Every player we've approached or wanted (Rockliff, Shuey, Sloane all dreams, Viv, Myers, Vince, Shiel, etc) have all been players that make perfect sense to me. Under Neeld and bailey often our targets and trade options just made no sense even to casual observers.

Mark Robinson should really consider whether going off half cocked just over halfway into the trade period gives any value to his opinions. Ofcourse the club will wait and draft if they don't get an adequate trade for pick 2.

Today's update: - Hartlett was never up for trade - St Kilda were very big on Viv Mitchie but the combination of our young list, game time and Paul Roos proved the clincher. - Vince expected the next confirmed deal - Pick 2 trade still a long way from negotiated. Heard some other stuff but I wont post that.

Come on Steve - Jumbo said it. Jumbo works by opposites. He didn't rate Shiel, yet rates Bugg.

I think Ron's assessment that Sculldog Millionaire went up there and bagged us out as a club would probably be correct. But I also think over time the young players around him might come to see that his opinion might have been scewed just a little by the millions more he is earning over his team mates with comparable skill.

That really bugs me if Bugg said he didn't want to play for us. We don't need that kind of new bug...

Yes I was thinking this. But out midfield is just so poor - we really need to try and catch up on 4 years of lost talent in our midfield. The rest we can restructure and tinker with later. Engined mids are what we need desperately and in number,

I think this story is just a GWS furphy designed to downgrade the trade value of pick 2. We would be mad to take it. Not because these guys aren't or could be potentially handy players, but because we need engined midfielders by the score.

I would definitely prefer Shiel. I was genuine emerging gun midfielders and my guts tells me this story came from a GWS source. I doubt we would accept this deal. Roos did say in his article that he wanted to add a defender, but we did have a midfield that Healy described as the worst he had ever seen in the AFL in 2013. As for rumours - ill have some more tomorrow.

I think you mean know. I'm quite happy where our trades are but I'm talking about my impression of the whole trade period and all the clubs.

I think the clubs view it like a long game of poker or a test match which is fine but not overly entertaining...

Lyons would be a good get. Some seem to really rate him.

I seriously cant remember when any of Jay Clarke's predictions or rumours turned out to be correct. I remember reading that he once said that Roos would never coach Melbourne.
