  1. Thanks LN - my comment was meant as a joke and to be light hearted given the commentary around LJ In hindsight and knowing the circumstances it was not appropriate
  2. Where does his mum live
  3. Great bikes are those Nortons
  4. Probably the same reason Tomlinson and Joel Smith were not selected as tall backs in the latter half of the season Our current highest ranked starting talls in D50 are Petty, May and Lever. I'd love to see us play Petty in the F50 next season probably replacing BBB - should that happen it would open up a spot for one of Turner, Tommo or J Smith I've watched a lot of Casey this year and IMO Turner has as much upside as JVR who many are touting as the next big thing. This is certainly not a criticism of JVR btw - both are very young, still learning and still building AFL level fitness and size
  5. Max looks as flat as a pancake - I suspect most of us have the same hollow feeling watching the remaining finals particularly seeing Brisbane still involved who I simply don't rate He acknowledges that we need to work on some things which to anyone who watched this team in the second half of the 2022 season would know all too well He knows that we have a capable list to be in contention again but as history has shown if you fail to evolve and change opposition teams will quickly learn how to counter your strengths and expose your weaknesses. Come 2023 IMO we need to create a better system of transitioning the ball from defense to inside F50 and improve our personnel and structures in the forward half - tick those boxes and we can challenge again
  6. Agree and I'll say it once more H Petty IMO is our best defender - yes better than May and Lever
  7. Actually to be fair he was performing well enough to be selected and was selected against Collingwood - unfortunately he was concussed with a heavy knock in that game - I am very confident that the FD have a very different view on this young mans potential than you do
  8. statistical anomaly
  9. What have you got there GNF
  10. reading between the lines it looks like this guy might
  11. Might be adding Grundy before too long
  12. Earlier this year I was a fan of Gawn spending more time in F50 but he was pretty poor there this season IMO. His kicking is unreliable (that's being extremely generous) and his ability to compete once the ball hits the ground is not great which is understandable for someone his size.
  13. Too small to be a KPF
  14. What all that tells me is that we should be seriously considering playing Petty forward next year He is our best tall defender IMO (yes better than May) but we need to play him forward and find a replacement in the back 6 that can cover the 195cm + talls - problem is I don't think that's Tommo - it could be Turner but he is probably a bit small - it could be Weideman but I just can't see him ever being a defender, it could be Joel Smith because he does have the spring to compete/spoil taller opponents
  15. Very sorry to see LJ go - I think he will be an absolute champion of the game - some may not agree but he is a unique talent I hope its the right decision for him and I just don't believe its about the dollars. However, I can see some tough times ahead for him if his performances don't live up to the lofty expectations of whichever supporter base he plays for next I just hope we get fairly compensated and use that compensation wisely - we have seen this season that each year we must improve our list to remain competitive - as it stands right now we are at least one big step backward - I really hope that when the dust settles we all feel like we have made a decent leap forward
  16. Two of the most pathetic gift goals I’ve ever seen - total panic stations
  17. Trac looks v v sore not sure he should be out there
  18. Sydee replied to damienjr's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fremantle are a joke - don't want to trade a player that can't get a regular game in the 1's - don't have any decent picks to trade but still want to attract players from other clubs to join them Dream on !
  19. Sydee replied to damienjr's topic in Melbourne Demons
Irrespective of what needs to be given up the real question is whether he is an AFL footballer - from the little bit I've seen the answer is no Having said that if our FD thinks he is up to it then I'm happy to defer to their judgement
  20. If, and it remains a big if, LJ decides to move west and a reasonable trade can be negotiated we are one Max injury away from being completely hapless in ruck That is unsustainable for any football club much less one that wants to be competing at the pointy end of the season Even if LJ stays we are still very much in need of a back up ruck - for all those suggesting Weid can be competitive in the ruck I don't agree - we don't have to pay overs for this player (see Tom Hickey, Rhys Stanley as examples) I'm sure our recruiting team has a list of potentials for ruck depth - we need to improve our depth in that space in the offseason
  21. I think that makes sense - he looked a long way off being ready to make an impact at AFL level in his one and only Casey game back from serious injury
  22. Smart
  23. What ? Am I not allowed to find it funny Take a chill pill
