This is where I sit as well.

This part worries me. Do we go all out and recruit for another flag while Gawn and May still have some good footy in them in '25? If we don't get it right we might end up like West Coast but without access to the top end of the draft.

Gut feel is he is still playing injured. The importance of Lever to allow them both to play effectively can't be understated as well. But he has been poor and also made some uncharacteristic simple errors.

I'd like to give Laurie at least a run of 3-4 games. 1st full game since opening round and thought he wasn't in our bottom 4-6 players. I have hope for him, but not convinced he makes it either. But we're never going to find out if we drop him after a single game then bring him as a sub 6 weeks later. If we can afford to give McAdam, Billings, Chandler multiple games of sub par performance then how about we give the kid some confidence and back him in for a few games.

Depends how you see the rest of our season ending up. We currently have pick 9 and we always like to trade up.

Starting to feel that this is the year we fall back to renew our list for a push in 2025. Sort of like our 2019 or pies 2021. A year of learning tweaks to a game plan, a year of development for key players in JvR, Windsor, Jefferson, Tholstrup and Adams. A year to add to our group with a top end draft pick. A year where we might finally have some salary cap relief and be able to afford higher quality free agents, perhaps bringing in Battle, Moyle and some mid depth. The key problem. We're running out of time with a few of our players we're so reliant on in May, Gawn and Viney all getting on and, bar Gawn, showing a sign of decreasing performance. 2025 is perhaps the last time we can seriously challenge with the current list at our disposal. We need to start getting all our decisions right from here.

Not sure about the ins/outs, hopefully Petracca pulls up ok after the break. If Lever isn't ready I would put Turner down back and consider bringing Fullarton in for fwd/ruck duties. Tholstrup perhaps to get a recall. Does Casey have a game next week?

I probably should have left off the 'lol' part of the post. He's normally a very good kick.

Not ment to be a crack, I like the kid and have really enjoyed his intercept game of late. Was just a fact. First kick was a turnover leading to a goal. God knows I've had those games back in my day. Sometimes no matter how well the team play it just doesn't go your way. Same with Jefferson who has been quiet but still has a promising future.

Lol, Adams first touch late in the 4th is a turnover leading to a Collingwood goal.

That's fair, he's still young and developing and no doubt lacks consistency. Casey is also playing bog average which makes it hard for any forward.

Looking at the VFL app tomlinson, mcadam and woewodin listed in the stats section. No Billings, Laurie, JvR or K Brown. I'd be very surprised if Kynan plays so think he is carry over.

Have you watched jeffo recently Old? Averaging 2.6 goals a game over his past 5 matches and from a very slow start is equal top 10 in the VFL goalkicking table. This is despite playing a couple games in defence and having no pre-season. Don't write him off yet.

I suspect it's in JvR, Howes, Billings and Laurie. Out: Hunter, Tomlinson, McAdam and Woewodin (may have missed him in the training video). I'd be surprised if those doing the captains run are burning down to Casey fields for a game.

Interesting. Howes, Adams, Tholstrup, AMW, Laurie, both Browns, Fullarton and Sestan all named on the ground. Bench has McAdam, Tomlinson, Woewodin, Turner and Billings. Potentially four dropped from seniors but not obvious who is getting a promotion from here. Edit: Petty obviously retains his spot with JvR most likely joining him forward. Are we going with only 2 tall defenders for the pies or does one of Tomlinson or Turner get a reprieve down back.

Clearly on ch7 just said Kreuger as been left out of Collingwoods VFL team so presumably those team selections should be available somewhere

Wonder how we will navigate our tall forwards in the coming weeks when Schache returns from injury. Shache, Ben Brown, Jefferson, Fullarton and Kentfield is way too top heavy. I would put Schache into defence, a role he had done previously at the dogs.

Fair enough, I presumed people were talking about the delay in announcing team selection. But are they actually taking an extra 24hours compared to normal? Or is it simply 24hours later given the game is on Monday and captains run will be on Sunday?
