  1. Sparrow... definitely improving (and warranting his place)
  2. Sandringham is prickly as we know. Saints want to change the arrangement. Interesting info on costs. Only $50k more to field a stand alone AFL reserve team https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/wouldn-t-be-doing-the-right-thing-why-the-saints-could-split-from-their-vfl-team-20250424-p5lu12.html A split would have financial ramifications for both the Saints and the Zebras, though both clubs say they have the money to field their own VFL teams. The Saints – who received $26.1 million in AFL funding in 2024, behind only North Melbourne among Victorian clubs – say it would cost an additional $50,000 to run their own VFL team.
  3. Thought Sparrow showed much improvement. Still no dominant forward
  4. Our percentage pre game was 65% This was a chance to improve. Anyway we need the next two to get off life support
  5. Would also need to beat Eagles and then Hawks to get off life support
  6. Our percentage is woeful but we might make it a little better over the next two weeks. We need teams 8-12 to lose which would then put us one game and percentage behind. It's a very tough mountain to climb from here Hawks losing to the Eagles wouldn't hurt assuming we can beat both the Eagles and Hawthorn
  7. He finds space. In the new gameplan he could be useful. You need quick connectors. I'd like to see some detailed analysis of kicks/handballs to advantage but there could be something there
  8. It's normal I believe for the stand in emergency to play a half and then go on standby. Would not read overly much into it
  9. The third quarter against the wind was where the gameplan finally clicked. Exciting and entertaining
  10. VFL... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  11. Strong body work by JVR in that last minute
  12. The centre bounce dominance is magnificent
  13. Seems that way
  14. At last AJ !!!
  15. Johnson mmmm ????
  16. Much better third quarter. Made to look good by Richmond not packing their backline
  17. Nice connection ending in Jeffo goal
  18. Definitely better in the third quarter. Smart play by Johnson
  19. Not really a useful game for development of the gameplan due the howling gale. Tigers packing the defensive 50 just makes it worse. Only caught the last ten minutes. Forward 50 delivery unimaganitive Will watch the second half
  20. If we don't win it won't be pretty. Tigers and Eagles are the 2025 easybeats. Let's win for Essendon !!!
  21. Wouldn't you My only worry as a Tigers supporter would be Tasmania stuffing up the draft but if they go first pick this year and trade out another 28 year old for a low first they'll be set nicely for a rebound in 2-3 years
  22. Gov't has a requirement of a "commercial return" on assets. Included in that return in some instances is a "social return". There's a lot of water yet to flow. At a minimum we will need to pay for our share of the ground staff, car park etc etc. Then there is the rent on the admin building. Why would that be subsidised?
  23. They are the main tenant and the driving force for the complex. Don't underestimate the compromises they will ask for including a reduced ground rent or similar that we will need to make up.
  24. We seem to get an injury a week this season. Doesn't explain our woeful year but it's hard to build consistency
