I thought it was a done deal-why would the players have any say whatsoever? I thought we were trying to build a genuine connection with Indigenous cultures? Or is it too hot for our militant unionist player group to go up north .This doesn't make sense .The straw that broke the camels back was a dumb coach obsessed by stats . The straw that broke the coach wasn't a straw , but more of an avalanche .Bailey thought people wiping their feet on the oldest football club in the world was OK .He still wasn't upset about it either .Who really cares if the players say it's too hard ,too hot ,too high ,too far .Those are the players to draft .This club is not a democracy in which the players have some kind of say .Get it? Their job is to play AFL .That means they'll go where we send them when we send them.

I am a Schwab fan because of what he has done for the club.For all his corporate speak and KPI jargon the guy has identified most of our off-field problems and dealt with them beautifully .I heard him and CC talk at a golf day for past players as I just happened to be at the bar when they spoke .All the issues we had back then are gone .They also spoke about re-connecting the club with old players and supporters.The coach was the problem for us as has been said here by many people but any kind of player revolt Bailey may have organised was half-arsed and badly executed , as his game plan always was .So what if Schwab has never been involved with a flag.He has done everything possible to get us one and perhaps he gets too involved at times from what I see and hear .I'd rather someone who works as hard as he does than a flake. I don't know the internal workings of the club that well but he presents an intelligent and considered face for us considering Jims health .The last thing we need is panic and mass sackings .Blame the players and the coach for last Saturday . They were the only reason the whole club was made to look a rabble .

Gary and Ox are both Demon champs that cop unfair comments in this asylum , They both have the club at heart and i am convinced we have a good mix of people from that late 80's era to take the club back to that period of success or better .Bailey ,whilst professional ,seemed a little too concerned with stats and outdated strategy to inspire fans and players .I am confident Viney will get some passion back into our game just from remembering his bull at a gate style of play . There has been too much talk of contracts and draft rules about this club .The fact are we have an obscenely talented ,extremely raw list of of talented dreamers that think they have the ability of Scully but wont make the same extreme commitment to the club or the game .Scully staying and the right coach will get this club looking extremely good for next year .I hope the players learn to respect , . the jumper and the game above cash and politics and talk of other peoples commitment besides their own . Compare what we paid OX and Gary back then under Northey to what we pay the attempted coup makers we call a leadership group .I exclude Maloney from Saturday because he was ill and shouldn't have played but he probably wouldn't pull out with broken legs .Aside from Maloney , the on-field leadership is now in the hands of Frawley and and some 20 year old kids . Old boys club or not ,the people who care about the club are coming through at the right time .If we cant get the right coach then pay Lyon enough to leave the media and coach .I'm happy to have Lyon ,CC ,Viney ,Flower and Stynes involved .Ox would be a top forward coach as well .

I'd be happy with Matthews or Laidley .Roos is my third choice . Please no:Mark Williams or Rod Eade .

Schwab did what he should have done earlier .Sack Bailey . The players should shut the f*&k up and get a kick . If they think the MFC is some kind of democratic institution then they should read the fine print in their contract that says "run until I say stop you dog".

The fact that Dean Bailey allowed that crap to ferment shows the club has made EXACTLY the right decision and that we need a coach to discipline this stupid bunch of front runners who have begun to confuse the size of their talent with the size of their paychecks . Look forward to seeing what Green and Rivers can do ON the field . The players should stick to football if they want to ensure their jobs .

Thanks for putting in for the club financially and emotionally and for such a long time .I think the China trip was quite a visionary exercise in awareness raising for the game and the club .If we attract foreign sponsors , as we have ,then we may benefit long-term from this .Maybe the players didn't appreciate it then because they could have been in Bali singing Khe Sahn but the players opinions mean nothing to me now .They should be treated as cattle that either perform to a code or they go . The importance of the club is paramount to me now after Saturday .The players are expendable pieces of meat who exist in a gladitorial industry .They aren't paid big bucks to ask questions of their bosses . They and their management need constant reminders of how little they mean in comparison to this great club .The club does not need to lift its game . The players do .

Junior ,Bruce and Miller were all made to make way for the development of new kids on the list .If anyone is upset about the administration of the club then they should leave . Any kind of player revolt over who is picked to coach ,captain ,manage or do any other job is ridiculously unprofessional from a player point of view .I don't know why Bailey's job was reviewed on a Friday before a game but this shouldn't have affected the players so dramatically .Who we delisted last year is also irrelevant .I hope the players learned that after the first bounce there are only 21 other guys that will help them survive and that they cannot rely on coach ,manager ,ceo or president to do it for them .This team hasn't earned the right to question authority in any way . If I was Viney I would [censored] them up and down the park .The first five to quit can end their contracts on the spot . F*&^en bunch of cry-babies .

Screw the press . Even Caroline Wilson got it wrong about Schwab and CC . The players clearly weren't playing for Bailey . We've made the change we need . It's up to the core now to turn it around . The rest can jump ship if they want . We'll be back .

Really didn't see the Cam Schwab thing coming at all despite several posts mentioning the football dept being too small . I thought he was doing ok but maybe his ego went bananas or something ? Maybe Caro Wilson is full of it . If this is a Scully lead coup against the entire administration then maybe he is the messiah? A political coup by a 20 year old injured player led to this? Or is it this . The "long term" strategy we have implemented in the Club ethos has robbed us of our short term need to survive ,compete ,win ,fight ,struggle until such time when we are "ready"? Boys are boys and men are men as far as I know . No more excuses about off field issues need be in the players mind when they play . The players had no self respect out there . Certainly none for their coach or supporters either . Throw in the kids who show some pride in the jumper . Green must be dropped ,Bailey Sacked . Anything else I just dont know enough to comment on

I don't think the board will sack him after agreeing to take a long term rebuild approach . It would be a bit of hypocritical thing to do . However ,If we're pathetic for the rest of the year then we should have a look at a few resumes .

The whole Bate and Dunn thing is just scapegoating . We need a good list of 30 AFL hardened dudes before we'll get OUR flag back . Are Maric ,Evans ,Jetta ,Bennell ,Spencer ,Blease worthy of staying ahead of Dunn and Bate? If we keep cutting guys in the 60-100 games area then we'll just watch them go on to flags at other clubs while we continue the hopeful but frustrating re-build. we need to hold them together ,not trade everyone .
