There were reports Melk had agreed to play/coach in the country prior to get a one year deal in 2023. Not sure the club has Melk in their plans for 2024/25. Definitely not 2025, me thinks. The club will look after him regardless with his recover and medical needs. The ALFPA looks after retires players too.

He had some good VFL too. Hindsight says Jordan would have been better to replace Brayshaw, but the selection committee didn’t have a crystal ball or psychic at their meeting. 🥴

Just had a read over at the Big Footy Adelaide forum and McAdam is a perfect fit for the forward line moving forward. Knows how to jump and mark the ball, has X factor and is fast. Defends well with his pace and athleticism. Apparently he is a good pack mark too. With a forward line like this; McAdam. Petty. Fritsch Pickett. JVR. Nibbler Chandler, AMW, Smith and hopefully a FWD/Ruck (I like the idea of Chol) rotating through. This forward line has a very good balance of height, pace, mobility, defensive factors, toughness, X factor and goal kicking ability. My only worry here is a few on this list are injury prone. Including McAdam.

I think it was Mundy that said if it was Pendlebury and not Gus, Maynard would have had a different approach to his fall and no one would have been concussion. There is definitely a level of malice to Maynard’s action. Good logic and view from Mundy!

There seems to be a narrative change to this whole saga. The majority of AFL supporters and commentators were in Maynard’s corner over the weekend, to leaks coming out of the AFL community pushing the right agenda to suspend Maynard for many weeks. Other than Robbo, the comments and leaks are coming from respected AFL staff, coaches and commentators. if this story about Christian is true, he deserves to be sacrificed. I love the clubs performance in all this too. No ‘Vitriol’ and emotional statements. Just letting the AFL world Gus is “Not doing well”. Of course he is not doing well!
