  1. Cheers. Well that looked pretty grim. 3 weeks hey? Trengove would have got 5 plus. I dare anyone to challenge me.
  2. Viney to Boak to Clark. I like the sound of that.
  3. I still haven't seen footage of it. anyone got a link?
  4. Get him! Proven goal kicking midfielder who would thrive from the hard work of Magner and McKenzie. Did I mention he was proven? Whilst the kids this year in the draft may look good, remind me how our history of using high draft picks has turned out again.. We need mature age, plug and play. Boak is that. If we can get it done with our mid first round and a player, do it. If not pick 4 wouldn't bother me.
  5. Can I donate the old fashioned way? With cash?
  6. Exactly what I was feeling! What I take solace in, and suggest you do to- is we have a beauty of a full forward in Mitch Clark (even though he was taken from us for the rest of the season, such is life I guess), we have a solid backline with an awesome full back and a very promising backman in Mcdonald coming through, we have some Xfactor in Howe, we have some promising players in a few positions around the ground- it's just the midfield we sorely lack in. This upcoming draft (and I am getting a little sick of looking to drafts to fix our issues) is CRUCIAL for us. We need jets- we need them to be successful picks and we need them to stay and become ensconsed in all things MFC and we need them to be apart of and help us cultivate a new hard edge culture. These early picks- the $ully compos- MUST be fruitful. They have to be hits otherwise there will be more pain to come. No pressure
  7. Lol, sorry I got a good laugh from that comment
  8. I hope you're on the money there. Particularly with Gys, Couch and Cook.
  9. Sounds like we're waiting for the planets to allign for Cook's debut. Surely we couldn't be a worser team for it. Even if we are- what's the difference between a 30 point loss and a 50 point loss. I'd rather 60+ point losses whilst getting games into kids than 30 point losses with players who are either past it, or never had it. Stuff this trying to play the most "competitive" team, give games to the kiddies and give them to them NOW!
  10. You are an utter douchbag. If you couldn't see my comment was a snipe at the Trengove thread you are as thick as filthy Phil's BMI. By the way don't make comments on people's parents.
  11. What do you think he's worth in a trade?
  12. Neither could Adelaide last week. I guess their coach is no good either.. oh wait..
  13. I could say your view on the coach is harsh also. And it goes without saying I don't think all our players are [censored], just most of the midfield and a couple in the backline. I don't forget who trains them. Sometimes you can't polish a turd. And FWIW I actually don't think today was as bad as some people are going on about. We were always going to struggle to kick a winning score with no forward line- we are playing with two backmen in the forward line- so we are two regulars down-down back, we are missing Macdonald who has been terrific, and our midfield will always struggle with the lack of speed. See how good we do next year when we inject some midfield class into the team. Will the buck still stop with Neeld when we have some quality, or will it be the players who make us better?
  14. You will have to excuse me for not wanting to read through 7 pages of our post-mortem. I think blaming the coach is a simplistic view. And "the buck stops with.." is just a cliched saying that glosses over underlying problems. Like I said, it's the players that take the field and they are the ones creating turnovers/displaying sub-par skills. Now that's not to say that the coach is totally exempt, but we aren't involved with training/team meetings, we aren't in the inner sanctum of the club- so how can we blame the coach when we have no [censored] idea what is going on down there? FWIW I think our players are [censored] and we have had no quality players for our youngsters to learn off, "on the worksite" so to speak..
  15. Who's responsible for our [censored] disposal? Is it the players or the coaches? Either way I don't think you can blame Neeld for the amount of turnovers caused by kicks that go out of bounds on the full, and handballs that miss targets or go to players under direct pressure. Why are our skills so [censored]? Is it a confidence thing, or are we just a bunch of spuds? Who taught Davey to kick? Why can't he teach the rest of the squad. So many questions. Do we have to fix our coaches or our players. Have we stuffed up at the drafting table or in development, or both? Or do we have dud coaches? What is the problem with my team?
  16. How many games does it take to definitively know if a player isn't going to make it? Surely Bennell is past that now. I'd argue Bail has had enough chances, I think Moloney has been found out to be a one trick pony in a game where you need to be multifaceted. By the way, I would like to see Morton back in the team. Never thought I'd say that but I did see improvements bar the occasional momentum killing turn-over. Why isn't he afforded the same kind of continuity many of our other spuds have been given? I just don't know where MFC selection committee's heads are at. Too conservative for my liking, and it obviously isn't working out! BTW- any talk of McKenzie being deadwood is totally out of order morons! Would have him in the trenches with me anyday of the week! Rant over
  17. I just want us to start playing the kids- seeing as finals is and has been out of the equation for some time now- what the f are we doing faffing about playing players that clearly aren't apart of a successful team going forward?! Cook, Davis, Tynan, Couch, Jetta, Tynan, Gysberts- IN IMMEDIATELY (or when deemed match fit) Leave Spencer and Martin in for the rest of the year, Jamar can take a rest and get himself cherry rip for 2013. Bate, Bennell, Bail, Dunn, McDonald, Moloney- Thank you for your services- you are no longer required. Time to get serious and start getting games into the next generation, because we need a rebuild and if we are serious about seeing who can cut the mustard, we MUST start next week!!
  18. Holly [censored]! All this time I pictured you being a "Darryl Kerrigan" kind of bloke.. turns out you're Disco Stu! Rock on!
  19. Biased approach? He is the son of a former club great, and he is a gun! Here we go again... I'm out.. got stuff to do today. Good luck arguing semantics all day olisik
  20. At what cost though PaulRB? Any culture we have been trying to cultivate will be oblitherated! If we pass on Viney i'll just about throw the towell in. Think you'll find you'll have thousands of shattered Demon supporters also.
  21. I still think we might have to do a deal with these bottom feeders to ensure they don't try to upset our dream of Viney with second rounder and 3 first round draft picks- because at the end of the day they still have a chance to upset one of their competitors opportunity to make itself stonger. Some say getting Viney with second rounder isn't fair, but I say we need all the help we can get as we are a pathetic team. Basically we make a deal that wont cost us too much and we could end up with at best an extra superstar in our midfield, which we desperately need. Just watch Sheeds orchastrate GWS bidding for Viney, bet you he'd even bid for Viney over Daniher. I can see it coming from his wrinkly old deluded mouth right now. I remember hearing him say once words to the affect of "don't want to take any players from Essendon" because he holds no grudges against them. Hate this bloke.
  22. The former rules were one bid and then move onto the next club- which does give them an extra bite at the cherry- but the risk assessment will still be the same from GC or GWS- they will still risk losing a more promising kid if they try to play funny buggers. Personally I'm not too worried about the rule change- there is a good chance one of these two would bid for Viney and the other for Daniher anyway to force our hands. Actually they probably wouldn't have bid for Daniher because there are more opportunities for someone else to force Essendon's hand as they will have many clubs before them in the pecking order. Either way a secret deal would have had to be made by us IMO
  23. The rule change is largely inconsequential.. they are either going to bid for Viney, or they aren't. The "risk" is still the same to them.
