  1. I actually agree with BBP. I really think Brad Miller would have been a big difference out there yesterday. We needed a leading target at half forward. All we had was PJ. Brad Miller will play next week. And deserves his chance. He is still a certain de-listing at the end of the year.
  2. Needed to move Davey and Green as permanent forwards half way through the third quarter. Needed Johnson to go to the bench. We really could have used Miller as a target across centre half forward yesterday. I know Bailey is trying to get our players to get the game plan right, but im starting to get worried that there is no plan B. Bailey would have to take a lot of credit for the loss.
  3. Maximum Gawn. Can't wait for this kid to be fit. Unfortunately we are probably going to have to wait till next year for him to play at senior level. Next week I would play Dunn. Was unlucky to be dropped. Has got a massive tank, can help out in the ruck against ports weak 2nd ruck option. Provides a bit of mongrel and all he needs to do is kick 2 goals and he will be loved by every fan on demonland. Won't be the best option as 2nd Ruck every week. But will be the best option next week. There is no point bringing Martin in. He has done nothing better than Pj this year.
  4. They certainly did. After the 08 Grand final they wanted someone to help out there backline, especially with Croad looking in bad shape. Jared was injured at the time, I doubt they would have offered us anything better than their second rounder. We told them that we were not interested but put the offer to Rivers anyway. And he said No.
  5. Well they did a few years ago didn't they? I doubt they offered us anything worthwhile.
  6. Agreed. I hate it when supporters do this crap. Some of the demon supporters on bigfooty are the worst. They make us all look bad.
  7. Because it's a new thread which is about how many people have looked at another thread. And then continued on with the same topic as the other thread. Why couldn't he have just posted the opening post in the current thread?
  8. Thanks for the new thread. Just what we needed. Why couldn't you have posted your opening post in the current Jack Watts thread? Is your opinion on "People getting excited about a player" so big that it needed to be a new topic?
  9. I would take either/both of them in less than a Heart beat.
  10. Totally agree. if Green is played in the square for the whole game it robs us of another player rotating through the middle.
  11. An interesting read. Leading forwards are very much in fashion at the moment. However, one day there will be a player as good as Alister Lynch was at standing in the goal square and beating his opponent one on one. Just because Hawkins and Neagle are no good at this doesn't mean there isn't a place for it. Hale got a couple of goals on us last weekend doing exactly that.
  12. This is getting more annoying than the annual 'Bring Back Woewodein' threads.
  13. I don't agree with this. The first time Miller played on Hall he did ok, but I think it was Barry Hall having a bad night as well as our midfield restricting the delivery to him. The 2nd game Hall clearly beat him in every area except the score board where Hall missed several gettable goals. The 3rd game Hall dominated.
  14. I played rugby for a few years and our whole team wore helmets. There is no way that it's just a placebo effect. Imagine a clash of heads without helmets. And then imagine a clash of heads with helmets. Yes. it would still hurt. but the chance of being knocked out would be a lot lower.
  15. I guess it comes down to how many new players we want to take on at the end of the year. We will need to make room on the main list for Spencer and Mckenzie. I would expect us to use our first 3 rounds picks on new players. Thats 5 players that will have to go at years end.
  16. I have been one of the many people over the years to under-rate Junior. When he was drafted I didn't think he would even get to 50 games. I was shocked when he was appointed captain, as I assumed he would be playing less game time towards the end of his career. A couple of years later im still waiting for him to start slowing down. However the old man just isn't slowing down. He's very close to his All Australian form. If he continues to play anywhere near this level for the rest of the year then we would be foolish not to give him another year. It's going to be very hard for spots on the list if we do. Especially with Bail smashing it. He has gone from certain de-listing to a very promising player.
  17. No need to insult the guy. I would be very, very surprised if JMac was still playing in 2012. And Bruce will probably be driving us all nuts by that stage and will only be allowed to stay on because he and Green are the only two who qualify for the Vets list.
  18. Sportsbet. Head to Head Demons - 2.60 Crows - 1.50
  19. Green is still a much needed midfielder for mine. Should, and would no doubt rotate through the forward line this year. But I want to win some games this year, and he will be needed in the midfield if that is to happen. Next year when we have got Scully, Trengove, Grimes and the rest of the young guys some have some much needed experience in them is when we have the luxury of playing Green as a forward. Martin should be learning the forward role at Casey. It's unfair of posters to write him off when he is being forced to learn with experienced defenders on him as well as delivery as shocking and infrequent as it currently is. Unfortunately Martin playing for Casey is another luxury we can not afford at the moment with the KPF and Ruck stocks in short supply.
  20. It's stupid. It's bad enough as it is now as a final 8. the fact that you can finish 8th on the ladder and still have a chance to win a premiership is shocking. I'm so sick of common sense decisions like this being influenced by money.
  21. Of course he would have done as well, if not better. Fitzpatrick was gifted a few NAB Cup games to show him how the game is played at the top level. I have no doubt that Bailey and the rest of the coaches knew ex-actually what they would get out of Fitzpatrick during this time. Nothing. But it was a great learning experience, he can play out the year at Casey knowing how far off he is and how hard he will have to work. The only reason why Fitzpatrick will get a game in the seniors this year will be because of injuries to the talls.
  22. After a successful 2006 I doubt anyone would have started a rebuild at this point in time. Members would have gone nuts. 2006 was a good year. What band aids are you talking about?
  23. I don't understand why McDonald would be taken out of the equation. He is best 22 this year and will make a contribution to the team. So why take him out of the statistics? A fair summary apart from this.
  24. I would really like to see the team fired up and have a good first quarter. Would also like to see a tight tag on Watson.
