Thats a very strong Bombers line up.
  2. Free agency is being introduced in 2012. That means that players must have been at their current club since the 2003 draft. By this stage the only important players still on our list might be - Sylvia, Davey, Rivers. The rest of the players will be either gone, or on the VET list and too old for other clubs. We are looking great for free agency by this time because we will defiantly be on the up by this stage. I actually doubt that players will want to go to the more powerful clubs for the sake of being at a powerful club. I reckon it will be a combo of salary and premiership chances. So if we don't entice any players from other teams the club will fold? There is still a salary cap. There is no way this situation would happen at any club.
  3. Ive heard that Grimes was only kept out of the leadership group by the smallest of margins. But where did you hear this about Fitzpatrick? I'm praying that Grimes will develop into that bone-fide leader/elite player that we have been missing for so long.
  4. This story seems like its 3 weeks too early. Check out the way Scully's leg looks in the photo!
  5. Spot on. Taking the rose colour glasses off for a minute. McDonald, Bruce, Green, Miller, Davey, Moloney and Rivers show how bad we lack good on field leaders. Unfortunately most of them cannot even play consistently good games either.
  6. Going to do the 3 word this year JoeBoy?
  7. Which team have the best?
  8. No, it's not fact at all. The details surrounding Brocks departure are still a mystery. Officially Brock decided that he didn't want to play for us, and he was traded. I listened and read all the interviews Brock had after being traded and he was very careful not to bag the club out and dodged giving a reason for his change of heart. He was then asked about Casey fields and gave an honest answer. He lives on the other side of the city, he didn't like the drive. As for the need for pace in the midfield. We picked up gysberts with the pick we got for him. Gysberts is not a fast paced player.
  9. I don't understand why you all think it's so funny I don't mind Giants or Rangers. Much better than Power or Dockers.
  10. I've given up on this one I'm afraid. Not everyone makes it unfortunately.

I know what you mean. I had that feeling when watching Martin play for Richmond the other day. Can't help but think "if only we had got him as well as Scully and Trengove" But I bet if for some reason we did have him I would be thinking "if only we had Butcher as well as Scully, Trengove and Martin."
  12. Do we really have any main rivals? I would have thought Geelong, Collingwood and essendon. Collingwood is a traditional rival, but only seems relevant on queens birthday games. Essendon more recently with them beating us in 2000 grand final and that elimination final where Hille destroyed Nicholson. Geelong is who we got paired with in rivaly rounds in recent years because we were both there at the begining. Unfortunaly none of these rivalrys are fierce eg. Essendon vs Hawthorn or Collingwood vs Carlton.
  13. Mclean shook his hand at the end of the match. He doesn't have to at the start. Neitz did the same thing on his 300th. Brock did everything he could for the demons, he decided it wasn't the best place for him and did the best for us again by making sure we got compensated. I've never heard or read anything from him ever bad mouthing the club. And it was a NAB cup match. he played bad. So what? Let's wait until after the first round at least before claiming we have won the trade. Gysberts hasn't even played yet!
  14. It's not rubbish. I believe that the friendships that he has formed with the other indigenous boys as well as the other players would be enough for him not to pack up and leave to a brand new club. No, we are not the only club with 3-6 "brothers", and if he had joined another team instead of the demons then I have no doubt that the friendships he would have formed with the players there would prevent him from moving to the gold coast too.
  15. Jurrah won't be going anywhere. He has got Flash and the other boys down here. Does anyone really think that he is the kind of guy who would leave for more money? No way. If the Gold Coast are going to target someone from the Demons it would be Frawley.
  16. is bored in the off season. so im doing this.

  17. We have Demonland and Demonology. Isn't that the same? How is this order determined? It say's popularity, but is popularity determined by 'hits'? or votes?
  18. Oh dear. Seems to sum up how a lot of us feel about Bell.
  19. Wouldn't it have been better for Stokes to admit to using the gram himself? I was under the assumption that trafficking was a far worse crime.
  20. Spencer has lost 11kg? That's terrible news! Maybe we might see a very raw Fitzpatrick in the nab cup. Would have preferred Martin played forward NAB Cup
  21. MFCNOW has given us another gem of a youtube video to keep you fired up in the off season.
  22. Good luck to him. Hope he proves people wrong. This thread is a joke. Late rookie pick in the weakest draft ever.
  23. 2004 just called. He wants his thread back.
  24. Poor guy. Loved him as a player. Hope he can turn it around. Hasn't had a good run lately. My family live in Tassie and he got slammed in the paper on a weekly basis when coaching Tas Vfl.
