TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Not sure where you got your info from LN... Baker only played one match last year against Norf. The other two matches unused sub. His stats in the Norf game... 10 effectives & 66.7%, one 1 percenter, 2 clearances, 1 rebound 50, 6 inside 50s, 4 tackles, 4 score involvements, 2 intercepts, 315 meters gained & 3 turnovers. His only significant season (non-covid regular) was 2019 where, as i think you may have correctly pointed out (or someone did), he played 9 matches. 5 of those consecutive from Rnds 9 to 13. Another block of 3 games from Rnds 19 to 21. His statistical averages from those 9 matches indicate a pretty sub par outcome for the season backing up those who are suggesting he was given a number of chances but didn't cut the mustard (at AFL level). 3 other consecutive matches in 2020 from Rnds 16 to 18. Again pretty sub par statistically but he had plenty of mates that season!

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Melk should consider himself the luckiest footballer in the AFL right now given the performance or lack thereof last week. Dunstan BOG in a comparison!! There has always been 'good Melk' or 'Bad Melk' (not alot of in between) and he's been a pretty good servant on occasions, in particular the two early finals in 2018. Let's hope he brings good Melk for his 200th and our sake as we can ill afford to have players going AWOL against clubs on the rise vying for a top 4 spot like Freo etc.

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Im not convinced he is going to make it either CF .... i just think as a short term fill in* he is the best of a pretty average bunch at Casey right at this moment* (*playing the Linger role).

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Wasn't actually saying it would happen... saying it 'should' happen IMV. In terms of a replacement role for Lingers (wing only) i believe Baker would be an upgrade to Melk. We'll agree to disagree D11

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Not sure if he's been in qualifying form but surely Baker has the nod given Lingers is out. If Melky goes down (someone steps on his small toe....cough) then yipeee for Bakes

Kangaroos Hopping Mad after Triple Walk Out
100% on the soccer side, hence why our National team is struggling to make a World Cup and perform against anyone with even a bit of cred like Japan. There is basically no serious pathway for junior players here (,soccer). It needs a legit Futsal comp at the junior level with multiple dedicated Futsal stadiums. Basketball has this infrasructure / feed in comps in place. The FFA and to some degree state & federal govts have failed this code. And the sad thing is we had a chance to get the ball rolling in 2010 but instead spent approx $42 million on a very stupid world cup bid.

That's some Pie stall! As long as the Chico Roll stall survived!

Kangaroos Hopping Mad after Triple Walk Out
Absolutely. There just isn't enough talent pool to offer up another club and see the other 18 hold their present shakey competitiveness. The bottom 6 are playing a bog ordinary standard and mostly unwatchable yet the AFL is hinting at a 19th team?

Kangaroos Hopping Mad after Triple Walk Out
I would much prefer one of GWS or GC go to make way for a Tassie team. How much has been poured into these two clubs in the last decade and still going in and for what benefit? Their crowds /supporter base are not exactly growing after about year 2 or 3 of commencing. What's the term about doing the same thing over and over & getting the same result!!

I don't know anything about his history but that doesn't sound so good. Theyre discussing this with Hodgy on SEN now

Kangaroos Hopping Mad after Triple Walk Out
Isn't the Tassie Govt pushing for an organic Tassie team as part of their campaign ie; no relocated teams?

I can't see Norf going Souff.... oh wait!

Blues the Dee-stroyers?
Leaky defence (Weitering aside). Great at getting the contested loose ball (a close second to us). Solid discipline around the drop of the ball, where the smalls stay front & square waiting to pounce (especially Walsh....let him push forward without any close checking at your peril). They also maintain this discipline further up the field and hold one out the back (where possible) to swoop. Obviously Cripps is in fab form and can damage both through the middle and loves to push forward to try and score or share the pill with those around. Love to get the jump on their opponents and try and blow the game/lead out early making it very difficult to peg back. While still leaky in defence if you get the ball in quick enough they're slowly learning the two way stuff & getting better at defending (+ slow play). The forward line with McKay & Curnow in is a beauty. Voss has them up & about with belief at an all time high (since 1995). Plenty of games & water under the bridge to go so who knows where both teams will be at (form wise) by the time we get to round 22 but.... we should never underestimate an opponent, especially one in this sort of form with belief so high.

I agree we have to stay ruthless as a club/team on the field Jaded. More than happy to thump everyone while we can! Norf (and most other) supporters have always laughed in our faces & kicked us while we were down (for decades). Been on the receiving end multiple times. Bit of Kanga Karma maybe.

Dees' Mr Fix-It
Playing this role must be taking its toll on Gus a little. Can't wait for Salem to come back, which should free up Gus to go forward a little more and impact games there a bit more often.

2022 Free Kick Differential
Or ....the umpire (one of them) confused Toby jumping in the air as a delayed protest to the free kick given a few seconds beforehand and gave him a belated 50 for "dissent" !!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
His tackling is also up there as well. 3rd highest tackle average in the team and equal 59th in the AFL.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
This is a very good point re goal kicking = most popular "best player" stakes in the media and with many of the fans. While i have no doubts Clarry loves to kick a goal (who doesn't!) i reckon he knows his limitations here. Yeh, he'll happily attempt it when possible, but he is just as happy destroying his opponents around the contest, putting on the after burners and/or sharing the the Sherrin with his team mates to better the "Team" overall vs lookng to achieve more individual efforts including hitting the scoreboard. Having said that i would like to see him improve his goal kicking (in play & from set shots) and take some more shots at times when he knows he's within range (for the betterment of the team... bit of icing on the cake!)

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Wardlaw seems to have earned the No.1 ....a little under sized for the big league? Don't mind Harry Lemmey's highlights but of course you need to see alot more than a highlights reel. Appears to have some decent decision making/ finishing skills at an early stage and might be still growing! Not that we have a chance with any of the top 20 guys of course.
