We are extremely lazy. So much for that 'big' pre season. We don't man up, we don't Play in front and we have no second efforts. These are the basics and we can't even do that. Don't worry about a gameplan until we can do the little things.

Has there ever been a more predictable game plan than ours? Not even 1 game into the season and we do the same thing over and over. Brisbane handball out the back of the pack everytime and have numbers running, they are playing high position footy. Play man on man footy and we might slow that down at least. Take the game on, try something different demons. Footys a simple game so they say. Please stop this humiliation MFC and Mr Neeld. Don't let the fighting spirit die as well

Since I won't get my membership pass by the weekend do I just take the printed receipt to the gate and sort it out there or at a membership stall maybe?

Hey guys as I have been living about a 2 hour drive from Melbourne my whole life and with working in hospitality I have never been a member of the MFC, but now I have moved closer to the city and said goodbye to terrible weekend hours I have now finally got myself a redlegs membership. A few things I was just wanting to know if anyone can help out. 1. How long will the membership take to come out as I only purchased it last thursday and would like to go this weekend? 2. What gate is the best gate to enter into? 3. What bars are available and which has the coldest beer? 4. Am I the only person who goes to the football by themselves as all of their friends live too far away and barrack for the wrong team? Any help would be appreciated. Go dees

RIP Big Jim An inspiration to us all

I think as a club the MFC and all supporters should get right behind LJ and take a moment to think about how hard it must be for someone so young to have so much responsibility and pressure put on them and how hard that must be. I do not condone what is being alleged to have happened. I just think we need to show Liam that he has a family here in Melbourne that supports him no matter what, not just when it suits us.

If only watts had the desire, heart, guts whatever you want to call it that bartram does.

I thought they both played ok games. Danny frawley made a few unusual mistakes which isn't common for him and I think Dustin Martin isn't a great wet weather player as he couldn't hold onto a mark on Saturday night... Oh wait

Looked like the same old game plan to me, 18 blokes all run around chasing the ball like in auskick. No one in our forward half for most of the match, didn't we recruit one M. Clark for that? I know it's only NAB cup, new coach, new game plan etc etc, but that wasn't a great start at all.

I wish I could be confident about the round 1 clash against Brisbane but the truth is the last 5+ years make it very difficult. there's been a lot of games we should win and we don't and there's been a lot of hyped pre seasons that end up just being fizzers. If the new coaching department is serious and the players really are training so much better than previous years and have new attitudes and 'roles' in the team then round 1 is a must win. Especially against an interstate team that won 4 games last year! If not I'm afraid it might be another 'development' year. Here's hoping. Go Dees

Title pretty much says it all. NAB cup doesn't really interest me so not concerned about results there too much. Have seen quite a few peoples thought's on round one and i'd say based on other peoples opinions it's about 70-30 Brisbanes way?! Anyway I think we will play an average game but turn it on in the 3rd quarter and win by about 5 goals. Jonathan Brown I think will come out firing but hopefully our back 6 will keep him well contained. I also hope our new number 11 will be equally as fired up and not take a backwards step and the whole team follows suit. Thoughts on match ups and scores?

I can see a little bit of Luke hodge in captain JT but their is definitely a big resemblance to Jimmy bartel. The way he goes into the contest, the way he can play mid, back or forward, a great contested mark for his size. Yep he's in the bartel mould.

I think the reason why MM said he couldn't stay on is because MN is a guy who puts in 110% and while he would have tried to finish out the finals with collingwood he wouldn't be able to not think about what he wanted to do at Melbourne as senior coach.Therefore not giving collingwood 110%
