Problem with that is I don’t see us getting the two first round picks - prepare to be disappointed Personally if Fremantle is his preferred I’d rather walk him to the PSD and Norf - why would we accept unders and make one of our main competitors stronger
-
That’s a pretty fair assessment of where things are at for Sam. He has the tools but doesn’t know how to use them - still too easy to defend and still lacks any real physical presence One of his goals came from a blocking free which we see happen in almost every pack situation - he was pushed aside like a feather in the breeze - BBB isn’t a lot better in this area I don’t think we are asking him to be David Neitz and the raging bull but a physical contest and commitment to every contest is expected. At present our forward half isn’t getting this part of the game right - it’s not just Sam’s fault but he doesn’t help fix it

I hope it’s not JV

In my opinion Petty is our best tall key defender - pity we don't have two of him then we could afford the luxury of having him play forward May has been better but he seems good for at least 1 or 2 absolute howlers per game these days gifting the opposition easy goals - needs to eliminate from his game asap If Smith is fit I'd be tempted to give him a run in the F50 - but its unlikely given he has missed so much football
-
And once again the afl site stream for this game does not work
-
Exactly he hasn’t said anything yet - people here are getting too far ahead of themselves IMO

There are no two scenarios that are the same in trading My point was simple - if a player and club mutually agree to a trade it can happen - your comment implied the long term contract in itself was a blocker - it isn't
-
Isn't Grundy on a long term contract ? Doesn't seem to prevent speculation about him being traded - if the player and club agrees to a trade contract status would be secondary wouldn't it?

20/20 hindsight - they were spot on 😀

I get the feeling reading this thread everyone wants to leave 🙄

The video shows Pickett's high tackle is a free kick if seen from one angle but not from another - Yep this is going to be a real crowd pleaser
-
Not high on my list of things to do either

slight overreaction to someone pointing to a different approach

Geelong says hi

Not opposed to Petty being tried in the F50 as I also think we are lacking contested marking in the forward half with TMac missing and the Dogs are weak in the back six IMO. The flipside to that is they now how Naughton, Bruce and JUH in the F50 so we may need to keep Petty back this week Tomlinson played well so not easy for the selectors not to reward his efforts - personally I would prefer him taking the kick outs over May. He generally does that role well at Casey - how that translates to AFL level is anyone's guess though

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT

On this sort of analysis you'd have to say Jack Ginnivan is a champ (JG vs KP) - averages per game in career kicks 7.8 v 6.9 marks 3.2 v 2.1 goals 1.8 v 1.3 I don't think anyone here would do a swap for Ginnivan btw -
On recent form that would be a major switch I have a bad feeling about them and what the next game against them may mean fir our top 4 chances - hopefully I’m way off
-
Well that wouldn’t be too hard tbh
-
The most impressive thing about that highlights package is the jumping castle over the fence
-
Based on what exactly ? Other than the fact he hasn't signed a contract extension yet
-
I don’t think that is fair - he is a pretty talented footballer and has played very very well in many games for Casey Laurie is a different type of small - not as quick but extremely hard to move off the ball and has an excellent football brain which allows him to usually make the right decision in terms of disposal and then generally executes extremely well The knock on him so far from my perspective has been not getting enough of it and questions over his ability to cover enough ground and at sufficient speed to perform at AFL level. His most recent game against Geelong was probably his best to date but I’m still not 100% convinced he is fit enough. He is an interesting one because I sense he could be the type of player that thrives with better players around him in which case he would possibly perform better than most of promoted
-
I think that was JVRs best game to date - progressing quite nicely Is it time to promote him - I’m still not convinced - this game against Port is an absolute must win so if the selectors think including him represents our very best team and chance to win the game I guess that’s good
