  1. I think the fact now that PJ is in place, DM stepped down and more board members to follow, are main reasons why these coaches are now considering it. The AFL have stepped in, so they know they'll have their support as well.
  2. Ashley Browne from AFL.com makes a few realistic points to pursue Clarkson http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-17/dees-must-pursue-clarko
  3. AFL.com are doing the LIVE feed once again. Lucky us, http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-17/live-neeld-sacked Story, http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-17/neeld-out
  4. Trade the pick. If we do get it.
  5. I must admit I cannot see a better Captain for Melbourne than Chris Dawes. Jones deserves it more than anyone else, Grimes has done a great job so far, Clark was also another potential, but Chris Dawes just "ticks all the right boxes". I am definitely not a fan of any first year player being captain so fast, but unfortunately we ain't a normal team at the moment.
  6. I'm sick of hearing about the "poor" players and how it's obviously the coach because not all are on board. I think it's complete rubbish. They are suppose to be professional footballers. Most of our boys can't even hit a target on game day, causing turn overs that you see in Under 18's football. The day we have more than 25% of our players on that field playing like professional AFL footballers. Will be the day we turn this club around. It is completely true when most on here say our best 22 would struggle to get a game for a club like Hawthorn, Geelong etc. It's absolutely true. Neeld took on a poor list and can only do what he can do with what he has. Looks to me like the talented more experienced players do not have a problem with Neeld (Clark, Dawes, Garland, N.Jones etc) , it's just all the sooks we have had at the club for years now who refuse to work hard. Let em go and let's get players who actually want to work hard effort after effort after effort. Matty Jones and Dean Terlich are certainly not A grade footballers. But they just keep continually working hard. Hence why they get all the disposals and the others don't.
  7. So PJ staying on till 2014 and possibly news to come about Neeld
  8. 4pm: Still waiting to hear the outcome of the board meeting, if any. (www.afl.com.au) Nothing's happened.
  9. Oh well reports saying Neeld spent 90 mins instead of his usual 30 mins at the meeting. Drove straight past reporters and headed back to AAMI
  10. LOL. Same I have about 7 tabs open constantly refreshing. Though now I'm starting to think there is not going to be any big announcements today and the media are just doing what they do best. Stir up a storm over nothing.
  11. Well the effort he put in yesterday certainly backs up his mouth. Let's hope he can continue week in week out. Has definitely become my first pick now at being captain to lead this club out of the misery it sits in.
  12. I very much doubt MN is getting sacked. I Think PJ feels he's the right man for the job, it's more than likely DM is standing down as club President. Guess we'll all know very soon.
  13. Trade him for the best mid we can get, while he is still worth something. Can't see him ever developing in our current side and just like someone said before why on earth would we give him another run at forward. We have Dawes and Clark with Hogan ready for next year. His chances are gone. Plus you can't be a power forward with his softness. Will never work.
  14. Well I got called a Keyboard Warrior for saying what I thought last week. He's gone at seasons end. He's not planning to hang around. But hey, what do I know
  15. Well it was Neeld and Browny that paid Dawes a visit last year at his home. Obviously worked
  16. Keyboard Warriors lol. I only stated what I personally thought of Col's future in the AFL, which I am more than entitled to, it's an open forum.
  17. I couldn't stop laughing when that happened. Neeld's face was like WTF? at first and then after his deep voice spill (the sub on my stereo got a workout when he spoke), you could see Neeld was thinking "about time someone said it" He couldn't be more correct. Effort, hardness and competitiveness is not something an AFL coach should even be touching on. It's something every player must have and must do each and every week. Can't wait to see Clark and Dawes on at the same time. We've missed the 2 big boys up forward since Neitz and Schwartz?
  18. Exactly! That's the one and only reason why I wanted him elevated. It's called work rate. Something most of our starting 22 lack.
  19. I hope we do manage to get him then. I don't really care who we lose to get established players anymore. I just want to see 22 players in the Red and Blue, playing their guts out each week. Playing to hold their position in the team. Shepparding to protect the ball carrier. Making effective tackles and turning the ball over. The basics we lack. It wouldn't even bother me if we changed more than 50% of our list. We know the ones who work hard will stay.
  20. Hahaha, trust that to be the first thing you noticed Benson
  21. Yeah that was only when John Northey took over as coach in 86, we made finals in 87.
  22. Hero Cheers thanks man. That just made my day. I do like to state my thoughts, but if just saying that comment is making me a hero, than that is really awesome.
  23. Same. Though I think Sylvia's recent form has just been fueled by motivation to get higher offers to leave.
  24. No one is saying we are. It's just some no name journo's suggestion. But we seem to be the only club that gets constantly picked on. I just wish we can sort out the poor pathetic on field performances and push the attention onto someone else. for a change.
