A Day at the Races
Yeah Wadda, I base my betting strategy around the chat here, my own thought's, Gator's tips & JJ's tips so I've had to readjust. And in the end I boxed a few behind Winx for a bit of value (in a F4) Searched out JJ's best bet - Morphettville Race 7 No.7 Excessabeel ($5.20)

Gator's top pick too Wadda ... I'm on. JJ's tips aren't up ... and if they aren't up by this time they usually don't appear.

A Day at the Races
The Lightning is always a tough race to find the standout winner Wadda but that suits my way of punting (exotics) ... the pools will be large and the dividends could be very healthy with the right combo & outcome. Osborne Bulls has got a real good chance - quality field though. But that's the case with nearly all the Group races.

A Day at the Races
Flemington Saturday (all races) Randwick Saturday (all races) The standout races being the Lightning Stakes (race 8 ) at Flemington & the Apollo Stakes (race 6) at Randwick. The Light Fingers Stakes (race 7) at Randwick has attracted a very good field and it is a similar story for the CS Hayes Stakes (race 7) at Flemington. Those are the 4 features that will attract the most interest.

And with the odds booster including Winx kicks it up to 100-1 from 92-1. 2 coffees becomes 200 coffees (Alex Watson territory)

A Day at the Races
Nice work Wadda ... I'll get on later. 20 units of the 40 units expected return from a Winx win could be invested in advance on a F4 in the race - it's like a free bet really. The initial 20 units outlay you can get back and keep. Remembering that in this race - 2018 Winx Stakes the F4 paid $2807 with Invictus Prince running 2nd. The best outsider that could run 2nd in the Apollo Stakes is probably Tom although 'Egg Tart' can run a sharp 1400m if the horse can find its best form. As is always the case with the Winx races, it's just a matter of snagging a trifecta (of sorts) with the remaining runners in order to snag the F4. And the race being a WFA affair means it's best to look for WFA form. Happy Clapper is therefore the standout WFA performer of the rest and again, it trialed very well recently.

A Day at the Races
Laddies are offering $2 for Winx winning again ... $20 maximum bet but that's money for old rope. Unless they run 'Tom' forward again there may not be a lot of speed in the race so Winx may not win by a big margin. But then again, she might win by 6+ lengths. Happy Clapper trialed really well recently and Unforgotten is a top-rater. I reckon that's the top 4 with Winx on top of course. Tom ran a very quick 01:21.17 over 1400m in winning it's last start so Waller might have figured out how to get the best out of the horse. Winx wins but if one can figure out 2nd, 3rd & 4th (in order?) then there's a half decent return to be had if taking a F4 combo multiple times.

Best Bet Randwick Race 4 No.2 Don't Give a Damn $3.80 An old favourite ... our very first best bet (it won) It's first up form is 3 from 3 and McEvoy is on board. Drawn perfectly too. Looks well placed.

You're the resident comedian so you should be Groucho, I'm a bit of a motor mouth so I can't be harpo so Deeza plays the harp. I guess that makes me Chico "Get your tootsie frootsie icecream"

Google works as well but I thought having all the links attached to the ESPN pages puts everything into line ... no typing involved either. Just click on the link and you're there for the next lot of games. After a while, you get to know who all the good performing teams are as well as the poorly performed teams (without having to consult the standings) ... I once picked up a sizeable multi involving the Brazilian & Argentian leagues so I included them as well. And in the NBA there are any number of teams that are tanking for more marbles in the draft. All info is important Wadda - I don't like leaving anything out!

NFL
More football? Can it last? The 'Alliance of American Football' lasts from early February until late April and could be viewed as a 3 month extension of the NFL albeit under another banner. 8 teams in its inaugural season all based out of reasonable sized to large sized cities. As DS pointed out with regards to the masses of viewers that the NFL gets, this new league might just get a foothold. NFL fans over there are as fanatical as Aussie rules fans are here but even if this new league only picks up 10% - 20% of those NFL fans, it could be a success. The cities represented might decide to get behind their representative teams and the league. Interesting that Atlanta is represented but Atlanta is a very large city. Also interesting that CBS and the CBS Sports network are covering the games as is the NFL Network. You just never know - it's America where all things are possible. Took about half an hour Wadda but the links will last for as long as there is no change to the linked site's configuration's. So it's a simple copy & paste for the one-stop-shop. I have added the NBA & NHL schedules via 2 more links (to the above post) Forever having to search for the games involving the big teams via various websites will be made a lot easier and the links will save a lot of time for those who are interested. The links to the scheduling of the Footy, Rugby League, Union, MLB and other sports will be added when applicable.

Fair enough ... let's leave it to the weekend then Wadda. With soccer, the 2nd tier in England (The Championship) often throws up lots of goals and the top 8 teams often win at home as well. If I do a multi on a Saturday night I sometimes prefer the Championship as the value is often much better. English League Championship Fixtures & Results .

If I get a chance Wadda I will try and post up a few links to the upcoming big soccer games to be played on the weekend. As it is the Champions league kicks off again tomorrow morning so we could do a midweek special if people have got the time. 2 Games Wed morning and 2 games Thursday morning. Just a thought.

A Day at the Races
The Orr Stakes was a better race when it was at Sandown ... the big uphill straight brought the stayers into the race. Now a number of the stayers steer clear and those stayers that do run often get caught too far back at Caulfield.
