  1. Just on the topic of fitness, today I helped the sports and fitness coach of Essendon move house. Dean Robinson who was previously at Geelong for 6 years and GC Suns and I was dumbfounded by how much these guys do. 6-7 days a week, speaks with the coach minimum 2 times a day about programs and players etc, travels to all games with the team, receives text messages from certain players on modified programs and diets all day long, and it gets more intense through the season! I can only hope that Misson is as dedicated and professional as they are down at bomberland. Anyway kind of off topic but I found it very interesting.
  2. As I said bartrams heart and hardness at the contest is second to none but what role will he be playing in the team? I see what you're saying about nick Maxwell but he reads the play beautifully and knows where to be when he needs to be third man up at a contest. Sure bartram can probably shut down a small forward player but he isn't gonna hurt the opposition any other way. I can just see someone like a bennell or Strauss doing the same job and being a lot more dangerous if not this year then certainly in the near future. Am happy to be proven wrong as I do like the kid.
  3. I think this is a very bold and brave move by the coach and the FD and one that I'm sure we will cop a lot of criticism for, but I am quite confident it will pay off. My only concern is with Bartram in the leadership group, don't get me wrong I love the bloke and his attack on the contest is second to none but I'm just not sure if he will feature in our best 22 for this year and years to come unless he has really worked on his disposal by both hand and foot.
  4. I see today they announced he will be wearing the number 9 at GWS. I dare say a bit of JT envy????
  5. You would have to pencil Aaron Davey in as the bloke who you'd like to be pin pointing passes out of defence wouldn't you? As for best kick on set shot goal I'd have to say LJ or even Greeny ( as long as the games not on the line )
  6. What style of play would you like to see the Dee's play this year and do you think it will be successful? I for one was never a fan of our old style with our so called forward press which looked great when it worked but that wasn't often enough. Our kick in's from full back were never great, nor was our stoppage work. I think this year with a harder attack on the ball, and everybody supposedly been given a role to play we can control play better and create more turn overs and kick fast and long into our forward line which is actually starting to look very tall and has potential to be very dangerous.
  7. Just thought I'd see what players everybody is most looking forward to see play in 2012. New players getting out on the park, developing players getting more games, older players re-igniting their careers etc.. Grimes- just to see JG play a full season injury free and develop into the player and leader we all know he has the potential to be. Watts- #1 draft pick that still has a lot more development to go, like what I've seen so far but I know he will get a lot better. Jurrah- LJ has great X factor and when he is electric to watch. Now that we might actually have some structure and he has some support we might see Liam take it to another level. Here's hoping. Jones- We all know he's one of the fittest SOB's on our list and he has no problem finding the pill but his disposal could be a bit better, I think this year with better options in front of him chunk might surprise a few. Moloney/Jamar- The ruck combo of these two guys when they're on is just awesome to watch and gives us first use of the ball. Who do you most want to see play in the new look demons?
