  1. Firstly we got Clark cheap as he wanted to leave, i doubt Brisbane would have given him away for that if he wasn't about to walk out. West could be a ruck turned forward, be a better option then paying overs for Cloke. Im guessing you cant explain it or suggest something better rather then 'not going to bother' after you just bothered to write a useless response to my suggestion
  2. We gave up pick 12 for Clark, so how would this scenario be much different? And name another one of my scenarios that suck? Something constructive or don't bother quoting me with responses like this one.
  3. Pick 12 and player to Port, Boak to Geelong, Trent West to MFC
  4. I really would hate it if we have to use pick 3 on Viney and use pick 4 on Boak. To not get any of Stringer, Toumpas, Wines would be painful to watch.
  5. Seriously, you really think other teams will want Bennell, Morton, Spencer and Petterd in the form they are in? Need to do better then that.
  6. Blease probably letting his man run loose in games or something
  7. gosh seller at CHF is a worry. His been a good addition this year but damn, I really don't think his going to be an effective CHF
  8. It isn't 'just a player we'd rate a couple of places higher on the draft board'. Its the whole overall picture of whats best for the team. It could be that Viney is a type of player whose type is in abudance in the draft and a similair type can be picked up later, it could be the difference between picking up u17 yr old Hogan whose being touted as the next Wayne Carey. End of the day its been all put on the table so we just need to see how it plays out. I dont think people should be upset if the MFC doesn't pick Viney. His old man is a responsible guy and I am sure he understands it all, its part of his job at the end of the day. Last thing we want is a head recruiter whose biased. Viney will be a great player though regardless if he is a good fit for us or not.

  11. Games like this could flip up the expected pick order a bit. Think previous mock drafts had Wines as between 8 - 11ish. I think he ll go alot lower, would be great if MFC could pick up Viney, Toumpas and Wines. What a mid-field we would have in a few years
  12. Pretty sure Morton got more possessions then that last game he played
  13. If we can get Viney with our 2nd rounder i hope we pick up Wines, he sounds like a champ and that his good mates with Viney it'll mean that the culture will be strong in our midfield and there is a low chance of him doing a Scully. Kid seems to put in the effort to, a bit of Jonesy in him.
  14. Possibly pick 1 & 2 of the mids, if whoever dosn't bid takes that high end ruckman first, which i think one of them is gunning for.
  15. Actually its the number 1 & 2 picks born between Jan - April (Forget what year) could always be better players born in that year after April, though its still a pretty good bet that they ll be guns. Also there already saying next years draft could be another super-draft....
  16. I think it is extremely smart hands down saying we wont take him at #3, puts doubt in GWS and GC and we are not binded to that.
  17. He is good rp, but there are also others who are good. You are comparing him to past draft picks like Morton, you need to compare him against the current crop. Dont let MFC beer goggles make you think he is the best without looking in detail at all other top 10 potential picks. I am happy with how MFC is going about this and I am confident that they will play the cards spot on with this one. They have been on the ball in regards to list management since Neeld and co has come in. Viney may be good , though there may be similar players to Viney which can be taken further down the draft for example, they may pass on him knowing they can get a similar player later on and take a type of player they can get at the high end if it dwindles later for example. There are many things that the club will factor in rather then just if he is good or not, combinations of player types, chances of certain players slipping, what we can get from trading with other clubs ect ect all come into play. Viney will be a great player, it is whether he is the best fit or not is the question.
  18. I agree with Diesel, I also agree with you rpfc, I think he will be great though I also think he does look good because of the type of player he is and who he is playing against. He is ready to settle straight into AFL which brings his value up alot, though in 2-3 years time when the other fellas develop, I don't think he will be in the top 3 of the players drafted in 2012.
  19. Good to see the MFC are playing some hard-ball
  20. Having a player who cant get onto the park is not good. Hope he can sort out all his injury issues soon. His injury record is almost as bad as Grimes.
  21. any chance of wines slipping to our mid first rounder?
  22. Nice, you listed there career achievements. So how many of these were 'stars' for the 2011 season? Back to the original point, I would prefer 2 A grade players like Watts and Trengove rather then a star like Cameron. Your arguing in favor that you would prefer less stars to more A grade players I assume? I am finding it funny how people are arguing that we need 'stars' and spruking players they think will be stars though none of these people have suggested any logical way to get any to the MFC. They just continue to try to de-rail this thread
  23. Iv actually lost track of whats going on here cause i dont care anymore except my damn hands keep clicking on the threads that keep getting bumped because im so bored at work. But for the sake of it can you tell me what players were 'stars' for the 2011 season for the Cats. Has nothing to do with this thread of course but what the hell.
