That would be the ideal set-up down the track. I'm not sure Petty will be ready for round 1 though but it's still early in the pre-season yet. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Laurie and Howes given some game time early in the year.

Thanks, I had forgotten/wiped that night from my memory

Pickett missing? Is there something we haven't heard injury wise there? At this stage I think Fullarton is more likely than Petty.
  4. This article suggests he was 8 in 2018 and 5 years younger than Kynan Brown. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/263662/melbournes-future-father-son-prospects Dazzle, in another thread, seemed confident he was only turning 14 next year and he's usually right about this stuff.
  5. Davey will be 2028 I believe, he is only turning 14 next year. Be interested to see if Nathan Browns other children come through the system as well. Jake is two years younger than Kynan and Ryder is 4years his junior and is apparently a very good soccer player going off a previous MFC article. Noah has a bit of work to do to put himself into draft contention.
  6. For some reason I was picturing this
  7. "It sets up an interesting alternative draft universe had the Hawks picked Curtin instead of Watson with their first choice. In the ultimate 'What if?' that order (not including bids) would likely have been Reid to the Eagles, McKercher and Duursma to North, Curtin to the Hawks, Sanders to the Dogs and Watson to the Demons. Then, the Giants would likely have accepted Melbourne's offer of pick 11 and a future first-rounder for pick seven and the Demons swoop on Windsor, Geelong and Essendon would have still been able to secure O'Sullivan and Caddy and then Wilson could have landed at the Crows."
  8. I wish I was that flabby
  9. Showing some serious leadership and maturity. A contender for the captaincy alongside Jake Lever when Maxy decides to relinquish it.
  10. Extended version of his interview and a decent look at our new jumper Some tid bits - came into this year off a 7 month ankle injury, said he thought he was going to start slow - thought he was going to GWS until the week before the draft
  11. I believe it will be full once Hore comes onto the Rookie list. Having said that, I'm fairly certain we can move Melksham to the "inactive" list due to his ACL and can possibly sign another ssp player or someone at the mid-season draft. Not sure what happens when Melksham returns, presumably Melksham is the active player and his "replacement", so to speak, becomes ineligible for AFL games.
  12. His kicking seemed to improve over the year, particularly his short 20-30m kicks. Really like his hands in close, weights them well out in front of the running player and makes quick decisions in tight. He's got a few tools to work with.
  13. Made it through the draft, he's ours. Will be official at the Rookie draft tomorrow.
  14. No, they packaged up 42 and their pick 40 for 27 from Gold Coast. That got pushed back to 28 which was used on Collard.
  15. Would think highly unlikely. We already traded out our pick 42 into the future and with the 2nd round starting at 30 it would be a massive waste of currency to buy back in. We're done apart from promoting D. Turner and hoping K. Brown gets through to the Rookie draft.
  16. Suspect we tried to get up for Caddy
  17. No, we traded it out for saints future 3rd pick.
  18. Our 2024 picks based on the final ladder of 2023 13 31 (Syd) 48 (WB) 50 (St kilda - trade on draft night) 69
  19. Going by the list you'd have to ask Brisbane. Our original pick 42 got traded to St kilda (for a f3) and St kilda then packaged it up for Gold Coast pick 27. 42 then disappeared in matching Academy bids.
  20. Cal usually does a write up of all the trades that fell through and who clubs were targeting a couple days after the draft. He mentioned on his recap video that we had a crack at Roos pick 4 for Duursma and Hawks pick 5 for Watson. Would also be curious to see if we made a significant play for GWSs pick 7 and who we had in mind there.
