  1. 1. Lloyd (As mentioned above - Cant stand his diving) 2. Didak (So Collingwood) 3. Rocca (Nothing worse than hearing Collingwood supporters referring to him as Rocky...) 4. Tarrant (Had the displeasure of being stuck on a plane with Collingwood to Adelaide - Tarrant was the stand out [censored]) 5. Fevola (Like watching him play, just cant stand him on the Footy Show; One of several reasons why I stopped watching it). Interesting that all 5 are forwards and (originally) from Victorian Teams I also suspect that people I know who support Collingwood and Essendon probably have tainted my inclusions....
  2. Thanks Timmy - Lets hope it does not take too long; particulary with injuries raising their heads a week before the pre-season has begun....
  3. Apologies if I missed this - But did Steffan Martin play? If so, how did he go?
  4. I like what I hear about Millers attitude and work ethic on the track, I like his willingness for the rough stuff.... But until the day I see him consistently perform ON-FIELD.... I will remain in the 98%
  5. Thanks Fork - Great Post Some solid photos there also. You have made PhilReadFury not so furious... If only the club went to such an effort to keep supporters abreast of what was going on during pre-season. Would make a change from the detail lacking propaganda that is usually posted on the MFC website
  6. I am devastated to hear this - That show is a joke and a waste of free-to-air prime time - Yet another dead horse getting flogged.... Would prefer to watch weekly movies of Robbo doing Karaoke on youtube. I wonder which 'C' Grade channel 7 (semi-)celeb they will try and recycle to host it. How Embarrassing
  7. Great result for the club and vast majority of supporters - I do feel for those who had already made travel plans though.
  8. So I guess that supports my theory about Lance Franklin and Hawks supporters?
  9. Refer below for the odds the Herald Sun have reported for 2008 brownlow betting. This list triggered off a couple of questions in my mind: 1. Does Judd deserve to be outright favorite given his move to a side that is less likely to win as many games as the 2007 Eagles? - I would have started Gary Ablett as favorite. 2. Given that not a single Demon has made this list - Who would have the shortest odds and what do you think they should be? - Tough call; Based on last year, could throw a blanket over most of the team and give them 100-1 3. How on earth did Lance Franklin make it on to this list? - Perhaps the Hawks faithful have a gambling culture similar to our recently departed. 2008 Brownlow Medal betting: Chris Judd (Carlton) $10 Gary Ablett (Geelong) $12 Jonathan Brown (Brisbane) $13 Daniel Kerr (West Coast) $13 Adam Goodes (Sydney) $15 Sam Mitchell (Hawthorn) $17 Matthew Pavlich (Fremantle) $21 Jimmy Bartel (Geelong) $21 Simon Black (Brisbane) $21 Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda) $21 Andrew McLeod (Adelaide) $28 Dean Cox (West Coast) $31 Brent Harvey (Kangaroos) $31 Nick Dal Santo (St Kilda) $35 Lance Franklin (Hawthorn) $35 Luke Hodge (Hawthorn) $35 Scott West (Western Bulldogs) $35 http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E19764,00.html
  10. Rodney Grinter.... Now there is a name that deserves more discussion on this board. Wish I could remember more specifics or his playing days, but what I do recall was his intensity. Stinga is another that stands out. Now back on topic: Sylvia has the potential physically... I just hope the boy grows up sooner rather than later mentally and applies himself 110% on-field instead of off.
  11. By those who know him, PhilReadFury is also referred to as TMac... Note to self: Stop writing in the 3rd person
  12. I am wrapped that we have been touted as wooden-spooners.... MFC has a tradition of excelling in years when the expectations are low and then failing when expectations are high. And lets not forget that next year is not only an 'even' year but also an Olympic Year..... All the ingredients are there for at least a Grand Final appearance!!!!
  13. I could not agree more with Chad Kornes on this one... The whole concept of state of Origin is playing for your State of Origin! Having an all stars team makes this thing a joke - Not clear on the AFL's intention with this, but is this supposed to invoke passion in a similar vain to State of Origin Rugby? The NSW and QLD rivalry is the best thing about their sport, they have the formula right and somehow manage to allocate 3 weekends for it each year - Why is it we can only find the time for 1? For this thing to work, a tradition needs to be built. It needs to happen EVERY Year. It needs to Involve a WA team, a Vic team, an SA team and perhaps either a TAS or all aboriginal team). 2 weekends need to be allocated - 1 with 2 games as semi's and 1 for the final. There needs to be a trophy... There needs to be PASSION!!!! ALL STARS DONT CUT IT!!!!!! This is the word of PhilReads fury
  14. As many as possible - Will aim for: - All pre-season games in Vic - All Home and Away Games in Vic - All 3 of our home finals in Vic.
  15. http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...0^20322,00.html They say hindsight is a beautiful thing.... And in this case aren't we glad we didn't make a bid to trade for him like many of us were calling for. That said, you have got to feel for these guys that just cant get themselves right.
  16. Lets hope that he brings some of the 'muscle gain' experience he was exposed to at the Eagles - After a single pre-season over there his arms tripled in size. Parden the pun but strong arm tactics may be just the thing to secure the future of MelbourneFC
  17. 15758 - The number of days since we last won a Flag Dont ask how I came up with that number
  18. Where to begin... A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless (Attitude and Effort) Faithless - Take the Long Way Home (Game plan) Polyanna - Brittle then Broken (Injuries)
  19. It has now been reported that all remaining charges against Cousins have been dropped due to a technical 'glitch' by WA Police.... For a man with all sorts of issues, perhaps in the eyes of the law he is blessed.... http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...626-661,00.html
  20. Also makes it difficult to renew online at melbournefc.com.au when the links/buttons are not active.....
  21. Probably the lack of competition to be the clubs #1 ruckman......
  22. Very difficult to make a call of Right or Wrong call on Baileys appointment so early on.... But what I can say is this: I have been impressed by his Media work I have been impressed by his apparent hard line stance on 'Passengers' I have been impressed by him having the guts to throw Carrol and Johnstone out as bait Ticks in all boxes available for ticking so far... But the proof will be in on field performance; game plan, brand of football, and how hard the players work for each other... Until then, the jury is still out.
  23. Phil Read is FURIOUS!!!!!! I cant believe it.... I dont want to believe it.... Based on the reasoning from the announcment, I am tipping he is off to the Filth....
  24. Since posting - It would appear Telstra have since corrected the problem.... That was fixed quicker than a South African test match
  25. I look forward to seeing how those odds change when it is announced we have signed up Judd for next year!!!
