The Run Home
I guess all will be obvious at around 6pm on GF day, if not before.

The Run Home
Too early to call Geelong then daylight...this is the same King that called us at our best 5 goals better than any other team a week or 2 back. He was wrong then as he is wrong now. I think they are a definite contender, the kid at full back gives them a lot more flexibility as does a fit Cameron. ...but the ageing list still has a lot of footy to play and there's a bit of water to flow under the bridge yet...

CHANGES: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Salem has missed too much game time this year. Needs as much time on the ground at top level as he can get.

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
I think that might be the case...he plays this type of role well. Good call 'Clayton'

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
Sam Reid is a very good footballer...has been cruelled by injury. One of the best swing men in the game when he can get on the ground.

Buddy
500k is probably about the right offer I would think at his age.

Is David Noble the new Mark Neeld?
Funny comment from Robbo last night on 360, that he doesn't think Clarkson believes in the draft...in other words not a good rebuild coach. ...but then says that Lyon is the man for the job. At least Clarkson did play a part in the Hawks list rebuild, Lyon as you say has always taken on mature lists. Lyon wouldn't know a draft pick even if it smoked him in the mouth. Go figure.

SO ITS COME TO THIS
If we go back to the GF he was in the first Q backed off in the 2nd and then it was game over in the 3rd. So, yes...when he's getting up on the kicker he's a really important part of the puzzle and puts on a lot of pressure. ...he hasn't been hitting up on the kicker as hard lately but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be playing that role. It's just another area we are not on song with at the moment. When it works it works...

Head high tackles
My opinion...it's a blight on the game and needs to be stamped out. Not only that, as you point out it's dangerous. At the start of the season all indications were that the umpires would crack down on it. ...but then again, Scott's in high places. I am concerned that the media have made it a Ginnivan verses the rest issue as now every [censored] magpie thinks it's a conspiracy against them... If anything the issue would be attribute to Selwood, the instigator of this stupid tactic and not a kid at the start of his career..it should never have gotten this far down the line. Should have been outlawed back when it started.

Head high tackles
I'm sure it's to do with his captain...If he didn't condone it old Joel and the Cats family would be mighty upset.

In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.
The only thing I hope is that our competition aren't also here, otherwise we are in trouble. Serious question but surely they are following a similar strategy? The winning record in the first half of the season I guess gives us an advantage but...

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Hard to tell on the TV (Computer) but didn't seem to be giving any height away to Weid when they were standing together. He would be certainly over the 193cm quoted when drafted now. 195 - 196 would be my guess, and he's no skinny kid.

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
Spot on 'dazz'... edit: and Maxy has to learn not get in his leading lanes.

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Geelong
Laurie can play...very solid kid, got the Leigh Mathews thighs means he can stay balanced over the ball.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
How about we talk some of the positives 'wayne'??? Laurie was excellent tonight, in trying conditions his ball handling was spot on, used the ball well and applied plenty of pressure. JVR is developing nicely, good grab, nice kick and imposes himself. Chandler can play...

Farewell Luke Jackson
Pro is the word...'willmoy'. A professional sportsperson will give their all in the contest at hand. I would be surprised if it has any effect on his or the teams performance.

TEAMS: Rd 17 vs Geelong
I also think the knee injury he picked up in the first practice game has been an issue. A more seasoned player can maybe deal with these things better but his mobility has suffered and along with that so has his form.

COACHES VOTES: Round 16, 2022
There will be others taking votes...Walsh at Carlton for example poles well, not sure how Rowell is going this season at GC. Neale will be the one though, a bit of an umpires pet.

NOT Taylor Walker
They were having a long friendly chat after the game on Saturday...
