Early contender for worst post of the year. On what planet do you extend a contract 18 months out to a 31 year old who may be gutsy but is completely one dimensional & has had previous major injuries.

Our own fault. Stupid decision to re contract a 30 year old who still had a year & a half of his deal left to run. Dumb, dumb & Dumber by any measure.

Chalk & cheese. The conversation was that having an effective 2nd tier competition encourages players who miss out on the draft to play VFL & then have another crack at the big time. Flower's situation was completely different. He was 16 years old & wanted to train with our 4ths (under 17). He was knocked back a few times then invited to train with the under 17's. The rest is history. The Podsiadly story is more relevant or even Jai Culley.

The first 3 had inherent "smarts" or rat cunning necessary to be good forwards. Have seen none of that from Jeffo. He's still more Michael Newton for mine.

Totally agree. Similar to 2022. Selections were apalling. Did we actually have a selection committee ? - I doubt it - Goodies mits were all over the team. Unfit & out of form players rushed in or kept on while good form at Casey was totally ignored.

Incorrect in my football world. I've always accepted "breakout season" as being when an established player "elevates" & becomes a gun player, match winner or puts their hand up for B&F or AA.

Overhyping him ? Here on Demonland - shock horror - That has never ever happened. Firstly he needs to establish himself as a regular senior player - then after a few seasons he may elevate & have a breakout year. Demonland has never been short of hyperbole & hubris.

Its unrealistic until the chap has actually played some footy. I suppose it takes some pressure off Kentfield, Jeffo, Tholstrup, AMW who have been earmarked for greatness by some 'Landers before they were out of their proverbial football nappies.

I think BG inherited a mess & did a decent job in the circumstances.

The ACB & the Test Selectors should be sacked for incompetence. Ditto the MFC Board (except Brad Green) & the whole Football Dpt starting from the coach. (Should have happened 12 months earlier).

Sorry but your comments on Jefferson make no sense. Unskilled crash & bash forwards went out of the game more than 20 years ago. The last however many flags have been won by quick ball movement & precise delivery.
