Seaby is a hack = definately no. McKinley is way too one dimensional. He's 184cms so ke's no key forward, but that's the only role he can play = no Reilly maybe, but not fussed. If he was the only thing floating around in the PSD you'd think about it.

Or Parliament House. It's my list, it's the correct list and Sylvia stays.

I prefer to argue, so I will. I'd prefer Sylvia in a Final than Davey due to his physicality. Finals matches go up in tempo and I'm yet to see Davey stand up in a big game. And as you can see by my sig, it's all about Finals intensity that defines a player. And yes, Sylvia is also an unknown quantity in Finals, but he's shown enough this year that he could be the type of strong finisher that Finals teams need. Plus, given the window of opportunity that I'm forecasting for a tilt at a flag is 2013 onwards, Sylvia's age becomes significant. In 2013 Davey will be 29 and Sylvia 27. Yes Davey will still have pace, but I rate Sylvia's capacity to influence a Final greater than Davey's. Especially when the latter may well be 30+ by the time we get there. I win.

My top 10 'untouchables'. Bearing in mind that we hold pick 1, and won't give it up, it's reasonable to refer to them as 'untouchables' . In particular order: 1. Watts 2. Morton 3. Grimes 4. Frawley 5. Blease 6. Sylvia 7. Jurrah 8. Garland 9. Strauss 10. Bennell My top six are all first round draft picks. History tells me that first rounders are the key to building a premiership side. I've seen enough of Blease and Strauss to firmly believe that they'll be key components of our next premiership tilt. Jurrah is the equivalent of a first rounder on talent alone. Garland is the prototype attacking backman that can play on talls and smalls. Premiership teams always have strong backlines. He and Frawley provide solid structure to any defensive set-up. I've put Bennell in on a hunch. His pace, skills, attacking nature should hold him in good stead. With physical development his upside is enormous. He was line-ball with a couple of others for my pick 10. As you can see, my top 10 is very youth oriented, but our class is our youth. Our class is a first round draft picks. Just about every one of those players is an exceptional kick also. With Scully and Trengove it provides a strong core dozen players that can surge to flag contention in the years 2013 onwards. I think it's different to every other top 10, which comforts me.

Paul Wheatley Mathew Whelan and Russell Robertson
Hannabal replied to Carn dees's topic in Melbourne Demons
Robertson - best game for me rnd 20 V Geelong at SS = 7 goals - one of the great high marks in the game Whelan - no stand-out game, but at times our most important defender and just a true and loyal soldier Wheatley - best memory - fantastic 2nd half against Brisbane at the Gabba rnd 14 2002 - would have been better in a better side - top bloke -
Long range forecasts are pretty futile. No-one saw a Hawthorn flag last year, but more to the point, many people - and I mean many - thought St.Kilda's window for a flag closed two years ago. You may have been one of them.
-
You may have missed the fact that the club publicly stated earlier this year (or late last) that not withstanding Watts receiving number 4 in future new draftees will be given higher numbers until they earn a lower one.
-
I favour Trengove too, but Morabito has star factor all over him. Supporters really shouldn't form concrete views unless they've seen a player live.
-
I reckon they're [censored] and that Sheedy didn't help when they went down a couple of years before us. What's your point ?
-
You said that he was considered a likely prospect "simply because he was a talented footballer". It was wrong.

What has this question got to do with what I posted ?

I'm sure that I have more time for Bailey than our friend Brockstars, but this "deserve" business doesn't cut it with me. I'm sure that you're just one of many that hold this view btw, but I want my club to win a flag. If the club thinks in a year or two's time that Bailey is the man to take them there then well and good, but if they think that someone else is better equipped then I'd expect a change, no matter how unfair, or whether some people believe that Bailey "deserved" a further chance or not. It's about the club. And it's about a flag.
-
Ironically, it's the two spoons in a row that will give this club it's best shot at a flag in 40 years.
-
He's a 190cm strong, fast, line breaking rampaging bull. He's nothing like a Fiora or Wells. At worst he'll be very very good. Could be a superstar.
-
Knights veterans are far better quality and still performing - save Lucas. He was hardly going to pension off Lloyd and Fletcher, and nor did he need to. I'm not privvy to Bailey's interviews. I'm not sure that he would have talked down the list, but more so discussed his strategy moving forward. He didn't need to be a rocket scientist to realise that most of our veterans had had it. You knew it, I knew it, he knew it, and the club knew it. If he'd suggested otherwise he wouldn't have got a look in. Essendon started their list rebuild 2 years earlier and were at a more advanced stage. So I don't see it as a great analogy.

Just a question; have you seen him play live ? It really does put a different perspective when you're at the game and closely watching someone. I'll often watch a replay after having been at the match and you miss the intangibles. Anyway, here's a recent video. Watch all 9 minutes, but remember, you still can't quite get a feeling of how fast someone is, etc, just on video. He'll kick the odd floater, but he has X factor in spades and will become a Sam Kekovich time running monster. He's still only 17. http://www.footballnation.com.au/draft-3/2...thony-morabito/ You may have to scroll down a bit. That said, I'm slightly leaning to Trengove, but would be happy with either. And I'll probably go back and forth for the next few months.
-
I know you love your one-liners, but actually say something man. Wtf are you talking about ? Detail it.
-
Perhaps next time you won't make an ill informed declaration.
-
It has to be Freak annointing Morabito.
-
I saw Stopp play in the champs at Casey last year and he went alright.
-
I want star mids win flags, not decent ones. We haven't had one come into the system for 35 years, so they're not easy to find.
-
Rogue answered that when he correctly stated that he wouldn't have got the job in the first place if that was the direction he was advocating during the interview process.
-
Hey Freak, I just saw on another thread that you want Morabito at pick 2. You seem to have changed your mind. That's all.

Reminds me of a young Bartel. I don't see the Gibbs comparison.
