  1. I noticed that, yet he now has Chesser as a first rounder going to us at #17. Major change of heart by 'Knightmare'.
  2. Thanks, I missed that. While unlikely that Mac Andrew slides, its good to see we also nominated him. The Saints have 4 NGA nominations. It is unlikely they will take them all.
  3. Twomey doesn't throw names around which makes his mention of Anthony Caminiti linked to us quite interesting, albeit as a rookie. A profile for him is anthony-caminiti Height: 196cm, Weight: 83kg STRENGTHS: + Mobility + Leading Patterns + Overhead Marking + Clean Hands + Scoreboard Impact IMPROVEMENTS: - Strength - Exposure SUMMARY: In a draft crop dominated by midfielders, clubs may be more willing to take chances on developing talls a little higher up the order. In Caminiti's case, he'd be an ideal late-round or rookie option given his upside and rate of development, with exciting traits which can be enhanced at the next level. He is mobile and comfortable in possession, adding a bit of dynamism to go with his goalkicking and marking ability. It sounds like that with a bit of development he could be a very good forward.
  4. Chesser is interesting. Twomey has him at 24 but could go as high as 12. I've browsed 'Knightmare's' draft thread on bf and he doesn't have Chesser in his top 50 rankings. Doesn't rate him It will be interesting to see where he is picked.
  5. In his Phantom Draft, Cal Twomey says we have nominated Andy. He thinks he will join us as a rookie. In his case it will be as a 'B' rookie.
  6. Good to see Andy M-W nominated. Seems destined to be a 'B' rookie.
  7. No, it wasn't. In one of the earlier finals Goodwin was asked at one of the qtr breaks, his advice to the players. His response: Be yourself. He was saying to his players bring the best version of yourself. 'This is Me' meant something different to each player. It was the trigger to help them find that best version during the year. It is worth listening to the song again. Inspirational for anyone who has self doubt or wants to bring out the best in themselves. .
  8. They do. In one of the DL podcasts a few years ago, I recall PJ talking about sponsor bonuses for finals games. iirc correctly it was in the context of the real cost of playing Home games in NT - losses there or the week after could cost us making the finals and the subsequent sponsor bonuses. Next year we will have a lot more FTA prime time games so it makes sense for Jaguar to get back on board. But as @Darkhorsesaid our asking price (and maybe the length of the contract) could be sticking points. Pert would have a good idea of the asking price and terms from his Collingwood days. The price/terms could be a lot higher than with the last contract.
  9. iirc Kropinyeri is his birth Surname. Not sure when or why Pickett was added.
  10. Our examples are discussing different things with different statistical bases. I'm not even going to try to bring the two views to a statistically equivalent basis. Suffice to say comparing the examples we have quoted is like comparing apples and oranges. The point was that the impact of influenza can be just as bad as covid and we need more people have flu vaccines to avoid dealing with both diseases simultaneously.
  11. There is report that indicates the impact of Influenza is as bad as or worse than covid 19. after-two-years-of-low-cases-big-influenza-season-is-coming "Influenza cases this year have been more than 236 times lower than the five-year average for the same period, with just 600 lab-confirmed influenza cases and no deaths to date, the federal Department of Health said. It’s in stark contrast with the last pre-pandemic flu season, in which more than 306,000 lab-confirmed cases and 948 deaths were recorded, according to the National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System. There were nearly 247,000 cases and 1163 deaths in 2017". I don't know how those numbers compare to the covid case/death numbers over the same time but it doesn't look good. Admittedly, in Victoria we have been in lockdown for much of that time to halt the spread of the flu but not in all states. Influenza can be a dangerous disease. Hopefully more people will get the flu vaccine and reduce the risk all round. Or we could be dealing with large case numbers for both illnesses.
  12. @La Dee-vina ComediaI tried putting a '1' but it got a little lost amongst all the other data. So have put in a instead. Will add more Premiership Cups as they come 🙃🙂🙃. Here is a preview of the 2022 chart with games played. If anyone sees any errors please let me know. In updating the no of games I noticed that: Viney played his 150th game in the GF. I knew it at the time but the didn't appreciate the significance. Doubt many players in AFL history have achieved such a significant milestone in a winning GF. Jordon is accredited with 25 games. He took the field either as a player or a sub in 21 of those games. To me that makes him a worthy recipient of a GF medal as he played a key role in helping us get there. Moreso than any other player. I will update the draftees and list size after the draft.
  13. I usually update games annually after the draft, when I create the new list for the following year. So look for the 2022 thread late next week.
  14. LOL, misread my own Contracts chart!!
  15. Not sure how I ended up with two posts. I tried to edit the first and it disappeared 🤔. So will leave both. The table is the same, text slightly different.
  16. Updated for Petty and Fritsch contracts. Petty will be an RFA and Fritsch will be an FA at the end of their respective contracts. We have an incredibly stable list with probably only 3 'unforced' delistings: Hore, Declase, Lockhart. Very different form recent years of 10-12 each year. A list that has just one a premiership and will stay together for the next 5+ years.
  17. Wouldn't mind signing Gus and Charlie. Oliver OOC next year. Not that I think they would leave. LJ unsigned but story a little while back that it is happening. Fully expect our stable list to continue for some years to come.
  18. An outstanding interview. Great to get some insights into the external mentors/influences for his own growth: Neil Craig, Mark Viscus (surfing), an interest in the neuro sciences, 'normalising' anxiety: it is ok to be anxious, the 'This is Me' song from the Greatest Showman. Interestingly it was played in the rooms during the warm up for GF. It is the most relaxed Goodwin I have heard. It is great to hear him happy, joking and confident. In prep for next year and beyond he is going to work over the next 4-5 weeks with the coaches and talk to clubs (inside and outside football) that have won premierships multiple times.
  19. Update for the Petty and Fritsch contract extensions. The Petty extension is until 2025 when he will be an RFA. At the end of Fritsch's contract in 2026 he will be an FA. No change to our list or draft position since the last update. This has been an amazingly small list turnover, almost all 'forced' changes: Jones and Jetta retired, Vandenberg going on to a new career, Nietschke had a long term injury, Bradtke (I think) had no more years left as a rookie. So only true delisting were one from the senior list (Hore) and two from the rookie list (Lockhart and Declase). A very stable list, one which just won a Premiership!
  20. RR midfield that doesn't run both ways to defend and therefore put their backline under pressure. We exploited that mercilessly in the last part of the 3rd (Premiership) and 4th quarters. They maintained CB setups to attack and when they woke up to what was going on it was too late. Game virtually over at 3/4 time. Its the same problem we had. It wasn't until our midfield learnt to defend (roll back, run both ways, zone to protect space, tackle hard) that our back 6 had a fighting chance to keep op score to approx 60pts, which they achieved in nearly every game, incl each final.
  21. Well, spill the beans od!!
  22. Can someone with access give the gist of the article, please.
  23. Thanks for a great write up D_I_O. Its really good to have all that info at our fingertips.
  24. Richmond have a fistful of second round draft picks. In a draft that is said to be very even from 20 to 45 they have every chance of getting some excellent talent that can play next year, as we did with our draftees (LJ, Kozzie, Rivers and Bowey). I don't think they will win in 2022 but will be thereabout. Geelong also have a fistful of second round draft picks and could quickly rejuvenate their team to avoid a deep slide. Am starting to revise my view of them tumbling down the ladder in the next year or two.
  25. The posters are both folded and I think the back of the right hand one says 'Bill', so it would be 'Kill The Bill, Dan'.
