A Day at the Races
Benbatl ran just 0.46 seconds outside the 2000m track record at Caulfield yesterday carrying 59kgs at WFA level. Winx at her best should win the Cox Plate but she's got some real competition. And 'Blair House' only got beaten by Benbatl by a nose yesterday so it has real claims as well. Humidor which lost out to Winx by only half a length in last year's Cox Plate was 2.5 lengths behind Benbatl & Blair House yesterday. It is going to be one hell of a race. As for the Caulfield Cup & Melbourne Cup and even the Moonee Valley Cup, Geelong Cup & the Hotham Hcp your guess is as good as mine. There are a few locals with real claims but the overseas contingent are sure to feature including 'Yucatan' from yesterday which was very impressive.

And the notion of a combined multi is starting to serve a good purpose ... we've got a couple of days to wait Wadda but that anticipation feels good knowing that we haven't risked much and we have the cash-out option as well. And for what it's worth, the last time I won a very good amount involved a MNF NFL game so there's another omen. Well done Norway and well picked @Dee Zephyr

A Day at the Races
@Diamond_Jim ... here's a link (below) to the Pegasus race meeting. There has been some talk that the Everest could have the same sort of issues especially if the slot-holders keep making losses without a line-up of ready-made replacements. It should be noted that a $7Million turf race has been added to the Pegasus card and that the organisers of the event were pursuing Winx to run in the new race. Meanwhile, the Everest is set to have prize money of $15Million next year. Should they just give the race to Redzel now? ha ha Anyway, here's the link ... Pegasus World Cup

Actually I got that wrong ... I need Spain to win in that 4pick as well. Just had a look at the cash-out offer and realised I've only got 2 of the 4 legs up ... and Spain don't play England until Tuesday so the bets are a bit of a slow-burn hey DZ. Anyway, if our bets are all still alive by Tuesday we'll be barracking against England - and then later on barracking for the Packers. That's gotta be tough for a Bears fan ?

A Day at the Races
The Autumn Sun - Awesome! Cox Plate next? Carrying 49kgs you'd reckon it's a no-brainer. It's only an extra 400m and the horse looks like it can cover extra ground quite easily. And Winx needs some competition!

A Day at the Races
I don't think so ... the connections have starting taking a more open-minded stance and I read that as they will go on with the horse. The Queen Elizabeth Stakes is worth $4Million next Autumn and Winx will still only be a 7yo then. I wouldn't even rule out another Spring campaign. The money is way too good to retire a horse too early ... Rupert Legh is now talking about taking an 8yo Chautauqua to the USA. And why not?

A Day at the Races
The overseas form for the staying races just can't be ignored but I'm taking full notice - snagged a reasonable percentage of the trifecta in the Caulfield Stakes and that dividend was way overs if the true form was taken into account. Winx might not have it all her own way in Cox Plate - Benbatl is a serious racehorse.

A Day at the Races
The Pegasus has been de-valued down to around about the $8Million mark DJ ... stand corrected on that one but I'll find out for sure later.

A Day at the Races
Redzel just way too good (again) in the Everest. Trapeze Artist & Le Romain boxed on well but the 3rd placegetter Osborne Bulls ran a terrific race racing down the Grandstand side. Really smart ride and picks up $1.2Million for the connections and in turn boosts up the exotic dividends. Ist & 2nd were no-brainers in hindsight but I wouldn't have had Osborne Bulls anyway. Over 10k for the First4. That's decent.

A Day at the Races
But if you can snag the tri or F4 at least you know it will be a healthy dividend DJ. With the heavy track a few can be kinda ruled out but who knows? Le Romain's heavy track form is excellent and I'm having a go at the boosted odds of 15-1. It's best form is very good anyway.

A Day at the Races
Yep ... and after winning the Edward Manifold just 1 week ago - flew home! Our pick Smart Melody looked like it found the distance a bit too long. Anyway, DK Weir does it again along with Craig Williams. The Wakeful and/or the Oaks now. Although as Darren Weir said, the horse has done enough already after winning this Group 1 race.

A Day at the Races
I have boxed your choices in race 9 in a trifecta ... the track up there isn't playing too badly at all. They are a couple of seconds off the better times but the gap isn't that much at all, all things considered.

Sunlight - all class! The day starts well again.

A Day at the Races
Well they ran 59.70 for the 1000m in the first at Randwick which isn't that slow ... they didn't seem to cut the track up too much either. We'll know more after a couple more races. 'Champagne Boom' looked very impressive winning the first at Caulfield ... cruised to the line and the Hayes group looked to have unearthed another classy type.

A Day at the Races
Seeing we're on a new page here are our best bets again collated by Wadda (above) The Randwick track is rated as a Heavy9 and showers are predicted for the late morning and the late afternoon. There's been a lot of scratchings up North and the heavy track form will come to the fore especially in the 'Everest'.

I'm glad you do these collations Wadda as it reminds me to put on the multi with the help of the booster odds. As you know, Laddies give out a daily allowance of booster bets so it pays to take advantage from Friday into Saturday. Cheers

A Day at the Races
Randwick is currently a Heavy9 and they are hoping for a Heavy8 if there isn't any more rain ... but rain is forecast for Sydney tonight & tomorrow so it could be a real bog. Related - The talk emanating from Sydney is that they're quite keen to change a number of their racing dates to mid November up to early December where the weather is a lot more kinder. The Everest along with the 'Championships' held in April could move to the later dates. Top choice with Voodoo Lad Wadda ... loves the track and is in top form. Hutchy's top pick too.

I forgot you were a Packers fan Wadda ... we need a win so let's hope Rodgers can have a day-out. Lambeau helps a lot and the team will be smarting from recent performances. Hartnell I like too ... was ultra-impressive in the Epsom Hcp and I marked it at or near the top in the Toorak Hcp. Might do the double hey?

A Day at the Races
Gator has your horse as his best bet DZ along with 'The Autumn Sun' in the Guineas and he is in good form with his tips (as per usual) But I don't mind 'Oohood' getting into the finish in the Guineas and 'Native Soldier' could scoot away around the final turn as well. The Speed map for the race has Native Soldier settling 1st or 2nd. And Oohood has charged home to get into the finish in every one of its 10 races and it has run sharp times, every time.
