He's sprays to the left He sprays to the right Cale Morton He sprays them all night!!

Once again it's basic skill errors killing us. We must have a KPI for kicking a ball at someones feet rather than their chest!!! This quarter park the forwards 20-30 meters out and bomb the living shizzit into the forwards. We need to take advantage of that breeze!!! As for Sellar...pull your f*cking finger out!!!!

Melbourne Supporters & Our Kids - I Need Your Advice
13thFlagIsComing replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
It's not about supporters having a go at their own players. All supporters at all clubs do it. Possibly because a majority of Melbourne supporters have a lay down me sire attitude (we will probably get smashed by 100 points, we'll be up by 7 goals at three-quarter time and we'll lose, we'll be crap for another 5 years, our draft pick will be rubbish and the one picked after ours will be a gun) that is fuelled by 50 years of negativity, inconsistency and poor club management we probably attack our players in a way that is less about the players mistake but the general culture of the club. How may times has you finished a sentence with.... "Typical Melbourne" My whole family and my partners family go for Melbourne (a rarity in the west of Melbourne) yet a couple weeks ago my parters uncle said that if his son wants to barrack for another team he won't stop him. So what is a parent to do...say to their child "barrack for any team you like" knowing they'll jump on the most popular team at the time or keep pushing the line of "we'll be right son / daughter? I know for myself that i cannot wait for that moment after the siren and we win our 13th premiership, turning to my father and without saying a word to each other saying "it was worth the wait" and the first words i'll probably say to him are "thanks" -
Memo to the Melbourne Football Club Football Department. Here are some pointers that no amount of GPS Data, Statistical Analysis or Past Coaches or Players can give you. Some comments may contradict each other. Bate - must play 50-70 meters out from goal. He must be the link player coming out of half back. Play him off the left half forward flank. ;If you put the ball out in front he can take a grab and swing onto the left and get in to a contest. He is too slow to run as a midfielder and is an excellent penetrating kick into the 50. His football smarts aren't the best; Can kick a long goal too if needed. Do not allow him to play on the right side of the ground. Whatever side of the ground has his left leg towards the boundary line, tell him to run that channel. Too slow to swing out onto his left and has no right foot. Do you ever see Buddy Franklin break to the right? Howe - Play him off the right forward flank. Can take a grab but his area should be between 20-60 meters out from goal. Seems to be one kick too far up the ground for my liking as most of his big grabs are towards the wing. Problem is when he looks up towards whats inside 50, he should be that player coming out towards the 50 and not kicking into it. Has great ground awareness and can crumb the ball if needed and doesn't mind the hard stuff. Too often this year we have no-one to kick into. Need to play Petterd and Howe in the same side. Petterd ;- Deep left forward pocket. I reckon he is a better kick on a tighter angle with his right leg towards the boundary. Has a tendency to hook shots when his right leg is facing centre of the ground. Can take a grab as well but prefer him to stay on the ground and work his opponent out of the contest. Needs to play a "ground"; game (in gridiron terms) and not an "arial" game. Too often going forward this year too many players going up for the mark which leaves either 1 or even 0 Dees players on the ground against 2-3 opposition. Take that a step further and need two ground players hitting most packs one on each side moving into the contest going towards goal. Covers space going forward and if ball goes out back of the pack a better chance to apply pressure if landing in opposition hands. Morton - Don't think i've ever seen a more "outside" player in the past 5 years. Needs to play the right wing and run the channel 10 meters past each end of the square. Biggest concern in his tendency to over finesse when trying to hit targets. He kicks the ball 5 meters too short thinking that the player going for the mark will make it to the ball. Has to learn to kick the ball to the player and not drag the player to the ball. Kick through the ball Cale!! Penetrate don't guesstimate!!! Can kick the ball long as seen during his kick into the 50 towards City End. Davey - Stick with him inside 50 on the right forward pocket. Flashes past packs but always decides where he is going to run to before the contest and hopes the ball goes in his direction. Likes kicking goals from deep in the right pocket. Can kick a ball very straight but has that left to right hook which in the right forward pocket would mean the ball would swing into the goals. Needs to work a lot harder on defensive pressure. Watts - Improving every week but is being moulded into a Bob Murphy off half back stopper or a Michael Hurley half forward ball burster? Seems to float over the ground and if he was pushing up the ground needs to NOT go further than the wing. Needs to start working on the double backing leads ala Reiwoldt. Loved the grab today when he threw his opponent to the ground but not just doing it enough. More aerobic work for Watts this pre-season. I'd even go so far as to alternate Howe and Watts in the double backing role. Can't be a steading influence in the backline as who is he going to kick to 50 meters up the ground? I'll add more to this during the week when i can.

Inspirational Quotes. Original or Not .
13thFlagIsComing replied to Biffen's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon something like this is needed... A speech inspired by the Greatest Coach in History....Vince Lombardi -
Good Evening Demon fans!!!, Over the past few days i've been updating my podcasts through iTunes and i've come across none that are exclusively about the greatest team in the world. So i thought i'd start one up and i'd like to get fans involved. This is for the fans to listen to on the train, in the car or at work when your boss isn't looking. I've set up an email address [email protected] if you want to send through any ideas, suggestions , opinions that you may have or you could post them on here. The major things i would cover would be a match review, fans reactions, press reactions. Any general news around the club, etc.... As i said it's going to be an evolving podcast It's going to be a work in progress and it's something that i've wanted to try for a while. I'm planning to get it up on iTunes next tues or wed night. Thanks!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starwood It's just easier to do this.

I am very confident that Starwood are the front runner after doing a little detective work online. I won't say anymore as i don't want to ruin any announcement from the club (and no i don't have any inside knowledge just putting a couple online pieces of a puzzle together) but if Starwood (or one of its brands) are our sponsor it will be massive for the exposure of their brand here and our brand not only in China but also Asia. Looking forward to an announcement and if my hunch is right then i'll be very grateful to our SEO, Mr Schwab.

This is the first year in about 5-7 years where I will be happier perfecting a game plan rather than going all out to win the cup. Would be great if we did win for a boost in members and to put a spring in the step of the fans but at the end of the day it's all about March 31..

Dissapointing to read that Russian. I walked away from the AGM thinking there's a couple too many eggs in the China basket for my liking. I hope I'm wrong because if the club feels that China is going to be the golden goose I've got a feeling it won't be.

Having has a bit more of a snoop online. Huawei have been in south Africa since 1999 and in NZ they recently secured a major contract for their national broadband network . Following that i actually dont thonk they won any part of our broadband network tender. Yhat could be the " unforseen circumstance" abd s reaaon to change their mind. Potentially the lack of a tender means no reason to invest in the country. Then again I would say they could still see Australia as an emerging market for them in consumer telephone and business networks. Once again my theories at work here nothing more.

I did a bit of net surfing today and I reckon there is something in the story about the rugby sponsorship deal that stopped all of a sudden. The company in question is Huawei. The largest privately owned firm in china. Massive communications company. According to a story in the Australian late last year. The Brumbies had a 4 year 4 million dollar ready to go. It was so far down the track jersey designs were being looked at. In nov 2011 the Brumbies received confirmation that the deal was done and it would represent Huaweis entry into the market. The deal was pulled the week before. Christmas due to " unforeseen circumstances" The article also states the Brumbies were one of several shot listed candidates. Surely we are one of them. . So I'm confident that all we are waiting on is the finer details . I'm assuming cams trip to china showed how much more exposure afl would give them rather than nrl and thst could have been a factor in the deal falling for the brumbies As I said its all assumption at this stage on my end. Nothing more.
