  1. And I thought he was our coach. Damn them.
  2. A lot of smart people want Bailey. And personally, if it's true, I'm delighted as he's my preferred candidate. I'll back the 'process' and those smart people over the originator of this thread.
  3. If you're right then I'm one happy puppy.
  4. Yze got 3 - wrong decision. Bizzell got 3 - wrong decision. Robertson ? I'd happily trade him for the right deal. Btw, many supporters strongly criticised the club for those aforementioned 3 year deals at the time. There's no benefit of hindsight here.
  5. Whilst our level of injuries may be entirely coincidentally linked to BB's arrival, if I ran the joint I'd at least want to look at the link, as tenuous as it might be. To summarily dismiss any possibility wouldn't be good governance.
  6. The Darkside.
  7. A point of correction. Healy stated that "if that's all he's remembered for .... " He never said that that would be all he's remembered for. A subtle but very important difference. Fwiw, I doubted him. Not his talent as I've seen him at training, I've seen him play for Sandy at TBO, and was there at Casey Fields when he impressed. But I was also at Telstra Dome before the season commenced for the intraclub that served to be a trial run for channel 7. Combined with his well known immaturity and the fact that it was his third year, I ran out of patience after that effort. Aren't we all pleased now though. Perhaps not a time for point scoring.
  8. You're obviously too young to have seen Flower play.
  9. Oh, was that the first time ?
  10. Delist. Especially when he had to ask former Kangaroos teammates what he should do. When they said "Choppy, no one else will pick you up", he said, "you're right, I'd better pull my head in", he'd finished in my eyes.
  11. correction nothing. Where do I talk of Rising Stars ? I'm talking about the MFC.
  12. Jones averages 16 possessions per game. For those who've played 13 or more he's seventh in disposals average. I love Jones as a young player, and yes, we're having a pathetic year, but he won't win it and nor does he deserve to. Spare me the drivel about hard ball contests, in and under efforts, showing up more experienced teammates, etc, etc. I know all of that, but the fact remains that in this early stage of his career he doesn't get enough footy and nor does he use it well enough. I'm wrapt with his progress, but he's no B&F winner.
  13. I don't like the rule for one major reason. It's not in the rule book. Hands are allowed in the back (in the official rules) as long as it is incidental contact and no pushing has occured.
  14. Without question I want to lose that match. It's a no brainer. Just like I wanted to lose round 22 against Sydney in 2003. That loss delivered McLean. Pick 2 and a priority pick versus a meaningless win and pick 3 ? As I said, it's a no brainer.
  15. How is your English comprehension ? I said that I didn't want Connolly to coach the MFC, so spare me your reasons why not to take him. It makes it look like you're trying to convince me. Also, I know what the thread is about. I also know what I read in numerous posts. Once again, I commented on the 'man' because the 'man' was being played. This in itself suggests I know the concept of the threads originator. You do have an infuriating way about you. I'm not sure that you take in what you read.
  16. I agree. Whilst I'd rather Voss as coach and the Dees to take a risk - I mean what have we got to lose after 42 years - the stuff written about Connolly on this thread dismays me. Btw, I too don't want Connolly to coach the MFC, but I love his honesty, humour, integrity and the way he handles himself.
  17. Wheatley is an interesting one. In a good side he could be a very damaging footballer. In an average side he goes missing. Unlike most he has some trade value. There are many I'd let go before him. Godfrey has been blessed by Bartram's injury. Like Daniher, he's run his race. But if I was a betting man I'd say he'll stay. He's lucky I'm not an applicant
  18. True, and imo the MFC has been tardy in turning their list over in recent years. Too much faith and too long on the list for too many. However, I know many disagree.
  19. Thanks, Heart. I still read.
  20. Ps: Bullshoy. Welcome back! How long you sticking round for this time?
  21. I'll tell you why Frankster. Much like the greatest and most strategic board game in the world - chess, football games are won by the teams that make the least mistakes. Sure, Godfrey has some boxes ticked, as has been recognised on D'Land, and they're plain for all to see, but his weaknesses; ie lack of class, pace, skill, as well as the numerous turnovers, are too detrimental to a team's well being and reduce the chance of his side winning. Pressure, perceived pressure, tackling, strategies, turnovers, set plays, one percenters, etc, are all designed to cause the opposition to fumble, make poor decisions, poor execution, and allow one's own team to enhance their scoring opportunities. Footy scribes often speak of the best 'team' in the league as opposed to individual brilliance. Great teams work for each other, pressure the opposition into 'mistakes', and capitalise by superior movement of the ball. In essence, the good teams make the least amount of 'mistakes'. It's not measured by the clanger count, but mark my words, the team that wins will have made the least mistakes. The better gameplan will lose if the mistakes are too many. I'll remember Godfrey as a fine servant of the MFC. A player who eeked out the most of his ability. But going forward, I want to start turning this list over. If it means two steps back and one step forward and closer to the only thing that counts (a flag) then I embrace it. And there's no better time than now. The time of good honest servants is over for me. Oh, and as for the triumvirate you mention ? I too would free up their careers.
  22. Probably true. And I'd delist him at year's end. Would you ?
  23. Thankfully a couple of them are alive.
  24. Do you feel unclean ?
  25. Fan, c'mon ! We agree on 90%, it would be bloody boring if it was 100.
