on Our zone was not as productive as others is another factor often mentioned

I did not know there was a double header. No Adelaide team being involved this year makes sense. Would be interesting to see quarter by quarter attendance figures across the day. A great day for a neutral supporter to dip in and out of the football and surrounding parklands/restaurants/food trucks.

You don't They spent two first rounders on Kelly. They have had the number 1 pick in 2022 and 2023. (They could have had L Jackson for example.) Sumich's comments in this article in the Age are insightful https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/the-eagle-has-crash-landed-what-on-earth-has-happened-to-west-coast-20240402-p5fgrv.html

Our next level is not exactly bashing the door down BBB is of course a worry but his form will demand the first or second defender. If we played Schache he would get number 4. You can start to make a case for Tholstrup but he has lots of time and who would he replace. Once you include May any argument for Tomlinson disappears PS In a perfect world you'd be resting BBB and rely on Petty etc up forward. I think they need the extra nominal forward to cover Petty going back should May not get through the whole game
-
Five changes for the Crows.... reminds me of our revolving selections pre 2018
-
You can't really complain about that side. May's injury is a club call. If it goes wrong there's the ability to play Petty down back. JVR needs to fire (please)

The depth player such as Laurie, Tomlinson etc should definitely be exposed to other positions at VFL level. The reality of the modern squad is that you can't cover every position and develop players. Can Tomlinson play forward. Probably not but worth looking at. He did play wing IIRC at GWS in a rather good side. Laurie on the other hand is a perfect candidate for multiple roles. Could he have filled the Bowey role for example?

What they're saying over at West Lakes Boulevard
Diamond_Jim replied to Demon Dynasty's topic in Melbourne Demons
Adelaide are presently playing a chip and kick game as the corridor game is not working. Same with Hawthorn. Amazing how quickly the helter skelter style of the Pies etc has been countered. Kick straight and we win -
It's a long season so you have to invest your MFCSS wisely. Thursday is a regulation win. The Lions in the following match worry me a little more. Could do without a new injury each week
-
Last week he was 3-5 weeks so there's some movement. He'll need a couple of weeks at Casey so he's still a way off
-
Looking like Hawks Eagles and North making up 3 of the bottom 4. Wonder who will be the fourth
-
Crows played Friday in Perth. It's fair Look on the bright side. We are playing Adelaide when they are in a slump and the same with the Lions. Win those two and we are setting up a solid launchpad for top 4. Five weeks ago few if any would have thought we could win all three
-
Thanks for the training reports. Excellent input from everyone

Had a good game at Casey. If Chandler doesn't get up he could be in. PS Given that the sub is no longer a "medical" sub I wonder if we will relax the policy of debutants not being named as the sub There is of course Laurie who would come into consideration if Chandler is not available

Makes sense... precautionary

body language between Yze and Balme was interesting Yze just brushed past him as Balme tried to congratulate him
-
Lovely to see that smile on Yze's face

getting the Eagles back into contention is way more important to the AFL than supporting Tasmania
-
Can well understand Most of us have tried hard to forget that game bulldogs played an Adelaide team and played the Suns in Darwin. Those losses cost them a finals spot
-
Didn't we play Essendon last year
-
Starting to wonder what WCE's rebuild plan is
-
Fullarton hasn't done much at Casey but I understand your point on BBB. If May returns then Petty plays forward which allows bbb to be rested possibly
-
well I wasn't expecting those last two minutes Are we a chance????
