  1. Daicos brothers and Pendles are always in the mix LH. Not sure how DeGoey got 10 in that match. second half was good but certainly not as noticeable in the first.
  2. No doubt already been mentioned but of course Buddy gets just one week for going past the ball and ironing out oppo with an elbow to the head... Kozzy gets two with oppo barely a scratch. The AFL Circus continues unabated! Well done Gil
  3. Yep he made me eat humble pie Dockett. I thought he may have been passed any kind of performance like that when i watched him in the warm up against the Saints... 17 effectives, 6 one percenters, 8 rebounds, 1 inside 50, 2 tackles (one of those inside 50), 4 score involvements, 5 intercepts and 424 meters gained. 4 turnovers
  4. Not really a surpirse and will change with each match depending on who's in / out for us and the oppo of course. Nonetheless makes for positive reading... https://www.zerohanger.com/every-afl-clubs-backline-ranked-part-iii-2-134095/
  5. Yes interesting point tiers. Be nice to see some sort of hot zone map where it shows where the ball was tracking
  6. Yes a great example of playing your role. No stat for this act either, it's purely team driven & sacrificial
  7. Yes a tad quiet although he didn't do too badly if compared to say Tracc, where he had only two less effectives with 10% less game time (84% vs 74% respectively). Also the scores don't always reflect the quality of those possessions. Better to trust in what we witness on the day i think.
  8. I don't think many realised it was them coming on as the announcer was that lady with the screechy voice that makes your ears bleed. I had my fingers in my ears whenever she started speaking. Truth! Wasn't till they got to the southern wing that i realised it was the AFLW team doing a lap Pleeeeease ....Bring back Robbo!!
  9. Spargoat coming up on SEN shortly
  10. 6. Kozzie - super clean all night, pressure 1st class all night. 4 snags for a small forward... noice! 5. Gawn - just everywhere, sticking hands in everywhere to spoil/flick ball around etc. Desperation off the charts. 4. Tracc - Bit of a coin toss between him & Gawn. When Tracc decides to take it up a notch look out. Not many can go with him. 3. Gus - a few fumbles in the 1st half. Made ammends and then some in the second. 2. Rivers - Great run and drive off HB. Solid all night 1. Ben Brown - got to plenty of contests. Took some nice clunks including a couple on the lead. Some clutch goals. 4 is a decent haul! Apologies... Bowser, Lever, Tomo, Petty & Spargoat
  11. Round 1, 2023 MCG - Demons vs Bulldogs Clarry opens his 2023 salvo with the No.1 mantle. Not sure i would agree with that after watching the match but then again you do miss alot of what's happening up the opposite end when you're sitting behind the goals Thought CP5 & Kozzie were close to BOG. Kozzie's pressure in our F 50 and even higher up the ground was super all night. Track lifted from about the 20 minute mark of the second and the Dogs couldn't go with him afterwards continuing his fabulous pre-season form Great result for BBB with four snags. The one from the pocket was a beautiful bender The defence looked a little shakey at times but settled after half time and held up nicely with some lovely connection happening later in the match. Thought Melk's goal in particular was team poetry off HB. The Bowser handball in traffic out wide to Claz... wowsers! Top 5 Meters Gained > Tracc 661 (Doggy's best...Smith with 623), Clarry 488 (drive those legs Mr Choo Choo!), Lever 484, Tomlinson 424 & Rivers 388 Thought this was an excellent result given the key outs we had. Grundy slotted in very nicely ty. Had a few iffy moments but appeared to improve as the game progressed Bring on the Bears! 12. Track, Juddy, Chandler, Spargoat, Clarry, Rick, Tomo & Kozxy vg in that quarter
  13. Yes i might be eating humble pie by the end of this one
  14. Didnt see that from behind goals at other end. Great to hear he flew the flag
  15. Aside from the score that was a pretty crappy underwhelmimg game from where i sat. Waited 6 months for that?
  16. Yes horses for courses. Their talls are very mobile and rangey.
  17. Playing all of Chandler, Harmes & Bill seems like too many pees from the same pod for mine. Harmes & Chandler is plenty. As you say, bring Hibb in as the sub to cover the Bowey role if/when needed?
  18. Agre with the last two paras. Isn't Jordan competing more with Hunter for the non-lingers wing posi?
  19. Sorry meant JVR not Chandler. Had a few snorts watching that boring opening round. Jvr gives us the flexibility of potentially pushing Macca down back for a stint if things start getting a bit ugly and/or as a fill in if (Lucifer forbid) one of Lever/Tomo or Petty go down.
  20. Def should be under dogs (no pun intended). A win would be a nice bonus. Chandler & Disco should have gotten the nod ahead of Bill & Tomo. Potentially lost this at the selection table. Yes i realise the FD see and know alot more but going on form in the two warm ups very surprising ins imv.
  21. You should never write any player off but having watched the match against StKilda in this instance i have to agree. He was towelled by a junior and looked gawnsky for mine. Almost impossible to replace May like for like but Disco should've got the call up. Petty takes the No.1 with Disco taking over the Petty role. Leaves Rick to play his usual intercept & mop up.
  22. Have to have faith in the SC but for mine i don't see how Laurie got a call up just yet. A very nice prospect at VFL level but his best down there is still every other game or sometimes less regular. I didn't see anything in the two warm ups that jolted me into thinking "hey get this young prospect in pronto". He looked ok at times but nothing spesh. Judd on the other hand def stuck his hand up in the two warm ups. Personally i just don't see Laurie as being ready for the big stage and would rather see him continuing to work on his skills & consistency in bringing them at VFL level for now. He isn't that far off either but imv more work needed and a nice WIP prospect with a possibility for a call up at some point if/when the opp arose.
  23. Yes it's a pretty tried & true formula SW. Fingers crossed we make a decent fist of things. Will need some luck with injuries of course.
  24. May out would put a dampner on things if it comes to pass. Let's hope not. To say he's a critical part of our defence is an obvious understatement. While i realise he isn't like for like, is Disco an option if May doesn't make it?
