As for Barrett and Denim I'll say this. Neither have broken a story recently. In barrett's case I cannot remember a story he has broken. So how do you get attention? Harshly judging someone. And who do you harshly judge? Easy targets - targets that won't cost you contacts. Denim is also transparent. He has nothing but positive things to say about the Dees after Roos appointment, then reports our interest in two players but its reported no where else. I reckon he realized the rumour was bs so got annoyed and then started bagging us pitbagain - PJs never won a premiership, money all 2, paying overs for Roos. they bag us because they think it won't harm them to do so. It just attention seeking for relevance when you can't break a story.

Every draft is a lottery and every draft contains a few Cales. This draft is a bit thin and pretty even. Not the draft an informed judge would be fighting for pick upgrades on. saints will be judged harshly if they screw up their picks.

I hope he can do a preseason and tidy up for a big year. Lord knows we need a star midfielder having a break-out year. The last two quality mids we had were Scott Thompson and Cameron Bruce in 05 until he got injured.

The only caution I had with our trades was that I thought (perhaps) that Dylan Shiel might have had that agro factor that our midfield desperately needs. Not saying I don't rate Dom Tyson in any way and a pick 3 midfielder with fantastic pedigree and a stand out according to Oakleigh Chargers people. Michie was a steal and Vince an upgrade. Longer is not and wipl never be McEvoy. Nice bloke by all reports but didn't always get the pill at the Northern.

The difference between Barrett and Jay Clarke is that Barrett actually seems to believe his opinions matter.

Finey apparent claimed last night that the saints had the best trade period of any club. That might be the case if they can guarantee that their picks in the top 20 all turn out to be quality players. Looking through the names of the last six years in the top 20 indicates there are definitely no guarantees.

One of two gws players still being shopped around was Sam Darley who is now set to traded to the dogs. Apparently one more still open to a trade according to their manager but no names mentioned.
