  1. How is feeling confident changing my view on anything? How about you do yourself a favor and not quote me with irrelevant posts that have nothing to do with the Viney situation
  2. The issue is we are sh#t and need everything we can get to not be sh#t
  3. no reports on how much he is being paid?
  4. Anyone know what type of coin his on?
  5. This is our draft to pickup our own Ablett/Bartel/Kelly combo. Lets not blow it
  6. http://www.heraldsun...t-1226488220436 feeling confident again Basically saying they rate him between 2-6 or 7 Meaning his a 1 in 5 chance or so of being bidded for. Media are probably hounding GC about this also, though I think that they will be sensible and pass. They will want pick #2 to allow for flexibility in trading period also. What if they are able to trade in some more mids and run dry on ruck for example. They will lose the flexibility to go and draft Grundy instead of a mid ect
  7. Some people on DL are just over optimistic sometimes. We ll have to decide between Viney or Toumpas
  8. It comes down to this guy: Profile: Really damaging player with some versatility. Can take over and influence games as well as just about anyone in this draft and throughout the u18 champs for bursts really imposed himself on games which was impressive. Skill level excellent by both hand and foot, has that combination of hurt factor and clean ball use that will make him a big time weapon. Consistently good decision maker. High level athlete and has that combination of explosive speed and agility that will make him desirable as well as in game work rate. Endurance excellent. Also has shown very early on that he can lift for the big games which is I strongly believe is something that he will take with him to AFL level. Can play as a midfielder, forward or back which is a big advantage but long term will no doubt develop into a midfielder. Has the ability to play both as an inside and outside midfielder. Or this guy: Really competitive and hard inside midfield. Could have joined an AFL club as a 17 year old and been a regular. Not a big fella, but purely and simply he is the hardest player I’ve seen coming through the system and his attack on the ball, attack on the man and aggression on the field is without equal and the big reason why he is such a dominant player already. Wins all the hard, contested ball and as a 17 year old was doing better than most of the 18 year olds who got drafted early, so Melbourne will get very lucky to have young Jack who I’m sure will very quickly become a Mark Neeld favourite. Tackling is excellent. Is a real leader out on the field and is someone who really leads by his actions and hardness at the footy. Potential culture changer and sure to be a member of the leadership group soon enough. Really high character guy and hard worker who will put time into his game until he becomes elite. Jack has very clean hands and uses it well by hand consistently. Big time accumulator. Left foot kick, can use his right. Kicking is generally very good and can find his targets over short and medium range but doesn’t have that same hurt factor as some of the other elite mids in this draft. Speed is good and can break away from packs, also athletically I like his agility and side step, has some evasiveness and can burst off in another direction at pace. The big strength athletically is his endurance which without seeing any of his testing I suspect would be very, very good because he has such a high work rate. What we do imho. We ll need to decide on either 1 or the other..
  9. Dosn't mean squat who he chooses if WC cant get the deal done and they have gone cold on him apparently. Just like last year when Clarke chose Fremantle. He isn't a free agent...
  10. MFC should pay alot of attention to Jimmy Toumpas. Just so GC know who they ll be losing if they bid on Viney. Toumpas/Wines #3 and #4. Garlett at #13 and boom midfield solved. Trade #26 and a player for Wellingham Jones, Toumpas, Trengove, Sylvia, Wines, Wellingham, Howe, Garlett, Blease, Grimes = Premier midfield in 3 years. Save our warchest for next year and bring over Franklin for 1.5mill a year to be with his buddy Wellingham and we will be looking good. B - Nicholson Frawley Dunn HBF - Watts Tmac Strauss M - Howe Jones Grimes HFF - Sylvia Franklin Trengove F Blease Clarke Byrnes RR - Jamar / Wellingham / Toumpas Int: Garlett, Mckenzie, Gawn Int: Tapscott I like to dream
  11. Quick question, when is Viney officially allowed to start training with us. Can he start when the rest of the boys come back or does he need to wait until after the ND?
  12. Then no MD Hogan. 3 Guns > 2
  13. I would prefer Wines at #3 and Viney at #26 This whole issue is the difference between getting 1 gun inside mid.......or 2
  14. Guess we should expect Wellingham in the red and blue next year then if thats what Denham is saying
  15. I get the impression the Dees have distanced themselves from him and that may be what has induced these type of comments. perhaps after not hearing from the Dees or being interviewed by them at the combin (suprise suprise MFC) then he thought he needed to say something. When the truth is maybe the Dees did this as a tactic to show opposition clubs that we are interested in other kids at pick #3 instead...
  16. Couldn't have said it better. I just hope some major potential trades and politics come into the woodworks from other clubs to take the hype off this kid over the next 3 days. Not likely but you never know. This type of article could be the difference as to whether or not he ll be owning our midfield with his buddy Wines for the next decade
  17. Might be a while, to lazy to look it up as i am out and about. It was along those lines
  18. I think North offered pick 21ish for Wellingham in 2009 before he was in a premiership team.
  19. From what i have read we offered it... Think pick 18 may be involved Only worth considering if Viney is 2nd rounder. Could end up with Toumpas, Viney, Wellingham, Kennedy, Vlastuin as Mids and Dawes down forward. We need mature players, and their isnt exactly a smorgasboard of them knocking on our door.
  20. We would get 2 top 5 prospects (Viney+O'rourke), 4 top 20 prospects (throw in pick 13 and 18) as well as Wellingham and Dawes Collingwood would get Grundy. Win win .
  21. Dawes/Wellingham and pick #18 I would take that trade
  22. This would be a great outcome if Viney slips to 2nd round. End up with Toumpas, Wellingham, Viney and Garlett/Kennedy/Stringer as mids and Dawes up forward. Good outcome. If Viney goes at pick #3 on the otherhand...not quite as impressive.
  23. adrian barich ‏@adrianbarich Look out for Wellingham and Dawes to be packaged up and traded to Melb for pick 4
  24. Doubt that it would get it across the line. If Viney goes to 2nd round though I would entertain pick #4 for the pair (with some minor adjustments here and their) Would net us Toumpas, Welilngham, Dawes, Kennedy, Viney.....4 mids and a gorilla. Or similar.
