2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It's definitely a potential risk. I'm sure our recruiting team will be doing their due diligence there.

He has and he finds the ball at will. Has even played off half back.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Indeed. I can see them trading out Thomas and Powell if it nets them some players or picks to fill in key position roles. Phillips constantly in and out of the team as well although I think he's talented enough to persist with after an interrupted start to his career. North could and should take Curtin if available in my view.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
He's in that top tier of talent and would be hard to pass up. He is having a better junior season than kozzie, has a more well rounded game and can play all over the ground despite his size. More importantly he is elite off both feet and is an aerial threat. Would be instant best 22 next year and improves our forward half, not an idea to be dismissed for mine. After McKercher, Sanders and Reid there's not a lot of highly rated mids in this draft. We would be looking at prospective flankers and key position players ranked outside the top 10 if we were to go down a different route from the 7 listed above. Still, a lot to play out and perhaps a bolter will yet impress late in the season but hard to see other players at this stage pushing into that category. Caddy and O'Sullivan perhaps a watch as well as Wilson, though he has knocks on his contested game. All hypotheticals anyway. Good chance McKercher falls to us and we would probably be very happy with that.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Early prediction - Sanders pre-listed to Roos. 1. GC - Walter (matches bid) 2. WC - Curtin (either swap pick 2 with roos or select him outright, think Curtin becomes an eagle) 3. NM - Reid 4. Hawks - Duursma Think McKercher and Watson go next 5. GC pick traded to whoever 6. Melbourne - the remaining of McKercher or Watson

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Agreed. Still a bit to play out but for me it will be Reid, Walter and Curtin as the first three names read out on draft night, order to be determined. We'll most likely be picking from McKercher, Duursma, Watson or Sanders if available.

Highlights of a player that may be removed from the general draft pool if North get their wish.

No doubt gold coast pick is in play, but West Coast won't trade 1 unless they have a guarantee that Curtin is available allegedly. Won't matter if we offer pick 5 and 6 if he's gone at pick 3 or 4.- 2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Well and truly gone you'd imagine. And with that, probably any chance of getting Harley Reid.- 2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

You need to take your anti-laurie blinkers off Picket. Kid is developing nicely and is yet again in the bests with a 29 disposal 1 goal game. He is one of our better uses of the footy and was directly involved in multiple scoring chains along with Spargo. He may not get a run with us because it's hard to see where he breaks into the team from a forward/mid rotation point of view. But he's better than you give him credit for and if he seeks a trade at the end of the year I'll have no doubt he will be best 22 for a lot of clubs.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton

Dominated for the most part of that game, goal kicking a major let down. Dunstan, Spargo, Tomlinson, Laurie the best of the dees. Woewodin good early but faded and ?coped an injury. Adams and Jefferson showing good signs though Jefferson uncharacteristically poor by foot today. Good to get a match under T-macs belt because shache did little to enthuse for a promotion.- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
McDonald marks and goals, finally- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
Far less decision making and disposal howlers compared to Harmes. Stronger work in the contest, a few disposals are rushed dump kicks from contest which is the nature of his position. Is best getting hands out to a kicker in my view as he is more likely to hurt us by foot if anything.- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
Probably not but I'd have him as an emergency everyday of the week over Harmes.- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL

Spargo really should have hit up Jefferson regardless - 2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
