  1. Hes the forward coach because he’s done a stellar job as a defensive coach?
  2. Finally we come to Chaplin. If I was Fritta I’d be saying if that’s the way you want me to play I’ll look for a new club. And yes why Goodwin puts up with coping all the blame for a loss when this bloke mucks the forward line up.
  3. Spare back? Isn’t it 666 at centre bounces?
  4. Yes to Campbell, I’d try Sharp in a role as you suggest or back pocket. only bc we have to try and get the best out of the talent we have at the Club.
  5. Im getting old and no expert in the modern game. However I believe this. When a team has a run on and our stars, Gawn Viney Oliver and Petracca or others gather in the middle I can nearly hear them saying. Win this contest charge forward and get a goal back. Would it be an idea to have one or two other plays, win the clearance, kick wide to a flank with a player running to that spot, or two players each running to a flank. Upset the predictable rhythm. It’s like a poorly drilled underage basketball team with a dominant centre who then just rush the ball down the middle.
  6. I have to disagree on a few points. Might have been 3 goals at 3/4 time but we were not in it as I saw it. He was coaching against a master coach and a hungry team. for mine Goody is done, not just on what he brings after so many seasons but what a hungry young coach might bring, to the game plan and the players. So thanks Goody, broke the drought, Club legend, but time to go.
  7. Im going to go positive When fit play Windsor, Lindsay Langford, Thorstrup, Chandler. JVR, Turner. Likely two of Oliver Petracca and Kossie will go at seasons end. That should give us good draft picks. That’s 10 promising young ones. I might have missed a few. Some selective recruiting to fill leadership hole they leave. Find out how long Max wants to play for and set a plan for him going forward, with proper support.
  8. It is incredible to watch. If I was Goodwin I would be saying to the forward coach, I’m not copping responsibility for your forward set up anymore. You have until Sat to come up with a new structure or your jobs gone. You will be holding the ditch’s hats
  9. Who are our opposition scouts. How did they not see that Xerra is a match for Gawn in strength and nearly in height. It was a no brainer to play Campbell. Agree with player analysis except Petty. can anyone understand how we set up in the forward line at centre bounces. I don’t think I have ever seen a game where I have thought a young version of myself could have beaten an AFL standard forward. Why? Because our key forwards were flat footed, didn’t lead so all an athletic tall person had to do was take a few steps, jump from behind and punch the ball, that is if the ball wasn’t kicked directly to them instead of our forward anyway
  10. Interesting perspective Yesterday Max need some relief. By that I mean his usual time on the bench plus another 10 minutes on ground resting forward. I would have played Campbell but it could be Fullerton this week. Nothing to lose if Fullerton replaced Fritta or JVR for a week or two.
  11. On the scoreboard at three quarter time it was still winnable but watching it I said no. All North had to do was kick one goal and a few behinds and we needed five. No chance of that happening yesterday
  12. I make it nine players gone from our premiership team and can’t find a player we have recruited since who would have taken anyone’s place. Happy to be wrong and missed someone.
  13. Spot on review of an ordinary team when you go through them individually
  14. That’s ok. I just think the media and supporters haven’t caught up yet that young guns from other teams are coming hard at them and they have both had problems the past few years. You gotta be very lucky to be a star year on year regardless of talent.
  15. I have no inside info other than to say they are not the players they were. Not sure they ever will be again, at least at Melbourne anyway.
  16. I thought the whole presser before that was like a politician .
  17. Like to hear thoughts on our forward line positioning. I think the way the forward are being forced to set up is disgraceful and has destroyed all their confidence.
  18. Yes, or give him a day off if it’s a deeply troubling problem.
  19. I would have played Campbell today.
  20. Id give him a spell in backline
  21. No problem with that but give him support
  22. I hate to say this but he pulled out of a marking contest in front of where I was. I totally understand it from his point of view and what he’s been through but it’s not good.
  23. Agree on Vic Park and Windy Hill with Vic Park a short half head in front. That said when I was 18 I pulled beers at Collingwood Social Club. Fantastic people. They would all be friendly and respectful to anyone who worked there. That included, the president, Tommy Haley and Ron Richard’s.
