Crap leadership is my guess- what kind of trainers were Moloney, Sylvia, Green etc.. What kind of player development systems did we have in place? Who was in charge of seeing that industry standards were being met. Just an all round shitty culture with weak systems in place and weak characters setting the standard. Couple that with recruitees with less than elite attitudes (Viney Jnr wouldn't have put up with that [censored], Jones didn't ) and you end up with a list full of spuds. The Systems in place at MFC failed many young players. I feel were finally doing it right now. About [censored] time!!

I've got my YouTube highligts recruiters cap on, and with that I declare Laverde our pick 3. He has that class, that bit of silk, the evasiveness and deftness when needed. I see some Pendles in him. Hopefully the club see it the same. If they are looking for a tall midfielder who can play forward he is our man. A safer and more logical bet than a defender who MAY turn into a midfielder (Lever) I'm sure. I see a future of Laverde and Stretch running teams off their feet through the middle. So with Brayshaw and Laverde in this draft, the best mid available in next years draft and we snag a big forward in FA (Tex please) we could actually be in a bloody good position around 2016!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRENDAN McCARTNEY
Jesse Christ replied to kurtneverdied's topic in Melbourne Demons
He probably doesn't see it the same way now that he's getting paid to help develop pick 3 haha -
You can still do that, don't be afraid
-
All I took from that article is Robbie Gray looks so so incredibly good in a Dees jumper.... I mean really [censored] good....

Both will be equally forgettable in time..

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN NEWTON

Makes sense, why else would you reject a contract unless you had something else lined up. Hope we had a word in his ear. If we haven't I will be angry in advance for not studying strong midfielders stuck in minor leagues because of star-studded midfields. -

The Why would he not sign a contract with Port due to no game time only to want to go to Geelong? We can give him plenty of midfield time. Something doesn't add up -

Highlights look good enough to get regular midfield time, would be confused if we don't approach. -
Don't know if I was watching the right highlights but it looked like Wright's maximum distance was just on 50. I certainly cidnt see any set shots from outside 50
-
But what if the best midfielder and forward doesn't come from any of these names. Could be Wright at 6 and Degoey at 9 for all we know? Or Ahern and Pickett could end up being this years top draftee, who really knows?
-
It is a tough choice! We'll find out in about 5 years!

I was watching some Dean Kent highlights last night and in one of them Watts was spooked out of taking a sitter with the feared gorilla tamer Daniel Wells hot on his heels lol.. I wonder what Watts is being paid..

Socially inept people post on the internet? Say it ain't so! -
We would only hope to poach Petracca off GWS if he was good enough, and if he was good enough GWS wouldn't want to let him go. They only let us take Tyson because they saw him as excess stock- a mistake they'd be careful not to make again. The idea of letting someone go to another club to get developed and then expect them to be gifted to us later is flawed in every way. It is the dumbest most idiotic idea I've ever heard. GWS will struggle to hold on to all their talent from a salary cap point of view, but to think it can be manipulated to suit our designs is the dumbest thing I've ever heard on this forum.
-
We screwed them harder!
-
Is that good or bad? I'm assuming that's good?
-
But they were willing to downgrade the pick in a deal with GWS for pick 3, which in their mind would have allowed them to still get McCartin (assuming we would have taken Brayshaw), but when we got pick 3 and we had no currency (excess mids) for them to downgrade with, coupled with us flagging our interest in Mccartin, I think Saints were spooked into holding on to pick 1. We forced Saints into holding onto 1 and forcing them to chose between McCartin or someone else. We took their ability to downgrade and still get McCartin away from them lol. Now they're stuck with a choice and I have a feeling not everyone was on the same page hence Pelchin leaving. I couldn't tip who they're going to end up with and still feel they're selling themselves short if they don't jump at a KPF right now while Roo is still with them. We threw a major spanner in their works and it's brilliiant lol

Chips! A perfect accompaniment to a refreshingly cold Duff! Ohhh yeahhhh! Would hate to be in St.Kildas shoes, pick 1 is a tough one. You get the dynamic mid or the tall you need. Seriously feel like there were options available to Saints but it seems they were caught napping- didn't extract any value and have forced themselves against a wall with trading out Stanly, now it looks like they either go tall or sell themselves short! They should have downgraded and gotten one of the talls and a fancied mid. Now they have to chose. Idiots!

More bad player related puns? I mean wheelie?!!
-
I'm all for it. He is a gun who steps up in the big games, also a bit of revenge for taking Rivers, Clark and trying to take Frawley!

Let's just draft Tom McDonalds brother and be done with it* *havent seen him play, don't know if he can play, don't even know what he looks like.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Jesse Christ replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
They appealed Saad's 18th month ban for being too lenient when all he did was drink a sports drink. Good luck Essendrugs! -
Could he develop into anything better than we already have in the forward line though? If we draft McCartin and put Howe where he belongs in the forward line where would he fit in? We might have missed a chance to trade him, hope he comes good though
-
I was thinking that too but what can they do about it?
