  1. I'm not sure you typed what you meant. That said, I believe we rated Grimes ahead of Masten.
  2. Anyone who looks at Richard Griffith's recruiting record will have a better understanding of Cameron's undoubted qualities.
  3. No you're right. Entering his 14th season he'll banish those demons for good. "Who the hell are these 'most people' you're trying to patronise, anyway?" 99% of the readers.
  4. Unfortunately, and I realise that most on here don't realise it, but you don't win flags with players who get 'spooked'.
  5. After reading the article it is clear to me that Yze still doesn't "get" it. Twenty possessions doesn't abrogate your responsibility to put your head over the ball rather than toe poke it when contact is likely, to "go" when it's your turn, to man up, chase, tackle with intensity instead of token efforts, .... I also suspect that the previous coach failed to adequately communicate these shortcomings, or simply chose to put up with them.
  6. You're very wrong. And yes, you don't think.
  7. I don't see how you can rate Jakovich's career over Neitz. At some point longevity must come into it, otherwise Darren Cuthbertson would be a star. I saw Jakovich's last game against Hawthorn and he had 8 til half time before he got injured. He was a sublime talent, but no "champion" in my eyes. You can't alter a TTOTC. Neitz will have his moment in the son when other 'best ofs' are debated and named. Neitz has made me pull my hair out over the years. From dropping chest marks, handballing to teammates in the square when he's 10 metres out, headbutting the ground, etc. I didn't call him Jethro for nothing. That said, he gets a bum wrap. History should, and I suspect will, judge him very kindly. In fact, I think he's vastly underrated over the journey. Imagine if he'd ever had a gun midfield. Overrall he's stood up and been a marvellous warrior for the red and blue. I'd have him ahead of Viney. But I'm one who can't believe that Viney got on the bench in TTOTC ahead of Greg Wells. That's plain wrong. I can only assume it's because Wells finished his career elsewhere and Viney was top of mind having just retired.
  8. You were going well until this. Can you imagine the disinterest of lowly clubs and their supporters ? Can you imagine tanking for 15 rounds ? The finals take long enough to come around as it is. I'd rather a 15 round season than 30.
  9. From limited footage I really like the look of Grimes. And MacNamara reminds me of Sydney's Craig Bolton.
  10. Maybe he's been seduced by the raft of early picks he'll get at the Toiges.
  11. Sorry for seeming to pick on you, but that's rubbish. We'll know if it's a good selection in 1-4 years, and you can't "officially" say anything. CAC hopes and thinks they were the best available, and they may be, but if they're not he's accountable. Stop the child like worshipping and obsequious comments.
  12. This perception of Bate is wrong. I know some supporters hold this view, but it's a fallacy. Firstly, I've seen Bate at full tilt and pace is one of his assets, especially at his size. Secondly, I've been to training sessions where the coaching staff rip into Bate about using his natural speed to far greater effect than he does. He needs to be pushed as he tends to go at three quarter pace when he should be showing more urgency, or continue to be an option rather than spectate. And you also sell Bartram short. His kicking needs some work, but imo he's much better than a 'toiler'.
  13. They were far from secrets.
  14. Yet you had him at 18 ? Interesting.
  15. I have no doubt that the club gives credence to this, but I also have no doubt that in the early part of the draft they pick 'best available'.
  16. And some have been calling for pace for years.
  17. I'm not wedded to it but I'm surprised by some of the schoolboy angst over it. One of the worst clash jumpers I've seen is our current one.
  18. He averages 42 now ? This guy is amazing. His possession rate goes up by the day.
  19. If Morton is available he'll be the supposed best pick at 4. Why am I worried about this ? I know that it's silly to be concerned by pick 4's notorious dubious past, save Pavlich, but I am. Masten will be a meat and potatoes 200 game midfielder and whilst I've concerns about Palmer I suspect he'll be good, if not quite a 'star'. Morton ticks many boxes and has huge upside, but I sense risk with his 'type'. Morton will be the obvious choice and no doubt "best available". Let's hope he lives up to the billing if he slips through.
  20. He's only listing the WA players in order. It's not representative of the draft.
  21. He'd want to be a lot better as Davey aint that good. I very much doubt he's faster.
  22. I wanted Chris Johnson to be traded at the end of the season but now have a funny feeling he'll be delisted at the end of 2008.
  23. Two things. 1. He's used his eyes, and 2. He's factoring upside. Masten for me.
  24. Yeah. So ? They're black.
  25. What's wrong with comparing Aboriginal footballers ? Now they may not be overly similar from a playing style but why would you be so "offended" by the suggestion ? I know I wouldn't. We're so careful to be seen to be reasonable and above reproach in today's society that we're defensive when we need not be.
