  1. Hows the younger of the Viney boys coming along? any news on him lately?
  2. Recruiting someone for that point is not biased?.........ooookk then
  3. It shouldn't hurt the image at all. It would show that the club is responsible enough to not take a biased approach when drafting players.
  4. I read somewhere that Sheedy is expecting GWS to have up to 5 first rounder picks in this years draft. Thought it was interesting. Sounds like they plan to trade for picks. They also need ruckman. We have both and they have 17yr olds. I can see some potential deals being made.
  5. Thanks for that, I guess it doesn't change a thing then.
  6. The difference is they may have thought it was less risk to bid on Daniher before so would have just settled to use there pick on him as they would be happy to get him for 1st or 2nd pick regardless. Now once they bid for him with the comfort of low risk, there going to consider bidding for Viney also. Can argue about this all day though, end of the day we'll see what happens. I am confident in the team on hand after how they performed last year during the trade/draft period. (Not exactly wrapped with Taggert and his potential full first-year long sidelining injury but what can ya do). I am expecting a good 3 - 4 new best 22 players though
  7. It does give them a 2nd chance to bid for Viney now. Theoretically GWS and GC and use there 1 pick, to screw over all the F/S if they wanted. Where as before they could only screw up one other team with that specific pick. So it raises the chance of them bidding for Viney now whereas before, they may have bidded for Daniher, thinking the bid on him would be more worthwhile.
  8. We may get none of these kids, if we are forced to take Viney at 3 and god forbid, trade #4 for Boak
  9. i reckon we give Kerr an extra 100 or 200k per season. He is a free agent, bursts from packs and we could milk a season or 2 out of him to help out our mid-field. Wont need to give up any draft picks either.
  10. Maybe if no1 bids for Viney, we could try trade pick 3 & 4 for him. GC will be unbelievable in a few years, Swallow, O Meara and Whitfield in the mid-field...
  11. I can see a potential Wines v Toumpas v Stringer thread happening I rate them as 1 - Stringer 2 - Wines 3 - Toumpas Wines beats Toumpas due to chemistry with young jacky boy, but thats my opinion.
  12. i cant see Cook being anymore influential then Dunn at the moment. He needs more development time at Casey in my opinion. Happy to be prooved wrong
  13. Well for one Wines made a big mention of Viney in his article whilst Toumpas only mentioned Lachie, Daniher and Stringer.
  14. I would go for Wines over Toumpas, main reason is his relationship with Viney. Less chance of him leaving after 2 years...also I am sure they already have chemistry, something our mid field desperately needs.
  15. 3 to 4 will need to go from our first 22 and honestly I think Magner was just recruited as a make shift player to add some grunt in the short term until new talent can be recruited or developed.
  16. Whose this Kendall fella whose kicked a bag for Tassie. Anyone have any details on him
  17. Probably over 100 pages all up on this forum about a kid who may not even play for the MFC
  18. I see all these trade scenarios and it began to make me wonder how all these potential targets from trades and drafting would fit into our current team so I thought I would do a bit of a line-up so here goes. Back Bartram - Frawley - Rivers Half Backs McDonald - Watts - Blease Mids Howe - Grimes - Trengove Half Forwards Sylvia - Clark - Jurrah Forwards Garlett - Cook - Garland Followers Jamar - Jones - Viney Int Wines - Mckenzie - Tapscott Sub: Gysberts New: Garlett, Viney, Wines, Cook (Trying to be realistic/modest, could've also included Boak/Stringer/Cloke who would have taken Gysberts/Tapscott and Cooks place) Out: Moloney, Nichoson, Dunn, Magner, Seller, Bate Mckenzie to start on bench, once the game is underway and the most damaging player on opposition is identified, Mckenzie can pick him up as part of mid-field rotation.
  19. No doubt opposition players will target Viney early on
  20. To be honest Viney is sounding alot like a shorter version of Trengove
  21. Anyone else think Trenners would struggle to make the seniors if Boak and Viney were on our current list based on his form? With 2 - 3 new mids most likely to join the team besides Moloney I cant see who else could be moved to Casey to make room. Hope his form picks up soon. Jones and Mckenzie would hold there spots.
  22. Anyone able to confirm how many weeks Jurrah has been 2-4 weeks. Is it 5?
  23. Gotta hand it to you DL, threads like this make the forum a good read. Someone has to put it out there.
  24. Just those 2? iv suggested dozens of scenarios and you highlight those 2? In fact the Trengove one was just one of 4 scenarios i was using as examples in that specific post. Now for the sake of discussion would you keep playing Trengove if we had Viney, Boak and a fit Gysberts in our team based on Trenners current form? I think he would be lucky to get a game and Moloney wouldn't get a game. And this time last year Clark wasn't playing like Jesus. We managed to get his potential out of him.
  25. As I have already said, the only reason we got Clark for 12 was because he was about to walk out of the club. If Clark was happy enough staying at Brisbane I highly doubt we would have gotten him for 12.
