  1. Biggest make or break deal of the decade... Lets hope we got this one right
  2. We both know that he didnt get a games due to injury and fitness. Not ability...
  3. I want us to start chasing currency with our reject players. ATM we are doing all the buying and not much selling by the sounds of it.
  4. Play nice, he doesn't have to post. Think he dates a players sister or something along those lines, so he finds himself around the club rooms quite a bit and hears a few whispers.
  5. Reading speculation that Hogan deal is done however cannot find the specific details on this. Can anyone provide details on the trade on what the MFC outlay was.
  6. Every deal the media spits out works against us. They have an agenda...
  7. Touche. I got nothing against going for Hogan with pick 3, in fact I would do the same. I would even throw in pick 45 if needed to sweeten the deal. Pick 3 and 13 is a different story. Need to see how this plays out I guess as I would also prefer to use 3 and 13 for Hogan, Dawes(20) and Barry rather then just Hogan(3) and Dawes (13).
  8. If you can prove the deals are related then this post may have some credibility to me.
  9. Pick 13 is apparently going to be used for about 4 different trades now according to the media...
  10. That said that wasn't my main concern. My main concern is why are we paying 2 first rounders when we don't have to. We don't even know if Bulldogs are willing to part with pick 5 and 21 for Hogan, and even if they are would GWS see that as more valuable as pick 3? Hogan will be a great player in our team, I am not saying he wont be. What I am saying is we need to play hardball, put pick 3 on the table, if they don't want it then walk away and go with plan B and push for a power forward next year instead. Pick 3 should be enough, I don't understand why we are considering adding 13 to the mix when pick 3 is almost impossible to trump.
  11. If I were list manager (which I obviously aren't). I could guarantee a gorilla in next years off-season, not necessarily Boyd. Maybe Franklin as he is out of contract. Or Riewoldt who is also out of contract. Could also be a late bolter in the draft. With mids fixed up this year I would go tooth and nail after a power forward one way or another next year.
  12. Since when should we give GWS concession, do you not remember last year? We are potentially giving them the Scully compo pick that they generated themselves from taking Scully off us. they should be lucky we are putting pick 3 on the table rather then pick 4 to be honest.
  13. I am happy to agree to dis-agree on this one. I hope we take O Rourke over Toumpas/Wines. Thinking about it more and watching some clips last night of the u18s I thought that he seemed to have more x-factor and ball-magnet ability. The way he played was also a mixture of both inside/outside mid and the way he moved was really unpredictable. Out of the 3 I think he would be the best to shake a tag.
  14. Im half with you their, but then you have Deledio who also plays a similair style and Toumpas could be a similair player to him. Would be a tough call between Toumpas and O Rourke I think. I am leaning more and more towards O Rourke though as in the u18's he was a major ball-magnet with both inside and outside mid abilities and I think has a bit more dimension to his game as well as great evasive skills and is harder to predict his movements. (Would shake a tag much better then Toumpas in my opinion)
  15. I think that a big body like Stringer and a classy quick mid like Garlett would add more. Remember that we have next years trade/draft period to also pickup a big Forward who could also start in 2014. Boyd is in the draft and GWS wont take him as they already have Cameron and Patton. GC arn't looking for a power forward so if we can trade into a high enough pick we could possibly snare him their, and he is better then Hogan. What is the point having Clark and Hogan in the forward line if we do not have enough sharp kicking skillful mids to get it down their and hit them on the [censored]. See what happens I guess, maybe it is just pick 3 for Hogan/pick20/Barry. We don't know what is going on behind those doors.
  16. There is definitely more to this then meets the eye if pick 13 is involved. Possibly to do with Viney 2nd rounder or even a clause for GWS to leave Toumpas to our pick #4
  17. Is he playing for Casey? From what I heard is that he had planned on staying in WA next year. A guy who cant play next year is NOT what exactly what we need. We need players who can step up straight away.
  18. You can try to twist it like that if it makes you feel better. In my eyes we can draft a combination of 2 of Toumpas/Stringer/Wines/Kennedy/Garlett or take Hogan who can't play for a year. Id prefer the first option but that said see what happens, what Harrington said yesterday gave me the impression that the compo picks were off the table to be traded, then all this popped up so it could be just media spin again (the pick 13 part). They love making up rumors with our pick 13, first Caddy, then Dawes, now Hogan.
  19. 10 years ago I would say that it would be worth it when FFs like Dunstall, Locket, Carey ect could kick bags of 10 but these days its more of an open game where teams need a range of players to be able to kick goals to mix it up more. 10 years ago 1 power forward > 2 goalkicking mids now its the other way around.
