State Government would not want to nail the MFC. The State Government is proud of Victoria of being the sporting capital of the country. I highly doubt that they would scrutinise the biggest game in the country by nailing the oldest club with the most history.

As soon as the AFL sanction the MFC all the betting companies will be talking to their lawyers about legal ramifications on all the bets that took place. AFL needs to tread carefully here.
