Yes because once the siren goes the ball/time clock is dead. Kicking the ball away is considered a free for time wasting. Kicking the ball away after the siren? Not time wasting .... no free kick (or in this case a 50).

This is largely a result of the over technical use of the dissent rule IMO. The dissent option means umps feel overly protected/special this season and can call any BS call they want/like/feel like knowing that most are unable to push back for fear of another free or 50. Well done Wankervis haha

McKennerny had the right idea there but too shallow

The "on the line" call from the umps for a player standing the mark after an OOTF is such a dumb rule/call given the player kicking is never lined up and forced to kick over the mark (as he should be) to start off with. The player kicking in starts off well inside the mark of the player on the line and is effectively in an instant "play on" position from the time he is handed or picks up the ball but the player on the mark must stand on the line till he runs further inside and kicks it or handballs. One of the dumbest rules in footy right now. Whose idea was it to introduce this rubbish!
