  1. No one has doubted his talent, but when judging football I trust my eyes. Let's hope he has a good year. He has to look his teammates in the eyes.
  2. Now Yze is slow. He's lost any pace he ever had.
  3. True, but you need to go when it's your turn, you need to be able to keep low when you have to rather than dinky kicks to avoid body contact, or one arm attempts instead of two because you're more interested in self preservation. He's got softer as he's got older. Not best 22 for me. Tonnes of ability, but no work ethic. It will be his last year.
  4. No, one Freo supporter suggested it on the Dees BF forum. Let's not embellish, eh ?
  5. This from someone who doesn't realise how good Judd is. Carroll's pace is his best asset.
  6. So was Heffernan. Players are ultimately judged on output not their draft position. WC rightly don't rate Josh Kennedy from Carlton who was pick 4. It means nothing. That said, I'm not against Meesen. Never seen him.
  7. I'm glad you see the irony He spoke like you write.
  8. I respected him and I reckon he could coach, but there was much I didn't like. The fact that he struggled cobbling a sentence together was a source of amusement at times.
  9. What ? He also can't string two words together ?
  10. Was it a caller, or that d!ckhead Finey.
  11. I'll bow to those with a better knowledge of juniors than me, but Palmer looks like an oversized Garry Moorcroft. I'd really like class with pick 4. Pace would be great, but not essential. I don't know enough about Cotchin, Morton or Masten, but Ebert looks very good. I'd pass on Palmer from what I've seen.
  12. Our best player who's had 2 top 10 B&F finishes in a decade. A player who won't get any better. A player who turns 28 next season. A player that's lazy and half dedicated. No wonder we're a shyt club if he's our "best player". Sense of humour ? Yeah, mine's gone. I wonder when some apologists for Johnstone will tire of defending his undoubted talent and stop being mesmerised by a few risky but ingenious passes. We all know that he delivers the ball beautifully to forwards. We know that time stands still for him. We know he makes the forwards lead to space by defly weighted clever kicks. Unfortunately his cameo performances that still seduce so many no longer cut it for me. I expected so much more from someone with his natural ability. He's also representative of an all too easily pleased culture down at Melbourne. I'd happily trade him.
  13. Rubbish.
  14. Don't believe everything you read on Bigfooty. Especially from Carlton supporters.
  15. I too like all I hear about Bailey. From his articulate speech, his commanding presence, supposed quick wit, footy smarts, and great teaching ability. He's impressive all round. And he's already won the masses over. But when he loses 3 in a row he'll be crud round here
  16. The likely pick 4 contenders appear to be Ebert, Masten, Rance, and Palmer. I suspect it won't be McEvoy. Ebert has our new Port connection, but I'm sure they'll take counsel form CAC and go for best available. Palmer looks fantastic to me, but admittedly it was only snippets of one game on tv. WJ has concerns regarding his disposal, but his technique looked good. Rance sounds like a 200 game FB, so that also appeals. He's bigger than any FB prospect currently on the list and lord knows we need a great KPB. A key position player at pick 4 is the riskier option and Frawley was picked with this in mind last year.
  17. My brother is a Hawks supporter and connected down there. He reckons he's soft, although he did improve through last year. I can understand him being available at a price.
  18. The main reason Judd spoke to Melbourne was Connors' very hich regard for Craig Cameron. Connors speaks very highly of our club, our players as a collective, and our future prospects. To name a few, he manages Bate, Dunn, Miller, Robertson, Newton as well as the recently departed Nathan Brown and Bizzell. Judd has always wanted to go to Collingwood. His manager is helping him get to the club he wants. Unfortunately he's chosen Carlton ahead of us. That I can't understand. Look, I'm over the precious p.rick with the Oedipus complex, but I have no problem with Connors, or his role.
  19. Pity, I was hoping he'd go.
  20. I feel like Jennifer Hawkins just dumped me. Well, you've got some big tickets on yourself Juddy and you're a tad precious. Get farked.
  21. Because we were definite outsiders before we met Judd and Collingwood were his initial preference. That's why Sheehan, Smith, etc are sticking to the Judd to Collingwood line. His manager didn't directly say it but it wasn't refuted that Judd favoured the Pies. Now a lot has happened since then and we impressed during our meetings, particularly Bailey, but was it enough ? Collingwood are rightly favourites.
  22. I doubt it will be enough and if it is it's a bargain. Judd will go down as one of the greatest players of all time. He's certainly the most explosive player I've ever seen. If he plays for the MFC for 150 games I'll be amazed if he doesn't finish his career as the greatest to have ever pulled on the red and blue. I'm not sure if some on here realise how good he is. The MFC haven't had a franchise player since the AFL's inception in 1990. Not one. We need one. The significance of recruiting Judd is monumental. Not only on the field, but off it. Our membership will increase, our crowds will increase, our attraction to sponsors will increase, our merchandise sales will increase. The positive psyche of the club will increase. If Judd comes to Melbourne he'll drag me through the gate when I feel half hearted about going. If we're playing interstate I'll make an effort to be there. We'll have 8-10 years of arguably the greatest midfielder of all time. Pick 4 may turn out to be a great player, but the chances of him being a Judd, Carey, or Matthews are virtually non existent.
  23. Most won't understand, but if he doesn't come to the Dees I hope he goes to Collingwood. At least I'll understand. I won't understand if he picks the Blues over us.
  24. I feel ashamed that I don't have a mate that knows Clark Hansen. Look, I can't win on any Judd rumour and it's doing my head in like everyone else. I've just waxed lyrical about why I reckon he'll be a Demon only to receiv info from 2 different people in the last 30 minutes that he prefers Collingwood. One of them with credible information. And yes, I won't divulge. Does that mean he won't be a Dee ? No. Even if he prefers the Pies a deal still has to be done, etc. I know this doesn't help.
  25. Yes, and I meant it. But I still gave it some 'weight'. Wasn't that clear in my post ?
