  1. If a black player deserves boing next week but is politically incorrect to boo Goodes then what are we to do? Should everyone sit quietly for fear of being labelled a racist? Really? I am a staunch opponent of political correctness. I am quite possibly the only white person on this forum thats been the subject of racism. Heavy racism to be exact during my time in the Middle East. So don't mistake me for a supporter of racism but to give a W*nker a free pass because of his skin color is garbage
  2. Ive never said it didn't start then but i believe he's been a target long before. Ive never said some of the people booing aren't racist. Who are we to say what others are thinking. But i object to this blanket statement that the booing is only due to racism. that ignores the larger issue that he is a prat. The other thing i object to is people trying to label what other peoples motivations are. Ive booed a lot more white players trust me.
  3. Its tough for you PC types when reality doesn't fit the narrative isn't it
  4. Absolute Gold!
  5. I hope he gets booed louder than ever this week. Not because of goodes but because if we get to the stage where we are told 'what and who and how 'when e go to the footy then society is in a real bad state. I think goodes has been an exceptional player and i also think a lot of this booing is societies pushback on PC. If i decide to boo someone at the footy i will not have some suit at AFL house telling me why i am booing and that i am not allowed to.
  6. I don't know that as fact Hardtack. My thoughts are that he's been booed for a while but the media spotlight become a media frenzy and the whole thing has grown legs. In fact i think some people would look at the fixture to see when the swans were coming to town now.
  7. When Lumumba was booed by Collingwood fans on Queen Birthday was that racially inspired?
  8. Great observation
  9. they are kept separate Clint. Im sure he doesn't get booed off the field. Probaly due to him being quite a unit as well!
  10. He's always been booed to some degree but I really think social media and the blanket media coverage has the most to answer for. that didn't exist in 2005 I just think its disingenuous and devisive to lay a blanket statement that its due to racism. Some minority will be but most will be just because like me people get the feeling he's a tossser.
  11. No speaking out is good. But if you put yourself out there and then act like he does on the field then he will make himself a target. Its the way it works. His behavior on field only serves to de legitimize his message off the field. How can you make a stand off field with grievances when on field your grievances are so obviously a crock of [censored]. The issues need attention but they would be better served by a better bloke.
  12. Its really grown legs because when it first happened the media jumped on it . otherwise it would've been like every other time players get booed. it would've gone on a few weeks, more at some grounds than others, but as soon as is it became a big deal on tv an twitter well it grew legs. a lot if it would just be [censored] up blokes getting in on the fun because they've heard all about it all week.
  13. This idea that the booing only starting since the war dance is a false narrative. it started early 2013 and intensified late last year after the dive against Richmond.
  14. Scary how much the world is going old Orwell and no one even sees it. PC = the distortion of facts to fit a comfortable or preferred narrative
  15. Lets see if Lewis Jetta gets booed now for 'his stance on racism'
  16. I don't actually boo him . I couldn't care less to be honest. Im just calling [censored] on the reasons behind it. Long never got booed for the stance he made. You either do it with class or you don't and a paying audience, especially after a few frothy will give feedback.
  17. Jara, i didnt realize she was 13 but probably never cared too much about her age . However Im pretty sure her being 13 doesn't validate the award to goodes any further. Regardless, the point here is that if you act like a [censored] the crowd will treat you like one. Modern society climbing over each other to pull the race card is quite entertaining sometimes.
  18. I won't boo Goodes as I don't feel passionate enough to do so but should I decide to boo Goodes then I reserve my right to do so.
  19. How loud was the booing for Eddie betts on the weekend or Stephen Hill? Just wondering
  20. Ive also heard several times what a T0ssser Goodes is. Im sure there are some people booing him for race but I doubt its many. the majority now will be doing it because its become the thing to do and its 'grown legs.' To begin with it was to do with his arrogance and sooky demeanor, couple with having being awarded our highest national honor. A very undeserving one at that as I'm sure there are many scientists and philanthropists out there more deserving. The fact is Goodes is a bit militant in his approach to racism and is a bit of a racist himself to be honest. It naturally rubs people up the wrong way and people love to call bullsh11t on a prat.
  21. its nothing to do with his skin - its just the crowd that are booing him have seen him for what he is. Look at the respect Davey had from all and sundry. Betts. Rioli. The majority don't give a toss about skin color but if you act like a prat on the field especially after being awarded a very dubious aussie of the year then you will be a target. Very simple sociology really
  22. I don't care what color he is. I don't even care that he pointed the girl out in the crowd. for sure he didn't realize how young she was at first and perhaps would have his time again. but, pointing a 10 year old out is not Australian of the year worthy and this PC crap must stop. People see the A of the Year nomination as the PC rubbish it was and his behavior on field with the dives and the continuous sooking only makes him a target. Some people will revel in it. For me, Eddie Betts, Aaron Davey and Wonemairri do far more for the Aboriginal community than Goodes - by not being the [censored] that Goodes is
  23. he's acted like a complete [censored]. i don't see Rioli, the Jettas, Yarren, Garlett, Betts getting booed. He's a petulant sook pulling the racist victim card. Fans can see it for what it is and hence the booing.
