FIXTURE: Rd 12 to 15
huge-mcg-clashes-to-headline-next-block-of-the-afl-fixture/ "The Round 12 fight for prime time will be hotly contested between the Hawthorn-Collingwood, Melbourne-Sydney and Western Bulldogs-Geelong matches. The Richmond-Carlton and GWS-Western Bulldogs matches in Round 14 and the Melbourne-Brisbane and Geelong-Richmond meetings in Round 15 are also expected to feature prominently". I would have thought Melb-Syd was a no brainer for round 12. Ditto Melb-Brisb in round 15. Most of the other games are between mid table teams. In round 13 we play Coll on QB and have a bye in round 14.

Membership Tally 2022
Today is 'Membership Day' on SEN. Club has a special promotion: 6 Home games GA membership for $66.00. Has priority access ticket rights to first 3 rounds of finals ie not the GF. I just bought 2 for friends/family who might want to come along. They are GA memberships so can't sit in my level 2 Reserved Redlegs area but seats can be reserved for them at $30 each for level 2A to sit together. Pretty good deal! Detail here: membership/666-6-games Edit: I bought them on my account but they can also be bought in for a new member account if that is preferred. I found it a lot easier to just buy them and allocate them as each game comes up to whoever is free to go to the game. Just rang the club and done in a few minutes.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Saw footage of how Darcy plays. He also took his eyes off the ball and waited till Pittonet leapt before jumping in with his knee. Pittonet out with a PCL. Like Draper's action it looked deliberate. As soon as a ruckman takes his eyes off the ball at a CB the umpire should call a free. Or do it often enough cited by MRO for rough conduct, fined and if need be suspended. We don't need the better/best ruckman to be taken out.

What They Are Saying at Glenferrie Oval
An update but not much optimism post our covid news: Just need another 10 to go down and we are a chance I still expect us to lose because they're clearly the top team and we're clearly inconsistent and around the middle. But we've shown we can play some very good football. We'd really be wanting to test ourselves here where as the stakes aren't nearly as high for them. If we're lucky we might catch them napping. Jackson, Pickett and Petracca would be massive losses. Big Maxy and Clarry should probably pop around and give them a cuddle and make sure they're ok. May can't drop past with the beers as well The worst thing for Melbourne would be for covid to run through the squad in finals. They really should all get around to Jackson's place for a session. Get it out of the way now Hopefully another 7-8 cases for them over the next couple of days. So a 12 goal margin has gone down to 11 They seem fixated about playing us on a 5 day break, conveniently forgetting we have only a 5.75 day break from a night game meaning post match recovery etc goes into the early hours of the next day.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
I was suggesting we go in with one ruckman. The only ruck Hawks have is Lynch who is a rookie. McElvoy and Ceglar both out injured. And while TMc does some ruck work he isn't a CB tap or clearance type ruckman so not sure he could play the Jackson role.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
If Jackson is out would we bring in another ruckman? Hawks aren't that tall and Max should take care of their rookie uckman on his own with only a little help from friends. Maybe we bring in Melksham for Jackson and Bedford for Kozzie (if Kozzie is in iso).

Thanks, I was aware of that. He seemed very proud of it! I'm hoping someone has old footy cards with autographs on them.

This is part of a dees jumper with 11 of the 1964 team autographs. I would like some help deciphering those between Graeme Jacobs 20, and Hassa 29. I think the first below Jacobs is Tassie Johnson, then John Lord but am at a complete loss as to the next. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: autographs were obtained at the 2014, 50th anniversary player reunion.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
I doubt it. He is the eyes and tactician in the box. In an interview recently he described the coaching role on the bench as giving player feedback and keeping their spirits up. We have Williams on the bench who they players are very used to having there so it should be fairly seamless.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Agreed. Too often Max ends up with knees in his chest but gets pinned for 'blocking' if he puts his arm out to protect himself and keep the ruckman at bay. Draper deliberately targeted Grundy's knees. There was a ball up after Grundy's right knee was injured where Draper stayed down, took his eyes off the ball and waited for Grundy to go up and then jumped just high enough to reach Grundy's (good) knee. Should have been cited for rough conduct. My immediate thought: thank God we have already played Ess and aren't up against Draper again this year.

COACHES VOTES: Round 6, 2022
Petracca is rapidly becoming our 'game changer'. When we need to get momentum back or go up a gear he steps up. He did it in the GF, he did it vs Ess and he did it on Sunday night. People just don't value that he is an impact player/game changer. He doesn't have to be excellent all game, every week.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
In his press conf Goodwin spoke about Weideman. One comment was that he took his opportunities. He said a significant point was when we were 4.16 and the pressure was on the next player having a shot. Weideman was that player. He absorbed the pressure and slotted it. Nailing a goal under pressure like that is another big step in his development. Regardless of what folks think his faults are I doubt he is being dropped any time soon.

COACHES VOTES: Round 6, 2022
Listen to Goodwin's post game press conf. When the team needed to change up Petracca stepped up. I would suggest the 2 votes came from Goodwin.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Parish set a record with the number of possessions. Will probably get high votes from both coaches (10 will go to the Akermanis clone). But gee Parish is a frustrating player; runs hard to get a possession but lopes around when it is time to chase. At the end of the first qtr yesterday he had 15 possessions with distance gained: 90 mtrs!!! Its circuit handball work for him. Talk about chasing Brownlow votes.

COACHES VOTES: Round 6, 2022

Rapt that Steven May is ranking so highly. Well deserved If one of our players isn't in the lead, I like that Andy Brayshaw is the clubhouse leader at this stage. He is a very good and fair player. Quite a spread in the top echelons of the leaderboard and only the Dees with two players in the top 10 drawing votes from each other unlike Brayshaw, Cripps, Higgins, Smith et al. Note: Votes for yesterday's games announced today so may affect the leaderboard. ADMIN EDIT: Included the votes from Yesterdays games into the leaderboard.

What They Are Saying at Glenferrie Oval
Bigfooty Their Round 7 Thread title says it all: Hawks v Dees at the G after a 5 day break......ouch. Other doom and gloom: Expecting a bloodbath. Time for my annual public service announcement for all Supercoachers to make big Maxy your Captain next week as we continue our time honoured tradition of kicking it to him at every conceivable opportunity Hope we don't go with the "kick it to Max Gawn" game plan even though its great for supercoach. Pretty much every other team seems to have adopted that tactic too . Would like for Finn to get a run with role with one of the Dees stars. Going to get spanked so give him an opportunity to play in his best position. Can actually see dees resting a few. Will beat us in a canter. don't shoot me for suggestion, but we may need to bring back older bodies (Shiels, Howe) to prtect younger players who are both gassed and will get murdered by Dees Doesnโt matter which way you cut it, weโre not getting close to the Dees. Manage anyone that needs it and make sure weโre cheery ripe for the bombers the following week. If we can put the final nail in their coffin, the season is a success. They get Lever and Viney back too. FMD. Gawn, Oliver and Petracca vs our midfield is going to be ugly. If Dees up their behinds from 22 to 35+ we could b in with a chance That (2021 draw)...was a real surprising result, bad sadly I can't see lightning striking twice. Melbourne just have this aura about them ATM, won something like 13 games in a row and have a flag behind them. Some optimisim, sort of: Good learning experience coming up. Petracca also looked pretty sore last night , May was feeling his hammy late, Jackson got a head knock so better to be safe than sorry . Think thats another 3 changes for them ...they are going to drop one. Who knows, it could be us. Why not. We could also lose by 12 goals and that's fine ... Well what did we do late last year to draw with this super power? 10 goal win My favourite: Dear Melbourne, please rest Max Gawn & Clayton Oliver. Theyโre both in desperate need of a break. Sincerely Hawthorn F.C Footnote: Their fan forum 'The Mighty Hawk' requires registration and login to read site. Couldn't be bothered. Enough reality and laughs from Bigfooty above.

Very sad. Had several hits to the head. The doctor dragged him off, after the knee to the head. He failed the concussion test.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Their was a few second footage shown of Paddy Mc talking with a medico in the rooms and he had his hands out in a pleading gesture. The medico seemed to just walk away while he was in mid sentence. I suspect there was a more to the discussion and it isn't possible to know what required her attention but I felt it was a time he needed a bit of TLC.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Difficult to see at the ground with a pack around him and not having tv commentary to hear the umpire. On the whole I don't think we played 'our way' in the fwd half for much of the night hence all the points.
